Zhao Bo parked the car and got out, casually explaining, "No, it's Su Yan's best friend's shop."
His casual tone fueled Feng Lin's jealousy.
Class differences between people are always the most hurtful.
What she considered a luxury was nothing more than a trivial matter in the eyes of these people.
Feng Lin forcibly suppressed her jealousy and took Zhao Bo's hand as they went inside.
The coffee shop was already quite crowded by this time.
Hearing the sound of the wind chimes, Su Yan turned her head and looked over. When she met Feng Lin's gaze, an unfathomable emotion flashed across her eyes.
"You've arrived."
She greeted him with a smile.
Feng Lin carefully examined the decorations in the hall. "Sister Su Yan is really extravagant. She holds such a big birthday party. She's just different from me. I only like to spend time alone with people I care about."
Su Yan replied with a casual smile, "Everyone has different tastes and financial resources, so of course there will be some differences."
Feng Lin seemed to have been hit where it hurt; her face turned pale, and she pursed her lips, remaining silent.
Su Yan pretended to be nonchalant and beckoned them inside.
"You guys go ahead and do your work. Just tell Wenrou what you'd like to drink."
After Feng Lin walked in arm in arm with Zhao Bo, Duan Sisi leaned close to Su Yan and whispered, "Did you smell a particularly strong sour odor?"
Su Yan chuckled twice as she listened to her implied meaning.
"You're not comfortable unless you make sarcastic remarks about others."
Duan Sisi crossed her arms and secretly sized up Feng Lin not far away.
"You're absolutely right about one thing: Zhao Bo has really good taste. His girlfriend is completely out of place with this high-class atmosphere; she exudes a petty, classy vibe."
"Alright!"
Su Yan slapped her, then turned her head and saw two people getting out of the car outside the door.
"Hey, the person who's going to cure you has finally arrived."
Following her words, Duan Sisi looked outside and her expression immediately turned ugly when she saw Qiao Chen and Qiao Xiufen.
"My ancestor who's going to kill me is back again."
Su Yan burst into laughter upon hearing her disheartening words.
She saw Qiao Xiufen walk in and immediately went to greet her warmly.
"Aunt Qiao, you've arrived."
Qiao Xiufen warmly took her hand and said, "Sisi told me that you came over to share in the joy of your child's birthday. Please don't look down on this old woman."
"Of course not!" Su Yan immediately exclaimed with delight.
Qiao Chen then handed the birthday gift to Su Yan, saying, "This is a gift for Hanhan and Xiaoyu."
"You've gone to a lot of trouble."
Su Yan took it and turned to call Su Xiaoyu and Bao Han.
"Xiaoyu, Hanhan!"
When Su Xiaoyu and Bao Han arrived, Su Yan immediately said, "Xiaoyu, Hanhan, call them Grandma and Uncle."
Upon seeing the gift in Su Yan's hand, Bao Han immediately became obedient, sweetly greeting, "Hello, Uncle; Hello, Grandma."
Su Xiaoyu awkwardly uttered, "Uncle, Grandma."
Compared to him, Qiao Xiufen clearly prefers Bao Han.
She cupped Bao Han's little face in her hands, unsure of how to praise him.
"Look at this little guy, he looks so cheerful, just like you."
"Really?" Su Yan replied politely.
Bao Han received different treatment than Su Xiaoyu, and he was extremely proud of himself, his chin practically pointing to the sky.
He then glanced triumphantly in Su Xiaoyu's direction.
Su Xiaoyu met his gaze, but remained expressionless.
Su Yan handed the gifts to them one by one, saying, "Go and play with the gifts Grandma gave you."
Qiao Xiufen watched the two children happily leave, her eyes filled with envy.
"I really envy your parents, they have so many children and grandchildren, unlike me, I'm not blessed, I want to have them but I don't."
Upon hearing this, Duan Sisi's expression immediately changed.
Qiao Chen quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Mom, everyone has their own plans! Sisi and I aren't in a hurry yet. We haven't even finished enjoying our time as a couple, why would we want to have a baby?"
Qiao Xiufen immediately retorted in an annoyed tone: "Aren't you in a hurry? How old are you all? If you're not in a hurry, how will you even be able to have the baby?"
As she spoke, she glanced specifically in Duan Sisi's direction.
Duan Sisi's expression turned even uglier. She completely ignored Qiao Xiufen and asked Qiao Chen, "Did you bring the camera I asked you to bring?"
"I brought it."
Qiao Chen handed her the camera from his bag.
Duan Sisi opened the camera with a stern face and immediately scolded, "You really do go wherever you're told! I told you to bring the camera, couldn't you even check if it had battery! You're driving me crazy every day! You don't care about what you should care about, but you insist on meddling in things you shouldn't!"
She said that, turned around, grabbed her camera, and went to the front desk.
Qiao Xiufen was displeased upon hearing this.
"Sisi, how can you talk like that!"
She tried to find Duan Sisi, but Qiao Chen pulled her away.
"Mom, you've said so much, you must be thirsty. Let's go over there and get something to drink."
Su Yan witnessed a fierce battle between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, which was truly astonishing.
She walked slowly to Duan Sisi's side and gave her a thumbs up.
"Your skill at making veiled insults has improved! You made your mother-in-law so angry her face turned white. You're a master, amazing!"
Duan Sisi couldn't help but smile wryly as she listened to her lavish praise.
"On the surface, it looks like I won, but in reality, I lost terribly!"
She collapsed weakly onto the table, sighing repeatedly.
"This is my retribution! I was even mocking others, but in reality, my life is thinner than paper!"
Seeing her pitiful appearance, Su Yan quickly stroked her fur to comfort her: "Alright, alright! Today is a joyous day, cheer up!"
