Chapter 349 Tea Talk and Tea Language

Yi An followed Su Yan closely like a shadow as they entered the elevator.

"Why didn't you answer my calls?" he asked, feeling very aggrieved.

Su Yan deliberately avoided his mournful gaze, turning her head to the side of her collar, and casually replied, "Busy."

The simple word "busy" made Yi'an feel even more aggrieved.

"So busy you don't even have time to answer a phone call?" He looked incredulous. "No way, I'm going to call Ms. Meng and ask her properly, are you an animal? How can you be treated like this!"

Seeing him take out his phone while speaking, Su Yan immediately reached out and pressed the button.

"Yi'an, you're an adult now, don't be so childish, okay?"

Yi An pointed to herself, asking again, "Am I naive?"

Su Yan nodded seriously, not forgetting to add insult to injury: "Not only is it childish, but it's also a bit unreasonable."

The elevator doors opened slowly with a "ding".

Yi An watched Su Yan's departing figure without looking back, her face filled with deep sorrow.

He quickly caught up with them and loudly expressed his dissatisfaction.

"Su Yan, you've changed! You weren't like this before! You've changed, you don't care about me anymore!"

When Su Yan looked over, Yi An immediately turned her head away.

He sniffed and said in a deliberately aggrieved tone, "I lost my temper just now. I was just in a bad mood. You don't need to worry about me. Just go and do your work. Don't worry about whether I live or die!"

Su Yan felt a strong aroma of green tea wafting towards her. Is this the modern-day "little male tea"?

Su Yan walked slowly to him and leaned her head close to his face.

Yi'an felt the hot breath on her face, and like a shy little wife, she moved away to the side, still talking sweetly.

"I'm really fine. You should go back to work. I don't want them to have any opinions about you because of me."

Su Yan smiled and interrupted him softly, "I've already done this trick before."

Yi An was stunned for a moment, then turned around and saw Su Yan's smiling eyes.

Su Yan didn't hesitate at all, took out her keys, opened the door, and was about to go inside.

Yi An panicked at the sight and rushed forward, grabbing the door to block it.

Su Yan leaned leisurely against the door frame, tilting her head and smiling at him, "What do you want to play now?"

“Actually, my problem is quite easy to solve. Why don’t you consider taking a look?” Yi An suggested in a low voice.

Su Yan: "How do we solve this?"

Yi An touched her stomach, looking at her with an innocent and pitiful expression, "I'm hungry."

Su Yan couldn't help but laugh at his pitiful appearance.

Yi An was the kind of person who would brighten up at the slightest bit of sunshine. As soon as she saw Su Yan's expression improve, she immediately opened the door and went inside.

There wasn't much food left at home, so Su Yan grabbed a box of frozen dumplings from the freezer and cooked them for him.

Even so, Yi'an ate with great relish.

After a hearty meal, Yi'an patted her belly and slumped contentedly in her chair.

"Oh, I really envy Xiaobao. He gets to eat your homemade meals every day. I wish I could have that kind of luck too."

He sighed and made pointed remarks while repeatedly gesturing to Su Yan with his eyes, but Su Yan pretended not to understand anything.

Yi'an's tea talk failed, and she clicked her tongue. The image of Su Xuehai's illness involuntarily popped into her mind again.

He glanced furtively at Su Yan's expression and cautiously asked, "Have you heard about your father's situation?"

Su Yan's upturned lips suddenly froze. She slowly raised her head and stared straight at him.

"What exactly are you trying to say?"

Yi An hesitated before speaking, but after glancing at Su Yan's eyes, he finally said everything he wanted to say.

"I visited your dad a couple of days ago, he..."

Before Yi An could finish speaking, Su Yan interrupted her urgently, "Why are you going to see him?"

Yi'an listened to her unfriendly question but did not answer. Instead, she continued to speak.

"His condition is very bad. The nurse said that he suffered a brain hemorrhage, which caused cognitive impairment, also known as Alzheimer's disease. Moreover, his condition is very serious, he cannot withstand any stimulation, and there is a possibility of relapse at any time."

After he finished speaking, Su Yan's face was completely devoid of warmth.

"So, all that trouble you went through, from catching him in the act to all that teasing and arguing, was just to get me to go see him, is that it?"

Yi An blinked rapidly, somewhat confused herself. Was that what he meant?

Before he could figure it out himself, Su Yan spoke again.

"Yi'an, I do have two children with you, but haven't you misjudged our relationship? If you've forgotten, let me remind you again: we have a marriage of convenience, it's written in black and white. You have no right to interfere with my personal freedom, and please don't meddle in my family affairs!"

She enunciated each word very heavily, her face full of seriousness.

Yi An hurriedly explained, "Su Yan, that's not what I meant. I just felt..."

Su Yan quickly looked away, unwilling to look at him anymore, and impatiently gave him the order to leave: "You've eaten, Mr. Yi, you should go now."

Yi An was stunned by her merciless attitude, then slammed her hand on the table, stood up, angrily opened the door, and walked out.

He stood with his back to Su Yan inside the door, but couldn't help but speak, "Su Yan, I'm really leaving..."

Before the word "了" could even be uttered, the door behind him slammed shut with a "bang".

Yi An turned her head and stared incredulously at the closed door, her chest heaving more and more violently.

"Su Yan, you'll regret missing out on me!" he yelled at the door.

Inside the room, Su Yan leaned against the door, her eyes trembling uncontrollably. She slowly closed her eyes, quietly listening to the lingering footsteps outside the door gradually fade into the distance.

Private dining room.

Qiao Chen saw Duan Sisi arrive late and got up to greet her. As he took the coat Duan Sisi had taken off, he scolded her, "Why are you so late? Your parents have been waiting for a long time."

Duan Sisi looked at her parents with a face full of apology, "Mom and Dad, I'm sorry, I'm late."

Duan Jingwei and Geng Ling were overjoyed to see Duan Sisi, so they didn't blame her at all. Qiao Xiufen, on the other hand, looked very dissatisfied.

"Sisi, as a junior, you should know better than to keep your elders waiting for so long! This is only because we are family. If we were outside, who knows what other people would say about you!" Qiao Xiufen scolded.

Duan Sisi knew she was in the wrong, so she didn't argue with her and took the initiative to admit her mistake.

"Mom, it was my fault. I'll definitely be more careful next time!"
