Yi An stared blankly at Su Yan's gaze, then hurriedly explained, "Su Yan, I just wanted to..."
Su Yan interrupted him directly, "What are you thinking? Do you also want to help them take Chenchen away?"
Her emotions suddenly surged.
"Yi'an, I trusted you so much, but it turns out you're no different from them."
Su Yan nodded heavily. "You'll never know the pain until you cut yourself. Go away, I don't want to see you!"
She didn't give Yi'an a chance to explain and directly told her to leave.
Seeing how agitated she was, Yi'an was not about to leave easily.
“Su Yan, I’m not trying to help them. I’m doing this entirely for your sake.”
Su Yan: "Thinking of me? You called the person who took Chenchen away?"
Yi An retorted directly, "Can you really bear to see the child continue like this?"
He pointed to Bao Han in the ward, "You see his little face is all yellow from crying. He was already so badly injured, and he's still crying like this. How can his body take it?"
Su Yan pursed her lips and stood there without saying a word.
Yi An took a breath and stepped forward to pull her arm.
"Su Yan, for the sake of the child's safety, let's put aside those grudges for now, okay?"
Su Yan did not answer, turned around and went straight into the ward.
Yi An watched her retreating figure, knowing that she had agreed, and then breathed a sigh of relief and followed her inside.
Su Yan sat by Bao Han's bedside, her expression noticeably different, and her tone of voice was so gentle it could melt water.
"Hanhan, are you hungry? Mommy will go buy you something to eat, okay?"
Bao Han did not answer her question, but turned his head to look at Yi An expectantly.
"Uncle, when is my sister coming?"
These words instantly chilled Su Yan's heart.
She jumped up, turned around, and rushed out of the ward.
Yi An watched her figure disappear through the door, sighed deeply, and patiently explained to Bao Han, "Your sister will be here soon, will you wait for her patiently?"
Bao Han nodded hesitantly, a secret gleam of joy on his tear-streaked face.
Su Yan ran out of the hospital, hid in a secluded corner, covered her face and cried for a while before buying some porridge that was suitable for Bao Han to eat and taking it back with her.
Looking at her swollen and red eyes, Yi An immediately understood what was going on.
He suppressed his heartache and said nothing.
Su Yan sat on the edge of the bed with the porridge in her hand, scooping it up with a spoon one spoonful at a time. After blowing on it to cool it down so it wasn't too hot, she brought it to Bao Han's lips.
"Hanhan, open your mouth, ah!"
She tried to coax him gently, but Bao Han shook his head like a rattle.
Bao Han kept asking, "Uncle, why isn't my sister here yet?"
Su Yan tightened her grip on the bowl of porridge, but remained silent.
Yi An glanced at her quickly and coaxed her gently, "Hanhan, you eat your food first. Your sister will be here after you finish eating."
"Really?" Bao Han confirmed.
"Of course! Why would your uncle lie to you?"
With Yi An's assurance, Bao Han obediently looked at Su Yan and asked, "I want to eat. Hurry up and finish your meal, then my sister will come!"
His joyful and excited voice sent a chill down Su Yan's spine.
Su Yan silently scooped up another spoonful and brought it to Bao Han's lips.
Just as Bao Han was about to speak, the door was pushed open from the outside.
He quickly turned his head to look, and when he saw Feng Lin walk in, he was so happy that he forgot everything else. He raised his little hand high and kept shouting, "Sister! Sister! You're finally here!"
His arm swung too far and bumped into the porridge in Su Yan's hand. Su Yan was caught off guard and spilled the entire bowl of porridge all over herself.
Su Yan jumped up suddenly and exclaimed in surprise.
Yi An rushed forward and anxiously checked her over, "Are you alright? Did you get burned?"
Su Yan quickly dealt with the situation and replied, "It's nothing, I'm fine, it's just that the porridge spilled."
She lowered her eyes, paused for a moment, and then said, "I'll go buy another one."
After saying that, Su Yan lowered her head and walked out.
Feng Lin raised the thermos in her hand, about to call out to Su Yan, but was stopped by Yi An.
"Don't call her; she's just finding an excuse to leave."
Feng Lin's gaze immediately fixed on him at those words. After looking at him for a long time, she slowly asked, "Mr. Yi, you like her, don't you?"
Although it was a question, it carried a strong sense of certainty.
Having seen countless men, she knew that the burning, concerned look a man gave a woman was nothing short of liking.
Yi'an neither denied nor affirmed it.
"Hurry up and feed Hanhan, he's hungry."
As Feng Lin walked to Bao Han's bedside, she sighed and said, "Oh, I really envy Su Yan's good luck in having the favor of a golden bachelor like President Yi."
Yi An watched coldly as she opened the thermos, her eyes devoid of any warmth.
"Don't you already have Zhao Bo? Why do you need to envy others?"
Upon hearing this, Feng Lin simply chuckled and remained silent.
She bent down, scooped up some porridge from the thermos, and fed it to Bao Han.
Bao Han changed his previous resistant attitude and obediently drank the porridge that Feng Lin handed him.
"Hanhan, is it good?"
Bao Han nodded heavily. "It's delicious! Sister, I want to go home with you and drink Mom's porridge forever."
Feng Lin affectionately patted his head. "Hanhan, your home now is at Aunt Su Yan's house. She is your mother, do you understand?"
Bao Han froze, staring at Feng Lin with pleading eyes, tears welling up in them.
"Sister, don't you and Mom want me anymore?"
Feng Lin remained unusually calm as she watched his tears fall.
"It's not that we don't want you anymore, it's that you never belonged to us in the first place. You are Aunt Su Yan's son, do you understand?"
Bao Han kept shaking his head.
Feng Lin sighed deeply, "You're still young, it's normal that you don't understand. This matter is your sister and mother's fault, not Aunt Su Yan's fault. So, Hanhan, don't resist her, okay?"
Bao Han shook his head again.
This time, Feng Lin stopped trying to coax or persuade her. She stood up and said to Yi An, "President Yi, I think we should go out and talk alone."
When Bao Han saw that she was about to leave, he panicked and grabbed her clothes, pleading, "Sister, don't go, sister, take me home."
Feng Lin turned her head and patted his head, "Sister isn't leaving, sister just wants to go out for some fresh air. It's too stuffy here. Hanhan, be good here by yourself."
She pulled Bao Han's hand down and beckoned Yi An to walk outside.
Yi An glanced at Bao Han's teary-eyed appearance, then looked at Feng Lin's somewhat indifferent back, and her brows furrowed slightly.
As soon as Feng Lin and Yi An stepped out of the ward, they saw Su Yan sitting on a chair outside.
Su Yan didn't buy any porridge; she just sat there.
