Chapter Thirty-Five: A Special Origin

Gao Shuyun was worried that she would not be able to handle going out for drinking and socializing on an empty stomach in the morning. But then she saw the car parked in front of a teahouse.

"Discussing investment projects in a teahouse, how elegant!"

She turned to Changqun and teased him.

She can still laugh now, but she won't be able to laugh when she goes inside and sees Su Yan.

Changqun hurriedly led her inside, and after telling the waiter that he was "President Su," she was immediately led to a private room.

Changqun wasn't in a hurry to go in; he took a deep breath.

Gao Shuyun rarely saw him so nervous, and she realized how important the people inside the house were to her family, so she also became extremely alert.

Since they specifically asked her to come, they must value her highly, so she must make the most of her time.

"Honey, don't be nervous, you can do it!"

In response to her encouragement, Changqun's expression softened, and he pushed open the door and walked in with a broad smile.

"President Su, it's great to finally meet you in person!"

Upon entering and seeing Su Yan sitting in the middle, he immediately burst into laughter and offered compliments.

Su Yan didn't speak, but instead looked behind him.

Changqun immediately understood her meaning, moved aside to make room, and took the initiative to introduce her: "This is my wife, Gao Shuyun."

Gao Shuyun also adjusted her emotions, revealing a bright and standard smile, trying her best to make this foolish and rich CEO Su feel her sincerity as soon as possible.

"President Su, my husband Chang has been talking about you for a long time, and seeing you today is truly wonderful..."

When she looked up, all the words she wanted to say stuck in her throat.

"What... are you doing here?"

She stared at the smiling Su Yan in front of her as if she had seen a ghost.

Changqun was also stunned, his gaze shifting back and forth between Su Yan and Gao Shuyun.

"You two know each other?"

He turned to Gao Shuyun in surprise and asked.

Gao Shuyun's face turned pale. She didn't answer, but instead asked Chang Qun, "Is she President Su?"

Looking at the contrasting expressions on the faces of the couple in front of her, Su Yan slowly curled the corners of her lips and answered Chang Qun's question.

“We’re more than just acquaintances; we have a special connection! My daughter and your son attend the same kindergarten.”

At first, Changqun was completely confused, but after hearing the next sentence, he suddenly understood.

"That's such a coincidence!"

Compared to his unexpected surprise, Gao Shuyun was not so happy.

Her face was deathly pale, and now she finally understood why this CEO Su had specifically asked her to come.

With a complicated expression, she tugged at Chang Qun's sleeve and whispered, "I'm not feeling well. Let's go. We don't want this investment anymore. Can we find someone else?"

Her voice was almost pleading.

Changqun became anxious upon hearing this and slapped her hand away.

"What are you talking about! Right now, besides President Su, who else is willing to take care of this mess? You're quite familiar with her, so you absolutely have to help me win her over!"

Gao Shuyun was truly suffering in silence.

How could she tell Changqun that her special relationship with Su Yan was not good at all, but rather a deep-seated hatred?

To prevent her from running away, Changqun forced her to sit down.

"I never knew there was such a connection. She didn't tell me about it when she got home."

"Really?" Su Yan crossed her arms and rested her chin on them, saying meaningfully, "I thought Chang Zishi's mother had already told you about this."

Changqun couldn't understand the hidden meaning in her words and was busy trying to make amends for Gao Shuyun.

"She's easygoing and doesn't talk much."

Su Yan echoed expressionlessly, "Oh, she really doesn't talk much."

She emphasized the words "loves to talk".

Although Gao Shuyun kept her head down, she could still feel Su Yan's burning gaze, which remained fixed on her for a second.

She was still completely baffled. How could Su Yan be the CEO Su who made the investment?

She had clearly heard that Su Yan had no background whatsoever and was just a single mother.

It was this false information that emboldened her to so openly attack Su Xiaoyu.

Seeing that the atmosphere was very harmonious, Changqun brought up the main topic at the right time.

"Mr. Su, what are your thoughts on our company's investment project?"

Su Yan glanced at his expectant gaze, then turned her attention back to Gao Shuyun.

"That depends on how your wife behaves."

She clapped her hands, and the door to the private room was pushed open.

Waiters filed in carrying bottles of baijiu, placing them neatly on the table.

Changqun looked very surprised when he saw this.

"What does President Su mean by this?"

He had prepared himself to drink, but when Su Yan mentioned coming to the teahouse, he assumed he wouldn't be drinking. He never expected to face such a large gathering.

Su Yan smiled casually and said, "Like I said, it depends on your wife's performance."

"How could that be! If we drink all of this, we'll get alcohol poisoning and end up in the hospital!" Changqun instinctively refused.

Even someone like him, who was used to battling it out at drinking parties, felt a chill when he saw these things, let alone Gao Shuyun.

Su Yan dismissively replied with an "Oh," and added, "He was destined to die young, so who can you blame?"

Gao Shuyun found these words extremely familiar; weren't these the very words she had said to Su Xiaoyu back then?

She was already fully aware of Su Yan's purpose.

She looked at the liquor, clenched her teeth, but just couldn't bring herself to drink it.
