Chapter 118 Can't You Be a Little More Responsible?

"director!"

He wanted to argue further, but the director told him to leave.

"Stop talking. For the sake of our past relationship, go to the finance department right now, collect three months' salary, and leave the company. Remember, don't cause trouble for yourself or me!"

The director glared at him and then refused to look up at him again.

He Yao swayed precariously, as if he had lost all his balance, and left the office like a walking corpse.

What can you do with three months' salary?

He still has several huge debts on his credit cards, which can't be covered by three months' salary.

Even if he gets the job, how will he make a living without such a good-paying job?

A sense of despair welled up in He Yao's heart. Helpless, he squatted in the corner, smoking one cigarette after another.

"Su Yan." He suddenly remembered Su Yan, like a drowning man finding a piece of driftwood. "Yes, I still have Yan Yan. Yan Yan!"

He Yao casually tossed the cigarette butt aside, frantically searched his contacts for Su Yan's number, and dialed it.

The phone rang twice before being hung up, along with the hope in He Yao's eyes.

While other departments were excitedly gossiping, the design department's office was unusually quiet.

Because Yi An has moved her entire family here, even the director had to move to work with the regular employees.

Everyone was working diligently, barely daring to breathe, when Yi'an suddenly walked out of the office with a document in her hand.

Who made this document?

Seeing his unfriendly tone, everyone's hearts skipped a beat, and their eyes all turned to the document, praying that it wasn't them.

He Man, with her sharp eyes, immediately recognized that the document was submitted by Su Yan.

She immediately stood up with a smile, "Chairman Yi, I know, these are Su Yan's documents!"

As soon as she said that, everyone's eyes turned to Su Yan, some with relief, some with sympathy, and some with schadenfreude.

Su Yan glanced at He Man's smug look, then slowly stood up. "I made this document."

Yi An's expression seemed to darken even further. "Come to my office for a moment!"

He Man almost burst out laughing. "Su Yan, Su Yan, weren't you supposed to be so capable? Why are you so deflated now?"

She sat down happily, her smile stretching almost to her ears.

Xiao Liu also came over with a grin, "Sister He, Su Yan is in for a rough time now!"

The others, seeing the smug looks on the two of them, felt relieved that they hadn't offended them, and at the same time, they all felt a pang of pity for Su Yan.

"How was this document made?!"

Yi An's roar came through the office door, followed by the sound of something slamming onto the table, which sent a chill down the spine of anyone who heard it.

He Man was so excited to watch the commotion that she almost stood on tiptoe, but unfortunately the office blinds were drawn, so she couldn't see what was happening inside.

Su Yan looked at the documents thrown on the table, her expression changed, and she pointed at Yi An.

What happened to my files?

Her words were clearly light and casual, but they gave Yi An a strange shock.

"Your file..."

He watched as Su Yan closed in step by step, stammering and unable to speak. All his previous imposing manner had vanished, and he could only subconsciously back away.

"Why is Chairman Yi silent? What exactly went wrong with my document? Was it the content? The wording? Or does Chairman Yi simply not like it? But even if he doesn't like it, there should be a reason. Please explain everything to me clearly, Chairman Yi!"

Yi An stared blankly at Su Yan's lips, wondering how she could be so fluent, opening and closing them and spitting out so many words that it gave him a headache.

He tripped over something as he stepped back, and ended up falling awkwardly onto the chair.

Su Yan slapped her hands on the armrests of the chair, leaned forward, and moved closer to Yi An.

Yi An swallowed carefully, her uneasy eyes showing a hint of panic.

Su Yan smiled and glanced at him up and down. "Mr. Yi, why is your face so red? Are you sick?"

Yi An almost choked on her saliva. After coughing violently, she pointed at the document in a panic.

"The document... is fine, it's just that I can't understand it here, yes, I can't understand it."

Su Yan straightened up and exaggerated her reaction: "So it was Chairman Yi who couldn't understand the document. Why didn't you say so sooner? You made me so anxious. What don't you understand? Let me explain it to you properly."

Yi An pointed to a spot and said, "Here."

This gave them a chance to catch their breath.

He touched his burning cheeks, his heart pounding in his chest as if it were about to leap out of his throat.

After Su Yan finished her concise explanation, she turned to look at Yi An and asked, "Did you understand, Chairman Yi?"

Yi An looked completely bewildered, not having heard a single word of her explanation.

He pretended to understand and kept nodding.

"I understand, but I still don't understand this part."

He then pointed to another place.

Su Yan seemed to have endless patience, explaining things to him little by little. Her pleasant voice, accompanied by a delicate fragrance, made Yi An momentarily lose his composure.

From his angle, he could see two-thirds of Su Yan's profile.

Her soft, fine hair fell down, partially obscuring her eyebrows and eyes, adding a touch of mystery.

Her eyelashes, like butterfly wings, trembled slightly with each voice, and each tremor seemed to stir his heart.

"Do you understand now, Chairman Yi?"

Lost in thought, Yi An paused, then looked up and met Su Yan's smiling eyes. He was speechless.

"Did you understand, Chairman Yi?"

Su Yan repeated it again.

Yi An finally snapped out of his daze. He turned his head away and coughed twice to cover his embarrassment. "Okay, I understand. You can go out now."

Su Yan looked at his bright red ears, a smile playing on her lips, and whispered, "So my victims are so easily fooled."

These words, though faint and subtle, still drifted into Yi'an's ears.

His face flushed red, and when he turned his head, he could only see the last glimpse of Su Yan leaving the office.

Yi An belatedly touched her face, "Did I get flirted with again?"

He patted his agitated chest in regret, "Can't you be a little more assertive!"

Su Yan walked out of the office, a smile on her face, for nothing seemed amiss.

She lowered her head, feigning a forlorn expression, and walked quickly to her workstation without saying a word.

A colleague sitting nearby kindly asked, "Su Yan, are you alright?"

Su Yan remained silent, keeping her head down the whole time.

He Man immediately burst out laughing when she saw this.

She gloated and cursed, "Serves you right! You'll see if you mess with me again!"
