"General, you must have misunderstood."
Just as Night Owl was about to explain, Jin Xuanming rudely interrupted him.
"Enough with the nonsense! I can tell you're up to no good! If you know what's good for you, just surrender obediently, or don't blame this general for being merciless!"
Jin Xuanming drew his sword from his waist and pointed it at Night Owl's nose, cursing.
Upon seeing this, Princess Aisha quickly offered an explanation:
"General Jin, you've misunderstood! This...this..."
Aisha was speechless for a moment; she didn't know the name of the Night Owl.
“This young master is the one who saved me. I got lost in the forest before, and this young master saved me and escorted me back to the city.”
Aisha explained eagerly.
Upon hearing this, Jin Xuanming looked at Night Owl suspiciously.
With those sharp eyes, he didn't look like a good person at all.
"Your Highness, you are of noble birth, please do not be deceived by this treacherous person!"
"He must have used some despicable means to coerce you into traveling with him! Guards, seize him!"
Jin Xuanming didn't believe Aisha's explanation at all. With a wave of his hand, the soldiers behind him immediately surrounded Night Owl.
The owl sighed helplessly.
What kind of situation is this?
I tried to help someone, but I was treated like a bad person instead.
"General, I am a local resident. If you don't believe me, you can send someone to verify."
The owl tried to explain again.
"Still trying to argue! Seize him!"
Jin Xuanming gave Night Owl no chance to explain and gave the order.
The soldiers swarmed forward, brandishing their swords and slashing at Night Owl.
Seeing this, the owl knew that further explanation was useless.
He dodged several swords and blades with a swift movement.
Then he drew his short sword and engaged in combat with the Javanese soldiers.
Princess Aisha was terrified by the sudden battle.
She hid behind Jin Xuanming and called out anxiously:
"General Jin, tell them to stop! He really saved my life!"
Jin Xuanming turned a deaf ear, and instead became even more convinced that Night Owl was a treacherous villain.
He snorted coldly, drew his sword, and joined the battle.
The owl moved nimbly, weaving through the flashing blades, as elusive as a ghost.
The short knife in his hand was incredibly swift, each swing bringing with it a flash of cold light.
They forced back the Javanese soldiers who were besieging them.
The blade grazed their skin, leaving only a shallow bloodstain, but not a fatal one.
Night Owl is not a bloodthirsty person; his moves are mainly defensive, stopping short of causing serious injury.
However, these Javanese soldiers pressed on relentlessly.
Swords and blades were drawn simultaneously, each strike deadly, showing no mercy whatsoever.
After Jin Xuanming joined the battle, the pressure on Night Owl increased sharply.
Duke Wu was indeed a seasoned general with many battles under his belt; his swordsmanship was fierce, and his attacks were like a tidal wave.
Each strike carried the force of a thunderbolt, aimed directly at the Night Owl's vitals.
Although Night Owl was a special forces soldier from Shannan Prefecture, he was highly skilled in martial arts.
However, faced with such a fierce offensive and the siege of numerous soldiers, they gradually felt overwhelmed and fell into a disadvantageous position.
Jin Xuanming slashed down with his sword, and Night Owl barely dodged it, but the sharp wind from the blade tore his sleeve.
He knew in his heart that things were not good; if this continued, he would be captured sooner or later.
At the critical moment, the owl spotted an opening.
He ducked to dodge Jin Xuanming's sweeping attack, then slashed with his backhand, leaving a bloody gash on Jin Xuanming's left arm.
"ah!"
Jin Xuanming, in pain, roared:
"You scoundrel, how dare you hurt me!"
He clutched his injured left arm, his face contorted with rage, and swung his knife even more fiercely at Night Owl.
The owl fought and retreated, looking for an opportunity to break through.
As more and more soldiers gathered around, Night Owl gradually felt his strength failing and his breathing became rapid.
He was anxious; things couldn't go on like this, and he had to find a way to break out.
Just then, Princess Aisha suddenly stepped in front of Night Owl and said to Jin Xuanming:
"General Jin, this man saved my life. If you want to kill him, kill me first!"
Jin Xuanming's blade stopped just in front of Aisha.
His eyes widened in anger, and he said through gritted teeth:
"Your Highness, this villain has ulterior motives. You must not be deceived by him!"
"Please step back. I will apologize to you after I have captured this scoundrel!"
"No! I will not back down!"
Aisha stood firmly in front of the night owl, refusing to budge an inch.
Although she was afraid, her eyes were filled with determination.
Night Owl looked at Aisha, who was blocking his way, and his feelings were hard to describe.
He wanted to get away as soon as possible to avoid implicating the princess, but he didn't expect her to protect him so much.
"Your Highness, why are you doing this?"
Night Owl smiled wryly, "I'm just a nobody, not worth your risk."
"You saved me, so you are my benefactor."
Aisha said firmly, "I can't just stand by and watch you get killed by them."
Jin Xuanming was annoyed by Aisha's stubbornness, but dared not be disrespectful to the princess.
He suppressed his anger and roared at the surrounding soldiers:
"Stop it, all of you!"
The soldiers stopped what they were doing, looked at each other, and didn't know what to do.
Jin Xuanming took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
He walked up to Aisha and said in a humble manner:
“Your Highness, I did not mean to offend my benefactor, but it is my duty to act cautiously.”
"Please, Your Highness, make the right judgment."
Aisha looked at Jin Xuanming, her eyes filled with suspicion:
"General Jin, do you really believe he is my savior?"
