Yi An carried Bao Han into the house, carefully placed him on the bed, and coaxed him with words.
"Hanhan, don't cry. Look, you're home. This is your real home."
Bao Han wouldn't listen to a word and just kept crying.
He slid off the bed and onto the floor, kicking his legs frantically to keep Yi'an away.
Su Yan looked at the child on the ground, her eyes reddening.
She struggled to suppress her emotions, which were on the verge of collapse, and said to Yi An, "I'm entrusting Xiao Yu to you for the time being."
Yi An nodded, turned and walked to the door, still feeling a little uneasy.
Are you sure you can manage alone?
Su Yan forced a smile, "It's okay, he's just a kid, it's understandable that he's not used to it."
Yi An gave her a deep look before opening the door and walking out.
Hearing the door close, Su Yan took a deep breath and stepped into the room.
"Chenchen, oh no, Hanhan, please listen to me, okay?"
Bao Han shook his head frantically, pointing at Su Yan and shouting, "You're a bad woman! You're a bad person! I want to find my mother! I want to find my sister! I want to go home!"
Su Yan tried her best to make her expression look gentle and kind. "Hanhan, listen to me. Those two women are not your mother and sister. I am your mother."
These words were immediately refuted by Bao Han.
"No! You're lying! I want my mom! I want to go home!"
Su Yan took a deep breath, took out the toy gift she had prepared beforehand, and presented it to him.
"Hanhan, look at this. This is the most popular car model among children recently. Lots of kids want one."
She moved the toy even closer to Bao Han so he could see it clearly.
"Look, there's a running track, a parking lot, and a gas station here..."
Before Su Yan could finish her introduction, Bao Han flung the toy away.
He screamed hysterically at Su Yan, "I don't want toys! I don't want them! I only want my mom and sister!"
These words completely stunned Su Yan, leaving her frozen in place for a long time without reacting.
Bao Han gritted his teeth, looking at her with hatred in his eyes, then suddenly ran forward and shoved her hard.
Caught completely off guard, Su Yan was pushed to the ground. Even so, Bao Han was still not satisfied, straddling her and slapping her repeatedly.
He used tremendous force, and every blow to Su Yan's body ached.
Su Yan did not resist, but stared blankly at him. His eyes were filled with undisguised hatred, which deeply aggravated her.
Why does he hate her? She's clearly his mother!
Su Yan suddenly sprang up, grabbed Bao Han's arm, and shouted at him sharply, "I'm your mother! Do you understand? I'm your mother, and none of them are!"
Bao Han was, after all, just a four-year-old child. No matter how big his temper or how brave he was, he had never seen anything like this before and was completely terrified.
There was a silence for about two seconds, then an even more piercing cry erupted.
"Mommy! I want my mommy! Mommy, save me! Mommy, save me and take me home!"
The crying startled Su Yan awake, and she realized what she had just done.
"Hanhan, don't cry. It's Mommy's fault. Mommy shouldn't have been so strict with you."
She wanted to raise her hand to wipe away Bao Han's tears, but when Bao Han saw her hand coming, he instinctively shrank back, his face full of fear and trembling.
Su Yan was stunned. Her hand remained frozen in the air for a long time before she slowly withdrew it.
She looked helplessly at Bao Han's tears, like a puppet doll that had lost its soul, and staggered out of the room.
As soon as she stepped out of the room, Su Yan completely broke down.
She squatted down helplessly, covering her face and crying desperately.
It's unclear how long Su Yan cried before she finally calmed down.
She tried to stand up to check on Bao Han in the room, but her legs suddenly felt weak and she almost fell.
If she hadn't reacted quickly and grabbed the wall, she would have fallen badly.
Su Yan tiptoed to the door, opened it a crack, and saw Bao Han, who had cried himself to sleep on the floor.
She gently pushed open the door and went over to carry Bao Han to the bed, but then, afraid of waking him, she took a blanket and gently draped it over him.
After doing all this, Su Yan finally felt relieved and went out to prepare dinner.
Halfway through cooking, there was a knock on the door, which alerted Su Yan and also alerted Bao Han inside the room.
Bao Han sat up reflexively, hugged the blanket and shrank to the edge of the bed, staring fearfully at the doorway.
Su Yan came out of the kitchen, glanced in the direction of the room, and then turned to open the door.
Standing at the door were Yi An, Yi Kangle, and Su Xiaoyu.
When Yi An saw Su Yan's red and swollen eyes, she immediately realized what was going on.
"You cried?"
Su Yan looked away, feigning ignorance: "Huh? What did you say? Thank you for bringing Xiaoyu back, thank you so much."
She briefly thanked her and then led Su Xiaoyu inside.
Yi An watched the door slowly close and sighed deeply.
He's starting to doubt himself now, wondering if helping her find her child was the right or wrong thing to do.
Su Xiaoyu immediately sensed something was wrong as she entered the house.
She stared intently at the door where Bao Han was, her brows furrowed, and the sound of crying could be faintly heard.
"Mother."
She tugged at Su Yan's clothes and pointed to Bao Han's room.
Su Yan glanced at her and immediately understood what she wanted to ask. She squatted down and explained with a smile, "Xiao Yu, Chenchen is back. Your little brother Chenchen is back."
Su Xiaoyu froze on the spot.
The name Chenchen was both familiar and unfamiliar to her.
Chenchen is the name Su Yan has been silently repeating for four years, yet he is also her younger brother whom she has never met.
Su Xiaoyu subconsciously walked towards Bao Han's room, but Su Yan quickly grabbed her arm.
"Chenchen just got home and he's still in a bad mood, so don't bother him for now."
Su Xiaoyu nodded as if she understood, and stopped in her tracks.
Only then did Su Yan feel relieved and continue cooking.
After finishing cooking, she called Su Xiaoyu to come eat, and then took the carefully prepared meal to Bao Han's room.
As the door opened and closed, Su Xiaoyu tilted her head and vaguely seemed to see a dark-skinned little boy.
Is this her younger brother?
Su Xiaoyu turned her head back to her food, and just as she was about to pick up her spoon to eat, she heard a "crackling" sound.
Su Xiaoyu looked over in surprise, and the noise in that room became even louder, including the sound of a child crying.
She heard him shouting, "I want to go home! I want to find my mother! I don't want to eat your food, you bad woman!"
A short while later, Su Yan came out with a plate. The food on the plate was all mixed together and looked very dirty.
Su Yan's complexion wasn't good either; her hair was a little messy, and there were glistening tears in her eyes.
