Su Yan continued, "So, Chenchen is the only boy?"
Her voice trembled with excitement as she spoke.
Yi An sensed her fluctuating emotions, moved the mouse, and hovered the page over the boy's information.
Su Yan stared at the screen and involuntarily uttered the name: "Bao Han?"
She pointed to a spot on the screen and asked, "Is this his home address?"
Yi An looked in the direction he was pointing, hesitated, and nodded in response, "It should be. If he hasn't moved, this is probably his current home address."
Upon hearing this, Su Yan immediately stood up and was about to run outside.
Yi An was stunned and hurriedly stopped her.
Where are you going?
"Go find Chenchen."
Yi An glanced at the time on the wall. "It's getting late, and Xiao Yu will be back soon. Besides, we haven't prepared anything, and we only know this one address. How about I ask around and confirm the information before we go?"
"But·····"
Su Yan was about to say something urgently when someone suddenly knocked on Yi An's door, interrupting her.
"Yi'an! Yi'an!"
The sound of knocking on the door, accompanied by Zhao Bo's irritable voice, rang out.
"It's Xiaoyu who's back."
Yi An said something to Su Yan and then quickly walked towards the door.
As soon as the door opened, I saw Zhao Bo's face, which was as dark as the bottom of a pot.
"What's wrong? You look so pale?" Yi An asked, puzzled.
Zhao Bo wasn't in the mood to explain to him, and simply extended Su Xiaoyu's hand forward.
"The child has been safely returned, I'm leaving. Please, please, please don't contact me again for anything like this!"
He spat out the last sentence through gritted teeth, and before Yi'an could say anything, he turned and stormed off.
Su Yan and Yi An stood at the door, looking puzzled and angry as they watched Zhao Bo's retreating figure.
"What's wrong?"
The two asked the same question at the same time.
Su Yan squatted down, took Su Xiaoyu's hand, and asked softly, "Xiaoyu, what happened? Why did you make Uncle angry?"
Su Xiaoyu's complexion wasn't much better either.
She pouted and didn't say a word.
Su Yan glanced at Su Xiaoyu, then at Zhao Bo's angry figure disappearing into the elevator door, her brows furrowing.
She and Yi'an looked at each other, both of them filled with question marks.
In Gaojing Hutong, a black sedan slowly pulled up in front of a house.
Upon seeing the parked car, the children playing jump rope in the alley all stopped and craned their necks to look in that direction.
Upon seeing Li Cheng get out of the car, the children shouted, "That uncle is here to see the strange grandpa again!" and ran home.
Following the shout, Li Cheng turned his head and glanced in the direction the children had run off to.
Aunt Zhou, who was sitting at the door across the street picking vegetables, looked at Li Cheng apologetically.
"Mr. Li, please don't mind. These kids are used to being wild and don't know how to keep their mouths shut. Please don't take offense."
Li Cheng didn't take this matter to heart at all.
"It's nothing, Aunt Zhou is picking vegetables."
Aunt Zhou nodded with a smile, "You're here to see Old Su again, aren't you? That man of his, he has such a bad temper, he's like that with everyone. Even with his daughter..."
At this point, Aunt Zhou suddenly stopped, looking somewhat flustered, as if she had said something wrong.
She quickly waved her hand, "Mr. Li, I won't keep you any longer."
Seeing her hesitant expression, Li Cheng became suspicious, but felt it was a matter of privacy and he couldn't bring himself to ask.
He turned and walked towards the closed door, gently knocked, and politely called out, "Mr. Su, are you home?"
There was complete silence inside the room; there was no response whatsoever.
Li Cheng was startled, thinking that Su Xuehai was not at home. He turned to look at Aunt Zhou.
Aunt Zhou gave him a look, and he felt relieved and continued knocking on the door.
After knocking on the door for a while, footsteps approached from inside.
The footsteps were a bit slow, and it took quite a while before the door was opened a crack from the inside.
Upon seeing Li Cheng, Su Xuehai's face immediately darkened, and he said irritably, "What are you doing here again? Haven't I already made myself perfectly clear? No cooperation means no cooperation, and no matter how many times you come, it won't make a difference!"
He finished speaking quickly and was about to close the door.
Seeing him close the door, Li Cheng hurriedly took out the magic weapon Su Yan had given him.
"Mr. Su, please don't be in a hurry. I came here today because I feel sorry for disturbing you for so long, and I thought I would like to bring some gifts to express my apologies."
He immediately presented the wood carvings to Su Xuehai.
Su Xuehai's expression didn't improve much despite his sincere words.
"What gift? I don't accept gifts!"
With a wave of his hand, he knocked the box out of Li Cheng's hand without any hesitation.
The wooden carvings inside the box fell out with a clatter.
Su Xuehai glanced down casually, but his gaze was fixed on the wood carvings.
"These·····"
He wanted to say something, but the words caught in his throat.
Even with his good temper, Li Cheng was somewhat displeased by Su Xuehai's unreasonable behavior.
He was about to say something when his gaze suddenly fell on Su Xuehai, who was squatting down and picking up the wooden carvings on the ground one by one.
Li Cheng froze in place.
Su Xuehai seemed to cherish these things, not only picking them up carefully but also gently patting off the dust.
A light suddenly appeared in Li Cheng's eyes.
It really works! What Su Yan gave him really works!
Just as he was about to get excited, he saw Su Xuehai wrap up all the wood carvings, turn around and go into the house without saying a word.
"Mr. Su!"
Li Cheng rushed forward, but the door slammed shut in front of him with a bang.
Li Cheng was completely dumbfounded, unable to understand Su Xuehai's meaning.
Even Li Cheng's driver couldn't stand it anymore and started to speak up for Li Cheng.
"Mr. Li, how can someone be like this! They accepted the gift without even a thank you, and then they turned us away! They have absolutely no manners!"
The glimmer of light that had finally appeared in Li Cheng's eyes quickly went out.
He sighed and pressed down the driver's indignant hand.
"Forget it, it was originally something that his daughter wanted to give him. We're just passing on what we already have."
The driver hesitated, "So, we're just going to leave it at that?"
Li Cheng did not answer and walked back dejectedly.
Aunt Zhou silently observed everything and couldn't help but comfort him, "Mr. Li, don't be angry or sad. This old man Su has such a strange temper; it's well-known throughout the surrounding area."
“He doesn’t just dislike you; he dislikes everyone. I don’t dare to say more than a word to him on ordinary days.”
After hearing Aunt Zhou's words, Li Cheng felt a little better.
After all, he had done everything he could, but the result was still the same, and there was nothing he could do about it.
