Chapter Ninety-Three: This is the real warship!

Lu Ban II listened to Lu Yan's "guidance".

I silently prayed that the ship wouldn't fall apart as soon as it was built.

In just two hours, Lu Ban II had completed the design of the ship's blueprints.

The "boat" drawn on it made even Lu Yan, let alone the old carpenter, frown.

This thing isn't a boat; it's clearly an extended bathtub.

It was covered with a dense array of cannon barrels, making it look like a hedgehog.

"This... is the warship you were talking about?"

Lu Yan's lips twitched.

Lu Ban II shrank his neck:

"My lord, I have done my best..."

Lu Yan sighed and took the blueprints from Lu Ban II.

Take out the charcoal pencil and start doodling and rewriting directly on it.

He had watched quite a few documentaries before, so he knew a little about the structure of warships.

Although I lack professional knowledge, I can still draw a rough outline.

As Lu Yan's pen moved swiftly and skillfully, a brand-new warship blueprint gradually took shape.

The ship has a long, sleek hull, large displacement, and high speed.

The deck is lined with neatly arranged gun emplacements, giving it a very modern feel.

Everyone present was stunned, and the old carpenter was so shocked that his jaw almost dropped.

"This...this is truly a divine object!"

The old carpenter trembled as he stroked the blueprints.

"Such an ingenious design is something I have never heard of before!"

Lu Yan raised an eyebrow smugly:

"How about that? This is a real warship!"

With the blueprints in hand, the next step is construction.

The warships designed by Lu Yan required a huge amount of timber, and although Shannan Prefecture had abundant timber reserves.

However, such large-scale construction has also led to a shortage of inventory.

Lu Yan immediately ordered that timber be procured from neighboring prefectures and counties as quickly as possible.

They also increased the wages of the craftsmen and worked day and night to finish the work.

In an instant, the entire Shannan Prefecture was abuzz with activity.

Everywhere you looked, there were sounds of logging, sawing, and hammering—it was incredibly lively.

...

Meanwhile, night fell over Java.

The damp sea breeze, carrying a strong fishy smell, wafted towards us.

Tu Rong was dressed in a coarse linen robe and wore a bamboo hat, which covered his weathered face.

He moved through the dimly lit alleys, his steps light and silent, like a raccoon dog.

He knocked on the back door of an inconspicuous little tavern, giving a secret signal of three long and two short knocks.

With a creak, the wooden door opened a crack, revealing a wary face.

After confirming that it was Tu Rong, the people quickly pulled him into the house.

Under the dim light of the oil lamp, several familiar faces came into view.

They were all Tu Rong's trusted former subordinates in the army.

They all looked excited, yet they kept their voices down, afraid of alerting outsiders.

Java is a small country with scarce resources, and its people are known for their fierce nature and reverence for force.

In such an environment, achieving success and making a name for oneself is the dream of almost every passionate young man.

Tu Rong was well aware of this, and he vividly described the prosperity of Shannan Prefecture.

The streets are bustling with traffic, shops are lining the streets, and people live and work in peace and contentment.

He then embellished Lu Yan's extraordinary talent and strategic vision.

It describes how he loved the people like his own children, how he knew how to appoint the right people, and how he reformed and innovated.

The crowd was filled with excitement, wishing they could sprout wings and fly to Shannan Prefecture to serve under Lu Yan.

"Brothers, Shannan Prefecture is in dire need of manpower right now,"

"Lord Lu is eager to find talented people. As long as we go there, wealth and honor will be within our grasp in no time!"

Tu Rong spoke with great passion and his tone was full of allure.

Everyone nodded in agreement, indicating their willingness to follow Tu Rong.

They had long been dissatisfied with the incompetence and foolishness of the Javanese king.

Now that I have the opportunity to seek a better job, I naturally won't let it pass.

However, their actions did not escape the eyes of the King of Java.

"Outrageous! How dare they recruit soldiers under my very nose!"

"Guards! Seize these treacherous officials and rebels!"

The king's roar echoed through the palace, and the guards fell silent, immediately obeying the order and leaving.

The capital of Java, shrouded in night, should have been utterly silent.

But now the lights are on and the place is bustling with people.

Hundreds of soldiers, holding torches, clashed their swords and spears, creating a piercing sound.

They sealed off the city gates and main streets, searching house to house, determined to bring Tu Rong and his accomplices to justice.

Tu Rong and his group hid in an abandoned temple.

As the sounds of the search grew louder and louder outside, everyone's heart was in their throat.

Tu Rong's expression was solemn as he said in a low voice:

"Brothers, it looks like we've been discovered. Prepare to break out!"

"yes!"

The crowd responded in unison, gripping their weapons tightly, their eyes flashing with determination.

Suddenly, the temple gates were kicked open, and the firelight illuminated the dark halls.

Dozens of soldiers rushed in, armed with knives and guns.

"Traitorous scoundrels, surrender now!"

Tu Rong shouted:

"Brothers, let's fight our way out!"

After saying that, he rushed out first, and with a flash of cold light from his steel knife, a soldier fell to the ground.

A fierce battle unfolded inside the temple.

Although Tu Rong and his men were few in number, they were all carefully selected elite soldiers.

Highly skilled in martial arts and fearless in the face of death, they stood back to back, providing cover for each other, and fought desperately against enemies many times their number.

Amidst the flashing blades and flying blood and flesh, screams and roars mingled together, creating a scene resembling a living hell.

Tu Rong charged left and right, as if he were in an empty field.

His steel knife was as fast as lightning, each move deadly, and he felled several enemies in an instant.

He took the lead, boosting morale and leading everyone to fight their way out.
