Chapter 253 The wolves were driven away, but the tiger came.

At this moment, inside the city lord's mansion, General Chisha was discussing countermeasures with several of his subordinates.

"General, the city gates have been breached, and the Zhang family army is overwhelming. How should we respond?"

One of his officers asked anxiously, rubbing his hands together and sweat beading on his forehead.

General Chisha's expression was solemn. He paced back and forth, pondered for a moment, and then said:

"Pass down the order: all soldiers are to defend the city lord's mansion to the death and fight the Zhang family army to the last man!"

His voice was deep and powerful, conveying a sense of determination.

"Boom!" Another deafening crash rang out, and the gate of the city lord's mansion finally gave way and collapsed.

Wood chips, gravel, and dust flew everywhere, obscuring the sky.

Zhang Tianba laughed loudly as he charged into the swirling dust, his giant hammer dripping with blood.

Zhang's army soldiers followed closely behind, surging into the mansion like a tide, and engaged in a final, desperate battle with the Chisha army.

General Chisha led the charge, wielding a long sword, charging left and right.

He was clad in heavy armor and covered in blood, but his momentum remained undiminished, and each swing of his sword took a life.

The soldiers behind them were also fearless and fought desperately.

Despite being outnumbered, they did not give up hope.

They fought to the very last moment to protect their homeland and defend their dignity.

However, faced with the powerful offensive of Zhang Jiajun, the Chisha Army's resistance became increasingly futile.

Their formation was broken, and soldiers fell one by one, their blood staining every bluestone slab of the government office.

Although General Chisha was highly skilled in martial arts, he was still no match for four opponents.

Several wounds gradually appeared on his body, and fresh blood flowed down the gaps in his armor.

He was panting heavily, his eyes fiercely scanning the enemies around him, while he gripped the long sword in his hand even tighter.

Zhang Tianba grinned maliciously as he approached General Chisha step by step.

He swung his giant hammer, smashing away the Red Sand Army soldiers who stood in his way.

The giant hammer, accompanied by a whistling sound, slammed down hard on General Red Sand.

General Chisha barely dodged the attack, but the enormous impact still caused him to stagger a few steps and nearly fall.

"Red Sand! Prepare to die!"

Zhang Tianba raised his giant hammer again and brought it down on General Chisha's head.

General Chisha fought with all his might, raising his sword to parry.

"Clang!" A piercing metallic clang rang out, sparks flying everywhere.

General Chisha's long sword snapped in two, and his tiger's mouth was also shattered, bleeding profusely.

He let out a muffled groan and involuntarily stepped back.

Zhang Tianba pressed his advantage, swinging his giant hammer once more and smashing it hard into General Chisha's chest.

"Pfft!" General Chisha spat out a mouthful of blood and fell heavily to the ground.

"General!"

Upon seeing this, the remaining Red Sand Army soldiers were overcome with grief and threw down their weapons, kneeling down to surrender.

Shalifei looked at General Chisha lying in a pool of blood, filled with grief and indignation, his eyes turning bloodshot.

He took a deep breath, forcing back the grief in his heart, and shouted:

"Brothers, lay down your weapons and surrender! We've done everything we can!"

Zhang's army soldiers swarmed forward and tied up the surrendered Chisha army soldiers.

"Confiscate weapons and equipment, and take all prisoners into custody!"

Zhang Xinwang coldly gave the order.

The soldiers obeyed and began clearing the battlefield.

Zhang Xinwang curled his lip in disdain, looking down at General Chisha lying on the ground.

"Where are the imperial seal and the imperial edict?"

"In the hands of the butcher."

Even after falling, Akashi retained his final expression, telling the truth.

"I'm already in this state, what's the point of lying to you anymore?"

Zhang Xinwang snorted coldly.

"Not in your hands? Then what use are you to me?"

He made a gesture.

Zhang Tianba understood and slammed the giant hammer in his hand hard onto General Chisha's head.

With a muffled thud, General Chisha's head exploded like a watermelon, splattering red and white matter all over the ground.

The body lay limply on the ground, its death gruesome.

Seeing this, Shalifei was terrified, and his crotch felt warm.

Seeing this, Zhang Tianwang waved his hand dismissively.

Two soldiers from Zhang's army stepped forward, one picked up General Chisha and the other picked up Shalifei, and roughly dragged them aside.

The soldier drew a sharp dagger from his waist, the blade gleaming coldly in the firelight.

With a swift stroke, a head rolled to the ground, blood gushing out and staining the ground red.

Another soldier did the same, and Shalifei's head rolled off the ground.

Zhang Xinwang looked at the two unseeing heads on the ground and a cruel smile crept onto his lips.

He beckoned to one of his personal guards.

"Wash these two heads thoroughly, pack them in a fine wooden box, and send them to Jingzhou City."

The guards obeyed the order and carefully picked up the two heads.

Wipe it clean with a cloth, then place it in an elegant wooden box.

“Tell the Empress of Jingzhou City,”

Zhang Xinwang paused, a sinister glint flashing in his eyes.

"This is my betrothal gift to her. Tell her to wash her neck clean and wait for me!"

The guard hugged the wooden box tightly, bowed, and replied, "Yes!" before turning and leaving.

Zhang Xinwang looked around; the battlefield was littered with corpses and rivers of blood.

He frowned slightly and said to Zhang Tianba beside him:

"Clean up the battlefield and properly bury the bodies of the fallen soldiers."

Zhang Tianba replied in a gruff voice, "Yes, Big Brother!"

He then began directing his soldiers to clear the battlefield.

Some soldiers carried corpses, some collected weapons and equipment, and some treated the wounded.

Zhang Xinwang walked to the side, and a soldier quickly handed him a clean cloth.
