He Ziming smiled bitterly as he listened to her blunt and sarcastic remarks.
Perhaps she hasn't forgotten the pain she caused her.
He pretended not to hear anything and casually asked, "How have you been these years? How is Dad... oh no, Uncle?"
Upon hearing this, Su Yan's breath hitched, and she became somewhat agitated.
She tugged at her apron. "Didn't you see it yourself? Are you happy that I'm not doing well?"
He Ziming was truly surprised to find her working as a waitress here. Thinking he had touched a nerve, he hurriedly explained, "I didn't mean that, Yan Yan. I..."
Su Yan ignored what he was about to say and raised her hand to stop him from speaking the rest of his words.
Her face returned to its usual cold yet polite expression. "Mr. He, if you're not going to order, please take your time. Welcome to visit us again."
After saying that, she walked straight to the front desk without even glancing at it.
The cashier, Wenrou, had noticed something amiss. She appeared to be handling the transactions normally, but her eyes kept lingering on Su Yan with concern.
When she saw Su Yan walk in, she immediately came up to her and asked, "Sister Yan, are you alright?"
Su Yan smiled and shook her head. "It's nothing. It's just that we had a difficult customer. You can continue with your work. I can handle it."
Hearing her say that, Wenrou didn't press the matter further and continued with her cashier duties.
He Ziming stood there, staring at Su Yan for a long time, before finally sighing and slowly walking to the order counter to place his order as usual.
"Sir, an Americano, is that right?"
She asked in a gentle, polite, and courteous manner, but her eyes were actually scrutinizing He Zimo standing in front of her.
He Ziming was tall and slender with a gentle appearance. The brand-name, yet exceptionally luxurious suit he wore made him look like a business tycoon.
However, it seems that this is indeed the case.
Wenrou vaguely remembered seeing this face on television.
But what is his relationship with Sister Su Yan?
As Wenrou secretly observed He Zimo, two more people walked into the coffee shop.
As Zhao Bo led Yi An inside, he patted his chest and said generously, "This coffee shop is newly opened, it's on me."
Yi'an rarely saw him so generous, and chuckled lightly, teasing, "What? Did the sun rise in the west today?"
He really wanted to go back and take a look, but Zhao Bo stopped him.
"The sun didn't rise in the west, but I have two free coupons."
Yi'an knew that someone as stingy as Zhao Bo would never suddenly become generous.
Zhao Bo casually pointed to a corner seat, "American style, right?"
Yi An smiled and nodded. Just as she sat down, a dark figure darted over like a thief.
He looked up and realized that the thief was none other than Zhao Bo.
"What's wrong? Why didn't you order anything and instead came here?"
Zhao Bo pointed mysteriously at the order counter, "Take a look and see who those two are."
Yi An frowned and looked in the direction he was pointing, her brows furrowing even more tightly.
"He Ziming and Su Yan? How did they end up together?"
As he was speaking, Zhao Bo suddenly pressed his head down, shoving him under the table.
What are you doing?!
Yi An irritably slapped his hand away, and when she looked up again, He Zimo was no longer at the order counter.
Yi An looked around and found He Zimo in a seat not far away.
Although the two were close together, He Zimo didn't easily notice them because of the angle.
Yi An turned around and glared at Zhao Bo, while straightening her disheveled clothes.
"Why are you hiding? You're acting like a thief."
Seeing that he was biting the hand that fed him and didn't appreciate his kindness, Zhao Bo immediately retorted, "Brother, you need to understand your current identity. If you appear in front of both of them at the same time, aren't you afraid that the plan will be exposed!"
Yi An pursed her lips, "You make it sound like I'm some kind of shameful mistress."
Although he complained, his body language betrayed him by burying himself further into his seat.
He Ziming's mind was entirely focused on Su Yan, so he naturally didn't notice Yi An's presence.
Although he was casually chatting with the man opposite him, his shifty gaze ultimately lingered on Su Yan.
Even the man opposite him could see it.
"Mr. He is really a romantic. He has a virtuous wife at home, but he still has another beautiful woman in his heart."
His teasing words didn't make He Ziming happy; instead, they made him look a little embarrassed.
The man probably never imagined that his virtuous wife and beautiful woman were now in completely different positions than they had been five years ago.
To avoid any further direct interaction with He Ziming, Su Yan stayed at the front desk and didn't go out.
It wasn't that she was afraid of He Zimo, but she simply didn't want to have any more contact with such scum.
But her not coming out doesn't mean He Ziming won't go.
Even the longest conversation must eventually come to an end. Seeing that the conversation was going nowhere, He Ziming simply walked straight to the front desk.
He took out a business card, handed it to Wenrou, and said politely, "Please pass this business card to Su Yan and tell her I'm waiting for her reply."
Wenrou hesitated for a moment, but still accepted it.
After saying nothing more, He Ziming turned and walked out with the man who was waiting for him.
Wenrou looked down at the business card and couldn't help but read it aloud: "Chengyan Technology".
A scene from her memory suddenly flashed into her mind: "Is he He Zimo from Chengdu Research Institute of Technology?"
As she cried out in surprise, Su Yan slowly walked out as well.
Wenrou turned her head and saw her. She had just called out "Sister Yan" when Su Yan snatched the business card from her hand and threw it directly into the trash can.
Wenrou paused for a moment, looked at the name card inside the trash can, and said nothing more.
It was already evening when Duan Sisi returned to the shop looking exhausted.
The coffee shop was lit with a warm yellow light, and there were only a few customers left, sitting sparsely in the coffee shop.
"Honey, I'm home!"
As soon as Duan Sisi entered the door, she felt energized.
But no matter how many times she called out, Su Yan didn't come out to greet her.
She walked up to the front desk, puzzled, and asked Wenrou, who was about to leave work, "Where's your sister Yan?"
Wenrou pointed in a direction and whispered, "Sister Yan seems to be in a bad mood."
Duan Sisi nodded knowingly and turned to walk towards Su Yan.
As soon as she walked up to the table, she saw a table full of beer, and her brows immediately furrowed.
"Su Yan, you're really something! I opened a coffee shop, and you're just giving me beer, huh!"
Su Yan hugged her beer, tilted her head back and laughed, her face flushed, clearly drunk.
"Come here, sit down quickly."
She affectionately pulled Duan Sisi to sit down.
"Guess who I saw today?" she said mysteriously.
