The captain did not answer; instead, he gestured for the soldiers to hide in the bushes by the roadside.
Then he cautiously ventured forward alone.
He crouched low and moved slowly forward along the mountain path, his eyes scanning his surroundings warily.
He walked about a hundred steps and then stopped.
An open space appeared ahead.
A large amount of grain and supplies were piled up on the open ground, and there were several tents nearby.
The tent was brightly lit, and shadows moved about.
The captain smirked; it seemed they had found the enemy's supply depot.
He quietly retreated to where the soldiers were hiding and whispered:
"The granary is just ahead, let's prepare to move in!"
"yes!"
The soldiers responded in hushed tones, their eyes gleaming with excitement.
The captain checked the weapons and equipment again, then waved his hand.
He led his soldiers silently toward the granary.
On the open ground, several soldiers were sitting around a campfire.
They chatted while warming themselves by the fire.
The captain's lips curled into a cold smile, and he thought to himself:
"A bunch of idiots, they don't even realize they're about to die!"
He quietly retreated to where the group was hiding.
Under the cover of night, it was like a leopard merging into the darkness.
He whispered the order:
"Target confirmed. Enemy forces are completely unprepared. Prepare for action!"
The soldiers, who had been unable to contain themselves any longer, heard their captain's order.
They drew their weapons, the swords and blades reflecting a cold light under the starlight, like the fangs of wild beasts.
Their eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty light, like a pack of tigers about to be unleashed.
