Chapter 211 It Wasn't a Waste of Time

Lin Hui admired the birthmark on Bao Han's back with satisfaction.

"This level of realism is so convincing that it could easily be mistaken for the real thing."

She was full of praise, but Feng Xiuqin looked distressed and held Bao Han tightly, unwilling to let go.

"How much suffering must this be?"

Feng Xiuqin's eyes were red, but because Lin Hui was there, she tried her best to hold back her tears.

Lin Hui casually turned around, reminding Feng Lin who was standing to the side.

"Okay, go make the call."

Feng Lin nodded blankly, glanced again in the direction of Feng Xiuqin and Bao Han, grabbed her phone, and walked out of the ward.

Chengdu Research Institute of Technology.

Zhao Bo slumped listlessly on the table, looking utterly dejected, and refused to utter a single word.

Yi'an pushed open the door and walked in, seeing his demeanor.

"Are you still thinking about that?"

Zhao Bo sighed, "Who would have thought I would actually hit my mother-in-law?"

Yi An tried to comfort him: "That wasn't just your doing. Didn't your mother-in-law hit you too? And she hit you pretty hard. Look at her."

Zhao Bo slapped away the hand that was reaching out to him. "I really don't know why I went with you. I even got into a fight with my mother-in-law for no reason. What am I going to do now?"

Zhao Bo was on the verge of tears, and could only howl at the top of his lungs.

When Yi'an heard him mention this, she also sighed.

"Twice now, each time they were just a hair's breadth away from confirming their identities. How come they always end up ruining things instead of succeeding!"

Zhao Bo jumped up immediately, "Who are you calling a failure who's good for nothing but causing trouble!"

Yi An hurriedly explained, "I didn't say anything about you, why are you trying to pin the blame on yourself!"

Zhao Bo looked dejected again and said weakly, "Actually, it wasn't a wasted trip."

"What's the meaning?"

Zhao Bo took out a sealed bag from the side and handed it to Yi An.

"We also have this."

Yi An looked inside and saw that the contents of the sealed bag were none other than the lollipop that Bao Han had eaten yesterday.

His eyes lit up immediately. "You actually picked this up!"

Zhao Bo didn't show the slightest bit of joy on his face when he heard the praise.

"I haven't done anything important myself, I've been cleaning up your mess all along."

Yi An was overjoyed as she took the sealed bag and patted Zhao Bo on the shoulder.

"Good brother! I trust you!"

Seeing that he was happy made Zhao Bo feel even worse.

"Now that you're happy, what am I supposed to do? How can I possibly erase the fact that I hit my mother-in-law?!"

Just as Zhao Bo finished yelling, his phone rang.

He glanced at it, and his gaze immediately became fixed on it.

"Linlin!"

Zhao Bo hurriedly grabbed his phone and quickly pressed the answer button.

"Hey, Linlin!"

Hearing his excited voice, Feng Lin was stunned for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Brother Bo, are you still angry?"

"Angry?" Zhao Bo was stunned for a moment, then quickly explained, "How could I be angry! But Auntie, is Auntie still angry with me?"

Feng Lin: "Brother Bo, I heard everything from my mom when I got home. She was wrong to hit you without even asking what happened. I've already talked to her, and she's realized her mistake. Please don't blame her, Brother Bo!"

Zhao Bo didn't expect things to develop this way; it didn't seem as serious as he had imagined.

"It's okay, Linlin, it's just a misunderstanding, we'll clear it up once we talk it out."

Upon hearing this, Feng Lin followed up, "Brother Bo, my mom is cooking for you at home tomorrow. Can you come?"

Afraid that Zhao Bo would refuse, she quickly added after speaking, "Brother Bo, please come. If you don't come, my mom will feel really guilty. Please, for my sake, come, okay?"

Zhao Bo hadn't intended to refuse in the first place, but after hearing her sweet words of persuasion, he was completely captivated.

"Okay, okay, Linlin, I'll definitely go tomorrow!"

After hanging up the phone, Zhao Bo felt refreshed and invigorated.

He stood up, basked in the sunlight, and sighed to the heavens, "What a wonderful life! It's truly wonderful!"

Yi An was stunned by his dramatic change in mood.

"What's wrong? What did she say that makes you so happy?"

Zhao Bo curled his lips into a smile and turned to berate Yi An.

"I told you you guys were prejudiced against Linlin. Linlin is such an understanding girl; even in this matter, she's so righteous and impartial, and she even spoke up for me. Tell me! Where can you find a girl like her!"

Yi'an was even more bewildered upon hearing this.

What's going on? How does that make someone so understanding and righteous?

He wanted to ask more, but Zhao Bo, humming a little tune, was about to walk out when he changed his mind: "Where are you going?"

"Go pick out some clothes to wear when you meet your mother-in-law."

"We should have chosen carefully a long time ago."

Yi An blurted it out, but then realized something was wrong and wanted to ask again, but Zhao Bo had already left.

He stood there, frowning, completely bewildered and unable to understand anything.

After a night of careful dressing up, Zhao Bo finally chose the most fashionable outfit to meet his mother-in-law.

In the morning, he even went to the barbershop to get a high-profile haircut and went to Feng Lin's house looking radiant.

There was a knock on the door, and Feng Lin came out to open it. When she saw Zhao Bo standing at the door, she was completely stunned.

"Brother Bo, you..."

She looked Zhao Bo up and down, and his attire was truly indescribable.

Zhao Bo's face was full of smiles as he excitedly peeked into the room.

"Where's Auntie? I bought her fruit and bird's nest."
