Chapter 57 We have plenty of time later

Chapter 57 We have plenty of time later

Si Yan sent away the previous patient who came for a follow-up visit. The door of the clinic was pushed open again. When he looked up, he saw that it was Chen Ran who came in.

"Thank you, Doctor Si." Chen Ran thanked him, but from his eyes to his tone, there was no trace of genuine gratitude.

When he thought of his daughter, whom he had not yet recognized and had not yet graduated from college, and who was pregnant because of this boy in front of him... he became furious.

Suppressing his surging anger, Chen Ran tried to speak calmly, "Doctor Si, I had a colonoscopy and it showed I did have intestinal polyps. I've already had some of them surgically removed."

"Okay, let me take your pulse." Si Yan responded, gently placing his right hand on Chen Ran's wrist and concentrating on taking his pulse.

After a moment, he withdrew his hand, his fingertips still feeling the slight coolness from taking the pulse. He looked up at Chen Ran and said in a steady tone, "The pulse is a little slower than last time. The recovery after the operation is going well."

Chen Ran's Adam's apple moved, but he didn't respond. However, his eyes were like hooks, sweeping across Si Yan's face.

There was fire and breath hidden in his eyes, as well as some inexplicable complexity - after all, it was this person who diagnosed his illness, but it was also this person who "kidnapped" his daughter.

"How are you taking the stomach medicine I prescribed last time? Has your stomach discomfort been relieved?" Si Yan seemed not to notice the patient's strange attitude and asked directly about his condition.

"My stomach problems are much better now." Chen Ran replied in a muffled voice, but he had to admit in his heart that the prescription Si Yan prescribed was indeed effective.

"Then just continue taking the medicine from last time. Today's prescription is for intestinal problems, I'll prescribe one first." Si Yan opened the medical record book, and the tip of his pen moved across the paper.

After writing, he looked up and reminded: "Don't forget to avoid certain foods. Pay attention to your diet. Absolutely no tobacco or alcohol. Also, don't get angry all the time. Liver qi stagnation is not good for your stomach and intestines, and it can easily lead to recurrence."

These words were like a fine needle, piercing Chen Ran's sore spot. He was filled with anger: If it were you, your own daughter... being "kidnapped to bear a child" at such a young age, how could you not be furious? I'm afraid you would have flipped the table long ago!

Si Yan didn't say anything more. He lowered his head to write the prescription, tore it off and handed it over: "Prescribe the medicine according to this, and come back for a follow-up visit in a week."

Chen Ran took the prescription, clenched his fingertips, stood up and walked to the door, then suddenly stopped. His shoulders trembled slightly, as if he had a lot to say, but in the end he just sighed heavily, opened the door and walked out.

The door to the clinic was gently closed, and silence returned to the room. Si Yan leaned back in his chair, his fingertips unconsciously stroking the edge of the table, thinking about the back of Chen Ran who had just walked out. Who was this Chen Ran, and why did he have such a deep grudge against him?

After work, Si Yan went to the pharmacy to pick up the medicine, took a detour to Su Nian's mother's tailor shop, and then drove back to his home in Jinghuayuan.

When I got home, Su Nian was busy in the kitchen. When she heard the door open, she poked her head out and asked, "Are you back?"

"Put it down quickly, you need to rest more, I'll take care of these things." Si Yan said quickly as he looked at the busy person.

"I just washed the vegetables, you still have to cook it." Su Nian said with a pout.

Si Yan washed his hands, changed into home clothes, picked up an apron, walked in front of Su Nian and turned around.

Su Nian understood and tied a beautiful bow behind his back. Her fingertips stroked his waist, causing the man to chuckle, "Stop it, it's itchy!"

This girl is getting bolder and bolder.

Su Nian——We’ve already got the marriage certificate, so this is legal touching.

Si Yan naturally took over the work in her hands and got busy.

During the meal, Si Yan mentioned Su Hong's visit to Jishiditang. "I've checked with Mom. She's had a bit of liver fire lately. It's a minor problem. It just needs some treatment. You can rest assured."

"Well, thank you Professor Si!" Su Nian felt relieved, put down the bowl, stood up deliberately, and playfully saluted in a not-so-standard way.

Si Yan said lovingly, "Don't move too much, you're an expectant mother, be careful!"

Su Nian thought of the baby in her belly and stroked it gently. She didn't know why, but she always forgot this.

"By the way, all the pre-ordered tables, chairs, computers, sewing machines and other equipment will be delivered tomorrow, right?" Si Yan thought about the equipment in Su Nian's studio.

"Yeah. I have to take advantage of the weekend to finish it. School starts next week."

The young couple now discuss things together and their life is as sweet as freshly cooked sweet porridge.

After dinner, the warm yellow light stained the kitchen with an especially cozy atmosphere. Su Nian lazily leaned against the kitchen doorframe, her lustful eyes fixed on Si Yan as he cleaned up the dishes. Pink bubbles practically filled the air.

How could this man be so good-looking? Even the slightly furrowed brows as he washed the dishes, the smooth movement of his fingers across the rim, exuded an indescribable sexiness.

It was clearly the most ordinary household chore, but when he did it, it had a fatal attraction.

Su Nian was mesmerized by the sight, the frankness and obsession in his eyes almost overflowing.

Si Yan had long been aware of the "unbridled" gaze behind him, and the warm eyes swept over him like a little feather.

He endured it again and again, until he could no longer bear it. He coughed softly, but his hands did not stop moving. He turned his head to look at the door, a smile in his eyes, but his tone was a little helpless and indulgent: "Mrs. Si, can you restrain your gaze a little...? If you keep looking at me like that, I'll make a mistake now - if you want to see it later, we have plenty of time."

He spoke the last few words softly and quietly, with an indescribable ambiguity.

Su Nian was caught on the spot, her cheeks suddenly turned red, and she turned around and slipped to the sofa in the living room, pretending to fiddle with the pillow.

The sound of dishes colliding with each other came from the kitchen, mixed with a man's low laughter. Su Nian couldn't help but curl up her fingers that were hugging the pillow. Her heart felt as sweet as if there was a piece of candy in it.

The smile in Si Yan's eyes grew even brighter. He came out after washing the dishes and reached out to scratch the tip of her nose: "Go pick a movie and let's watch it together."

"Okay!" Su Nian was bored after being alone at home all day.

After choosing a comedy, the two of them snuggled together on the sofa, whispering to each other from time to time. The moonlight from outside the window crept in and fell on the floor, like a layer of scattered silver.

The next morning, Su Nian was still in bed when she was woken up by the noise downstairs. She rubbed her eyes and got up and went downstairs. She saw the door was open and Si Yan was directing people to bring things into the house.

"What's wrong?" Her voice was hoarse from just waking up.

"The delivery guy is here," Si Yan turned around and smiled, "You can sleep a little longer, I'll be right here."

Su Nian couldn't sleep any more, so he quickly got up and washed up.

When she went downstairs again, there were already a lot of boxes piled up in the living room. The large and small packing boxes almost took up half of the living room.

Si Yanzheng was checking the list with the delivery driver. The sunlight shone on him, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on his forehead. Two buttons of his shirt collar were open, but he did not look embarrassed at all. Instead, he looked a bit charming and masculine.

Su Nian was only fascinated for a moment and then ran over.

"Let me help!" She wanted to reach out and move a small box, but Si Yan held her back.

"You just stand by and watch. I'll do the heavy stuff." He bent down and opened a large box, which contained a half-assembled sewing machine.

For most of the next day, Si Yan hardly rested.

He unpacked the items one by one and assembled them bit by bit according to the instructions. He installed the tables, chairs, computers, and workbenches one by one, and then adjusted the position of the sewing machine.

Su Nian wanted to lend a hand, but he always rejected her with words like "You can't do it well", "It's too heavy", and "Don't get hurt". In the end, she could only sit beside him and pass him tools and water.

They were busy until the afternoon, and the studio converted from the guest bedroom was finally completed. There was a large solid wooden desk with a brand new computer on it, a workbench for cutting and making, and a sewing machine and an overlock machine placed by the window. The sunlight shone in through the glass, and Su Nian suddenly felt a little hot in his eyes.

"Okay." Si Yan stood up, stretched his shoulders, and turned to look at her. "Do you like it?"

"I like it, I like it very much." She raised her head and looked at this studio that belonged to her, her eyes sparkling. "I will work here in the future. When you are tired of seeing patients, you can come and watch me design clothes, okay?"

"Okay, my designer wife!" Si Yan walked over and held her hand, his palm warm and strong.
