Duan Sisi rushed out of the room and saw Miaowu lying on the ground.
Meow's right front paw was trembling uncontrollably, too afraid to touch the ground, and was half-raised in the air.
Duan Sisi felt heartbroken when she saw it.
She gently held it in her arms and called out, "Meow, are you alright?"

It let out a weak meow.

Duan Sisi couldn't take it anymore when she heard her repeat the word "beast" over and over again, and jumped up from the ground with a "whoosh".

Qiao Xiufen was immediately enraged by her words.

Duan Sisi glanced expressionlessly at the monitor on the floor air conditioner and asked again, "Mom, I'm asking you one last time, did Miaowu really hurt you on purpose?"

After Qiao Xiufen finished speaking angrily, Duan Sisi slowly raised her hand and pointed to the monitor on the air conditioner.

Following her words, Qiao Xiufen turned her head and looked at the surveillance camera. The moment she saw it, her face turned pale, and all her previous imposing manner vanished.

"Since Mom is so wronged, I must prove her innocence and uphold justice."
Duan Sisi finished speaking through gritted teeth and slowly walked towards the surveillance camera.
Qiao Chen looked at Qiao Xiufen, whose body had gone limp, thought for a moment, and then shouted at Duan Sisi, "Sisi, that's enough! What else do you want to do? Don't be so unreasonable!"
Duan Sisi was utterly incredulous when she heard this.
She stopped and turned to look at Qiao Chen. "Qiao Chen, am I being unreasonable? Did you see how badly Miaowu is hurt? What did it do wrong? It's so timid and docile, and not only did it get kicked for no reason, it was also called a beast."
Duan Sisi grew angrier and angrier, blurting out, "Isn't your mother just bullying it because it can't talk? She can spout all sorts of nonsense, black and white!"
Qiao Chen interrupted angrily, "Duan Sisi! My mother is your elder, can't you show her any respect?!"

Duan Sisi had realized she had misspoke, but when she saw his raised hand, her eyes widened and she changed her mind.
She looked at the hand that suddenly stopped in mid-air, and leaned her face towards it with a mocking smile.
"Qiao Chen, you're going to hit me again! Go ahead and hit me! Hit me!"
Qiao Chen gritted her teeth and glared at her. After a long standoff, she finally snapped and angrily threw her hand down.
"Duan Sisi, that's enough! You've been incredibly unreasonable today. First, you deliberately embarrassed my mom over a bowl of pork rib soup, then you made a scene while washing dishes and your face. I've tolerated and forgiven you time and time again, but you show no gratitude whatsoever. What else do you want?"
Duan Sisi wanted to laugh when she heard this.
"Qiao Chen, did I cause all this? Did I want to make the atmosphere at home like this? It's all because your mother deliberately stirred things up! You should ask your mother what she wants to do!"
Qiao Xiufen lowered her face and apologized to Duan Sisi: "Sisi, I was wrong about this. I apologize to you. Please don't argue with Qiao Chen anymore. He has to go to work tomorrow. Let's not fight anymore, okay?"
Duan Sisi was completely stunned to see her expression change so drastically.
"Mom, do you really want to apologize to me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Qiao Chen's face darkened.

She sniffed and walked quickly out of the residential area.
Duan Sisi was so focused on her own sadness that she kept walking forward, completely unaware of the cigarette butt that was flickering on and off behind the tree on the lawn.
Sheng Feichen watched Duan Sisi's lonely figure, and slowly curled the corners of his mouth. He turned his head, looked around, threw away his cigarette butt, and quickly followed after her.
