Su Xuehai's gaze slowly moved upwards, and when it landed on Su Yan's face, he was slightly taken aback. He seemed to be recalling something, his brows furrowed, and he scrutinized Su Yan repeatedly.
Once he could make out something, his muddled eyes gradually cleared, as if some emotion was slowly gathering in them.
He suddenly became restless, pointing at Su Yan and yelling, "Ahhh!!!"
This unusual behavior left the nurse who wheeled him out to sunbathe bewildered, and she quickly asked, "What's wrong?"
Su Yan stared intently at Su Xuehai, her legs feeling like lead, unable to move an inch.
The mist blurred her vision and obscured Su Xuehai's familiar figure, giving her a chance to catch her breath.
She seized the opportunity, backed away, and tried to escape.
But before Su Yan could move, Su Xuehai shakily stood up from his wheelchair and lunged at her.
Su Yan had no ability to resist at all. He pounced on her and knocked her to the ground. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn't break free.
Su Xuehai stared intently at her, his gaze unreadable, and he mumbled two indistinct words through his saliva.
"Yan Yan—"
Looking at the face so close to hers, Su Yan felt as if she had been hit by a heavy hammer, and her mind went completely blank.
She even forgot to breathe; double images appeared before her eyes, two identical faces showing up in front of her.
"Su Yan! You've completely disgraced me! What use is a daughter like you to me now?"
Accompanied by a hysterical roar, a pair of invisible hands tightened their grip on Su Yan's throat.
The feeling of suffocation made Su Yan gasp for breath. Her face turned red, and her hands waved helplessly, trying to break free from this invisible hand.
Tears streamed freely from her terrified eyes, covering her face and ruining her makeup.
Seeing this, the nurse hurriedly came over to help Su Xuehai up, put him in a wheelchair, and pushed him back.
After she settled Su Xuehai in, she went back to check on Su Yan. Su Yan was still in the same position, huddled there trembling.
"Miss."
The nurse tentatively patted Su Yan's shoulder, but to her surprise, Su Yan suddenly screamed and then burst into a wail.
"Ah!!! Help!!!"
The nurses were so frightened that they fell to the ground, not knowing what to do.
Yi An, who was passing by, heard the sound and turned her head casually, and immediately saw Su Yan.
He could hardly believe his eyes. After confirming it several times, he rushed over in one stride.
"Su Yan? Su Yan!"
He grabbed Su Yan's shoulder, and Su Yan flinched in fear, then began to struggle violently.
Yi An was stunned, but seeing the fear on her face, she immediately hugged her tightly, holding her body close to prevent her from resisting.
At first, Su Yan struggled with all her might, but as her resistance weakened, her movements gradually slowed down, and she eventually quieted down.
Although Yi'an saw that she was no longer resisting, she could still hear faint sobs in her ear.
At that moment, he didn't know what words to use to describe his feelings; it was even more painful than the physical injury.
Yi An helped Su Yan to a quiet spot and sat her down on a bench, while he went to get her a cup of hot water.
When she returned, Su Yan had returned to her usual self, her eyes calm. However, the dried tear tracks on her face hinted that she had been crying.
Yi An brought the hot water to her, and seeing her accept it, she slowly asked, "What happened?"
Su Yan stopped drinking water, sat there silently with her head down, her fingers tracing the inside of the cup, without uttering a sound.
Yi Anrou lowered her gaze and asked more patiently, "Is it related to your father?"
Despite trying to calm herself down, Su Yan's hand trembled uncontrollably upon hearing the address, and she almost dropped the paper cup in her hand.
Yi An quickly helped her up and stopped asking questions, already having a pretty good idea of what was going on in her mind.
He stared at Su Yan in silence for a while, then suddenly stood up, walked slowly to her, and squatted down.
"Su Yan," Yi An called out, grabbing her hand. "Even if you're unwilling to share your pain with me, can you give me a chance, a chance to help you, please?"
He asked in a low voice, his eyes full of pleading.
Su Yan slowly looked up, her eyes meeting his, and her pupils involuntarily contracted. She wanted to run away quickly, but Yi An grabbed her hand.
Su Yan had no choice but to meet his gaze, her vulnerability and struggle fully exposed to his eyes.
She didn't know how much time had passed when Su Yan suddenly let out a sigh of relief and weakly uttered a "good".
Yi An could hardly believe his ears. After confirming with his eyes several times, he excitedly got up, wanting to hug Su Yan, but forcibly pulled his outstretched hand back.
"Don't worry, I will definitely not let you down."
Listening to his confident words, Su Yan felt a deep bitterness in her heart.
Is there really anyone who can help her out of this predicament?
Yi An was unaware of her inner turmoil; she simply turned around excitedly to call Zhao Bo.
As soon as the call connected, he asked urgently, "What was the name of that really famous psychologist you introduced me to last time?"
Zhao Bo was stunned by his question.
"Didn't you firmly refuse last time? What happened? Have you suddenly realized your abnormal work behavior?"
Yi An didn't have time to banter with him and quickly explained, "It wasn't me. I introduced it to a friend. A friend needs it."
Zhao Bo wanted to ask more about his friend's identity, but Yi An didn't give him the chance. He was immediately interrupted by Yi An: "Send me the contact information on my phone, quickly! I need it urgently!"
After Yi An finished speaking, she hung up the phone.
After Zhao Bo sent the psychologist's contact information and address, Su Yan finished touching up her makeup, and along with her appearance, her emotions were also tidied up.
Now, even a close examination from head to toe reveals no trace of her past breakdown.
Before Su Yan got into the car with Yi An, she received a phone call from her secretary.
As she got into the car, she replied, "Just tell me what's wrong. I'm not in a convenient position to go back right now."
Seeing that Su Yan was busy making a phone call, Yi An simply put the seatbelt on for her.
Su Yan felt the sudden warm breath on her face and subconsciously shrank back. Her startled eyes stared straight at Yi An, and she even forgot to speak.
Yi An could clearly hear the secretary's questioning voice on the other end of the phone: "President Su? President Su, are you still there?"
