Chapter 234 Can We Stop Acting?

Su Yan exchanged a few more angry words with Zhao Boku before hanging up the phone, exhausted, and turned to thank the shop assistant.

Zhao Bo hung up the phone, his face beaming with joy.

He was just worried about not having a suitable opportunity to propose to Feng Lin, and this opportunity just happened!

"This is truly divine intervention!"

He excitedly threw a hook punch.

Because he was in a great mood, Zhao Bo became more generous and open with Su Xiaoyu.

"Xiaoyu, it's your birthday today! Tell Uncle what you want to eat or buy, and Uncle will buy it for you."

After saying this, Zhao Bo was still smug about his extravagance. But soon he paid a heavy price and experienced what it meant to be brutally beaten by society.

He looked at the table laden with food, while Su Xiaoyu was happily eating an ice cream.

"You really don't hold back at all."

Su Xiaoyu pointed to several of the gifts and counted them carefully: "This is Xiaobao's, this is Mom's, this is Uncle Yi's, this is..."

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Zhao Bo quickly called for a stop, unable to listen any longer.

"Why are you bringing your family along?"

He covered his head with his hand, feeling the heart beneath his chest bleeding.

"It was too hasty, really too hasty."

Upon hearing this, Su Xiaoyu smiled triumphantly and licked her ice cream with even greater merriment.

Zhao Bo took out his phone, looking at his bills with a troubled expression, and began to calculate how much money he had left to buy a house.

Although he appears to be a rich second-generation, he has been supporting himself entirely since being "kicked out" of his family.

In addition to buying a ring and preparing to buy a house, he was already completely drained, so how could he withstand Su Xiaoyu's constant demands?

You could say he's penniless now.

To eliminate any worries, he urged Su Xiaoyu anxiously.

"How about we pack it up and take it to go? Let's hurry and eat it at home!"

Zhao Bo thought that this would solve the bankruptcy crisis, but in reality, he was too naive.

Zhao Bo pulled Su Xiaoyu back; his car was still parked in front of the jewelry store.

But Su Xiaoyu suddenly stopped at a cake shop and wouldn't move.

When Zhao Bo saw her stop, his heart jumped.

"Su Xiaoyu!"

Just as he was about to grab Su Xiaoyu, Su Xiaoyu was prepared and nimbly crouched down like a mouse.

Taking advantage of Zhao Bo's momentary lapse in concentration, she dashed into the cake shop.

"Su Xiaoyu?!"

Zhao Bo shouted as he chased after the shop assistant, but as soon as he entered and saw the polite smiles on the shop assistant's face, all the pleasant words stuck in his throat and he couldn't spit them out.

Zhao Bo swallowed all his words back and forced out a ridiculously fake smile.

"I'm so sorry, the child was so disobedient. I couldn't control him and he ran in. Please excuse the mess."

He forced a smile and bowed in apology while grabbing Su Xiaoyu by the back of the neck and dragging her out.

Su Xiaoyu struggled desperately, her legs digging into the ground, but it was clearly to no avail.

She could only point to the strawberry cake in the cupboard and shout, "Daddy, I want that cake!"

Zhao Bo froze on the spot when he heard that exceptionally loud "Dad".

What did you call me?

He could hardly believe his ears.

Su Xiaoyu steadied herself, raised her little face, looked at him with a wrinkled expression, and gestured with her little hands.

"Daddy, buy one!" she pleaded sweetly.

Zhao Bo was completely taken aback by her "female warrior's coquettishness," leaving him speechless.

"Su Xiaoyu, you really will stop at nothing to achieve your goals!"

All he got in return for that was an even more cloying "Daddy~"

The shop assistants were absolutely charmed by her; they were practically shouting, "Buy it for her right now! Buy her whatever she wants!"

Zhao Bo, however, had a heart of stone, and raised the full pack of bags in his hand.

"Su Xiaoyu, don't go too far."

Su Xiaoyu's eyes dimmed instantly, and her face drooped in disappointment.

"My dad is so poor," she murmured to herself.

The sound was neither too loud nor too soft, just enough to reach Zhao Bo's ears.

Zhao Bo was so angry he almost vomited blood. Was this a matter of being poor or not?

"Su Xiaoyu, can we stop acting?" he spat out through gritted teeth.

Su Xiaoyu acted as if she hadn't heard him, and walked slowly to the shop assistants.

"Pretty sister."

She called out in a soft, sweet voice, her big eyes blinking as she looked at the shop assistant, radiating cuteness to an extreme degree.

The shop assistants were utterly powerless against her adorable appearance. Not to mention, she had such a sweet tongue.

"What's wrong, little one?"

The shop assistant's voice became incredibly gentle, as if afraid that raising her voice would frighten the little cutie in front of her.

Su Xiaoyu hesitated, her cherry-like lips parting slightly, "Pretty sister, my dad doesn't have any money, and it's so hard for him to raise me. Could you give me a discount?"

She raised her little hand and pinched the spot where her fingernail was.

"Just a little bit."

Seeing the gleam in her ingratiating eyes, the shop assistant had no chance of refusing and naturally agreed to whatever she said.

"Sweetie, this cake is for you..."

The word "send" had barely been uttered when a hurried voice suddenly came from behind Su Xiaoyu.

"I'll buy it!"

The shop assistant looked at Zhao Bo in surprise, who had suddenly shouted out.

Zhao Bo clutched his chest, trying to suppress the bleeding pain, and said in a tearful voice, "Fine, I'll buy it!"

Su Xiaoyu's lips slowly curled up, and she threw herself at Zhao Bo, hugging his leg tightly.

"I love my dad the most!"

She learned this phrase from Bao Han.

Whether it was due to a lack of mastery of his skills or some other reason, Zhao Bo not only lacked Su Yan's happy smile, but even felt an urge to die.

And so, before the shop assistant even knelt down to the woman who was so deeply moved, he was also very enthusiastic about it and insisted on giving her a 20% discount.

Zhao Bo tremblingly pulled out his credit card and handed it to the clerk. Hearing the text message notification, his smile became even more bitter.

He pulled Su Xiaoyu out of the cake shop, one foot deep and the other shallow, and took a deep breath.

"Su Xiaoyu, what did I owe you in my past life? Tell me, and I'll pay you back. Can you please stop torturing me like this?!"

Su Xiaoyu tilted her head back with the calm demeanor of a big shot and beckoned to him.

Zhao Bo bent down helplessly, "What are you going to say now...?"

My cheek was suddenly lightly pecked by something warm and soft.

"Huh?"

Zhao Bo was completely stunned, and then another voice rang in his ears: "I like Uncle the most."

After Su Xiaoyu finished speaking, she turned around and skipped away.

Zhao Bo remained where he was, staring blankly at her retreating figure, as if he had been paralyzed by acupuncture.

After he realized what had happened, a silly grin slowly crept onto his face, but he still stubbornly insisted, "Su Xiaoyu, don't think you can get away with using your beauty! I'm not that easy to talk to!"
