Yi Ruihua walked slowly into the Yi family home, putting down his purse as he asked, "Where is Madam?"
Upon hearing the question, Wu Fen hurriedly came out of the study. When she saw that it was Yi Ruihua, she immediately said, "Sir, you're back. The food will be ready soon."
Yi Ruihua loosened his collar, casually said "Oh," and asked the same question again.
"Where is Madam?"
When Wu Fen heard the question, she was first taken aback, but then a smile spread across her face.
"Madam has just returned and is in the study."
This answer was clearly beyond Yi Ruihua's expectations.
He paused for a moment, then quickly changed his words: "Oh. I was asking about Mrs. He."
The title "Madam He" sent a chill down Wu Fen's spine.
"Sir, I don't know."
Wu Fen said those words and turned to go into the kitchen.
Seeing her strange reaction, Yi Ruihua wanted to say something, but hesitated for a moment, then turned and went upstairs.
He searched through the rooms one by one, and finally found her in the room that had originally been his and Meng Jie's.
How did you end up living here?
Yi Ruihua asked in surprise as she walked into the house.
He Yunxin heard his voice and was eager to turn around, but halfway through turning her head, she remembered something and stubbornly sat there without moving.
"Yes, this room is so expensive, someone like me can't afford to stay here."
Without waiting for Yi Ruihua's comforting words, she stood up abruptly, opened the wardrobe door, and began to pack her clothes.
"I can't stay here, I'll just leave, okay? I'm not going to stay here and put up with their attitude!"
Yi Ruihua initially found her sarcastic remarks strange, but now that she was packing her bags, she hurriedly stepped forward to stop her.
"It's just a room, there's nothing you can't stay in. With me here, you can stay here without worry!"
He Yunxin's anger did not subside in the slightest because of what she said, and she pushed away Yi Ruihua's hand that was trying to stop her.
“This isn’t about whether I live here or not! They don’t treat me like the lady of the house at all. They’re always making sarcastic and mean talk to me. Even the servants who are supposed to be serving me can point their fingers at me and yell at me. What am I supposed to do living here?”
After saying that, she stomped her foot, collapsed onto the bed next to her, covered her face, and started crying.
Yi Ruihua was shocked when she heard this.
"Who dares to point at you and curse you? Tell me, who is it!"
He Yunxin sniffed and said irritably, "Who else could it be! It's that Wu Fen! Ever since I moved in, she hasn't given me a kind look and keeps making snide remarks about me, calling me 'mistress' and 'eldest son and grandson.' What have I done to offend her? I'm trying to avoid her like the plague!"
"Wu Fen?" Yi Ruihua's face darkened. "You wait, I'll go and get justice for you."
Upon hearing this, He Yunxin grabbed him.
"Where are you going! Who do you think they are! You think you can get justice for me?!"
“This is the Yi family home, and I am the master of this home. How can I not get my revenge?” Yi Ruihua retorted excitedly.
He Yunxin sat there silently, muttering, "You really are stupid. She's just a hired hand. How dare she be so arrogant? Isn't it because someone behind her is telling her to deliberately mess with me?"
Yi Ruihua was taken aback. "You mean Meng Jie?"
He Yunxin snorted coldly, "Who else could it be! She pretended to be magnanimous and let me in, but she was just plotting against me and trying to disgust me when you weren't around, hoping I would back down on my own. Her intentions are too malicious!"
Yi Ruihua's expression changed, but he did not respond to these words.
He Yunxin glanced at him twice, and seeing that he didn't react at all, she got angry and grabbed the luggage that was scattered to one side.
“I’d better leave and make room for some people. Let’s go back to the way things were before, and pretend we never met five years ago, and that you don’t even know about my son and me.”
Hearing her defiant words, Yi Ruihua couldn't stand idly by, so he pulled her downstairs.
"I'll stand up for you today, and see who dares to look down on you again."
"Come on."
Although He Yunxin said this, she didn't actually resist at all, and the corners of her mouth kept turning up.
Yi Ruihua stormed downstairs, calling out, "Wu Fen!"
Wu Fen heard this in the kitchen and hurriedly came out. When she saw Yi Ruihua with a pale face and He Yunxin beside him, she understood everything.
"What can I do for you, sir?"
Yi Ruihua pointed to He Yunxin beside her and asked her, "Who is this?"
Without looking up, Wu Fen replied, "Miss He."
“It’s Madam He,” Yi Ruihua corrected.
Wu Fen: "Sir, I only know one wife in this family. And it seems that no matter whose family it is, there is only one wife."
He Yunxin stomped her feet in anger when she heard what she said.
"Did you hear that? She said that right in front of you, so she must have someone backing her up! I can't stay here any longer, I'm going to pack my bags and leave."
Yi Ruihua hurriedly tried to stop her, but He Yunxin, in a fit of anger, struggled incessantly.
Seeing that he couldn't stop her, Yi Ruihua angrily shouted at Wu Fen, "Wu Fen, you've gone too far. This family's surname is Yi, not Meng, and certainly not Wu! I said she's the madam, so she's the madam! If you don't want to work here, then leave! I won't force you to stay!"
Wu Fen looked up in surprise, hardly believing that he had said those words.
"Sir, when did I say I was leaving? Even if you want me to leave, shouldn't it be Madam who says so?"
He Yunxin sneered, "See? This family no longer belongs to the Yi family; it should have belonged to the Meng family a long time ago."
Because of these words, Yi Ruihua's face turned noticeably gloomy.
"I'll repeat myself, this family is the Yi family, not the Meng family!"
He glanced upstairs and lowered his voice, saying, "She, Meng Jie, married me. She still thinks she's the eldest daughter of the Meng family! Just because I tolerated her before doesn't mean I don't have a temper. I'm the master of this house. Whoever I say is the wife, is whoever I say she is. Do you understand?"
Before Wu Fen could speak, another voice suddenly rang out.
"I understand."
Yi Ruihua was startled and quickly looked up. When she saw Yi An standing at the door, she froze, her anger frozen on her face.
Yi An looked at him with a forced smile and slowly walked in.
"You must have gone through a lot to tolerate my mom like that."
He suddenly changed the subject: "Since you've gone through so much, why didn't you ever think about not being able to bear it? It's a good opportunity to get a divorce and give her a proper status!"
He Yunxin didn't know why he said such a thing, and turned to look at Yi Ruihua expectantly.
Yi Ruihua tried to avoid her gaze, pretending not to see it.
Yi An looked at him and saw that he had been so imposing just now, but now he was all weak. He was just a paper tiger, only daring to put on a show behind closed doors.
Seeing that Yi Ruihua remained silent, He Yunxin felt a chill in her heart and turned to walk upstairs.
