Chapter Thirty-Seven: Bisexual

Amidst the strange looks from the police officers, Su Yan paid the fine and happily drove to the market to buy fresh pork bones to make soup for Su Xiaoyu to nourish her body.

She hummed a little tune as she busied herself in the kitchen, when suddenly Duan Sisi's words came to mind.

"If it weren't for Yi'an, Xiaoyu really wouldn't be unharmed this time. Although he's a scumbag, we still need to distinguish between things, one thing at a time, right?"

Su Yan suddenly stopped chopping scallions. She stood there for a few seconds, then tiptoed up the top of the cupboard and took down another thermos.

Su Yan carefully carried two insulated containers and got into a taxi. Just then, Zhao Bo rushed to the hospital to comfort the injured.

Upon entering the ward, Zhao Bo, like an old man, stood with his hands behind his back, clicking his tongue as he admired the ward.

"I never imagined in my life that I would come to the urology ward to visit patients."

He grabbed Yi An's hand and squeezed it firmly twice.

"Thank you, brother, for giving me this incredibly rare opportunity."

The veins on Yi An's forehead bulged. She couldn't stand his gloating and smug look. She wanted to kick him, but she was too injured to move.

He could only threaten with words: "You'd better disappear from my sight until my injuries heal. Otherwise, I'll make you disappear for the rest of your life!"

But his harsh words, uttered through gritted teeth, posed no threat to Zhao Bo.

Zhao Bo grinned and came closer, asking with a face full of curiosity, "How did you manage to hurt yourself there?"

Yi An glared at him irritably, "Get lost!"

Zhao Bo nudged him with his shoulder, "We're good brothers, tell me your experience so I can learn from it and take precautions in the future."

Yi'an realized that he wasn't there to learn from experience; he was clearly there to see her make a fool of herself.

But he still said in a muffled voice, "I accidentally bumped into the steps when I fell down."

Zhao Bo looked astonished. "That's it? You managed to make it like this?"

Yi An looked in the direction he was pointing and silently shifted her bottom to the side.

"And there just so happens that there is a pebble of medium size on that step."

He tried to make his words sound ordinary.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Bo immediately burst into laughter, bending over with laughter and tears streaming down his face.

"Dude, this is so tragic! It must be fate!"

Yi An didn't want to pay attention to him, so she turned her head to the side, out of sight, out of mind.

Zhao Bo, still oblivious to his surroundings, moved closer to him again, "So how do you change the dressing? Nurse? Doctor?"

He's like a walking encyclopedia of questions, always asking the same ones.

Yi An was slightly irritable and picked up a pillow, throwing it viciously at him.

Just then, the door to the ward opened, and the nurse came in with the medicine.

"The medication has been changed."

She glanced at Zhao Bo and looked at him as if she had discovered some treasure.

“Your family is here, so let him help.”

Before Yi An could answer, she instructed Zhao Bo, "Be careful not to tear the wound open."

She shoved the medicine tray into Zhao Bo's hands and turned to leave.

Zhao Bo stared blankly at her retreating figure, muttering, "Brother, how unpopular are you?"

He paused for a moment, then added, "Or is it that your brother isn't popular?"

Yi An gritted her teeth in anger, "If you don't want me to die in front of you, get out of here right now!"

Seeing his face turn red with anger, Zhao Bo immediately changed his tone.

"Oh, he was just joking. Okay, let's get the dressing changed and then leave."

He put the medicine tray aside and coaxed her like a child.

As he approached, Yi An fearfully covered her last line of defense.

What are you going to do?

Zhao Bo replied matter-of-factly, "Change the dressing! What else could it be? I'm not interested in you! I'm straight! Straight as a rock!"

Despite his emphasis, Yi'an remained uneasy, constantly shuffling backward and shaking her head.

"No, no need, I can do it myself, don't bother."

Zhao Bo chuckled mischievously as he looked at his shy expression.

"Look at you, what's there to hide between us? Come on, let's be honest with each other!"

He took Yi An's arm.

Yi'an felt like dying at that moment, and she desperately tried to shrink back.

"No, no, no, I don't think our relationship has reached that point yet. Don't be so impatient! Your hand! Your hand, your hand, your hand!!!"

Yi An's screams, mixed with Zhao Bo's loud laughter, echoed throughout the ward.

Zhao Bo was furious that he had wasted half a day's effort and accomplished nothing.

"What are you being shy about! Everyone has one, why are you hiding it like it's a precious treasure! Hurry up! I need to finish applying the medicine so I can leave!"

Zhao Bo impatiently pulled at Yi An, who struggled desperately.

After a few exchanges, the two of them fell off the hospital bed.

Zhao Bo landed heavily on Yi An with a thud.

Yi An let out a muffled groan, then glanced down in horror.

"It seems the wound has reopened."

"ah!"

Zhao Bo screamed in terror and frantically tried to pull down his pants.

"Let me see!"

Just then, the door was opened again.

The two turned around in a daze and saw Su Yan standing at the door with a thermos.

The look of horror on her face deeply affected the two of them.

"No...no!"

Zhao Bo hurriedly got up, ready to explain, but Su Yan stopped him by raising her hand.

"It's okay, I understand."

Su Yan gave him a knowing look, like they were both adults, and then gestured towards him with her lips.

"Keep going, don't worry about me!"

She carefully retreated.

Zhao Bo froze on the spot. "What do you know?!"

Yi An gritted her teeth and lay there, her face flushed.

He helplessly tugged at Zhao Bo's trouser leg, "I think I need a doctor."

Su Yan walked out of the ward, still shaken. She had only taken a few steps when she saw a group of doctors rushing into Yi An's ward.

She was still in a daze, thinking, "He... he's bisexual? What a jerk!"

She shook her head, looked troubled, and took the elevator back to Su Xiaoyu's ward.

In the ward, Duan Sisi was feeding Su Xiaoyu soup when she turned her head and saw Su Yan walk in thoughtfully. She glanced at her again and noticed that the soup she was carrying was still intact.

"Didn't you go to deliver the soup?" she asked in surprise.

"he!"

Su Yan had just uttered a word when she noticed that Su Xiaoyu was still there, so she swallowed back the words that were on the tip of her tongue.

Duan Sisi noticed that Su Yan seemed hesitant to speak, so she finished feeding Su Xiaoyu and took Su Yan to a secluded garden.

"What's wrong? You look so worried."

"Do you know what I saw when I went to Yi'an's hospital room today?"

At this point, Su Yan found it difficult to speak.

She glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then leaned close to Duan Sisi's ear and whispered, "He and Zhao Bo were actually..."
