Li Kui quickly waved his hand, no longer daring to tease him.
"How is Miss Chen?"
Lu Yan changed the subject and asked.
"Reporting to Your Excellency, Miss Chen has been settled in and is currently resting in her guest room."
Li Kui quickly replied.
"That's good. You've worked hard."
Lu Yan nodded, feeling somewhat relieved.
"Sir, you should get some rest too. I'm going on patrol."
After Li Kui finished speaking, he turned and left.
Lu Yan watched Li Kui's departing figure and shook his head helplessly.
That kid is really clever.
However, as he passed Chen Qingwan's room, he heard indistinct mutterings coming from inside:
“Lu Yan…Lu Yan…”
It was Chen Qingwan's voice.
Lu Yan paused, puzzled.

Lu Yan walked to the bedside, leaned down, and tried to hear what she was saying.

Chen Qingwan's voice was broken and intermittent, filled with a strong sense of drunkenness and grievance.
