Chapter 144: Soul Eater (1/2)

It was different from the ferocious blue Netero fragments that Alu and the others had in mind.

The Netero in front of him was snow-white all over, wearing a faded linen hat and a tattered cloak. At first glance, he looked like a down-and-out scholar.

What attracted everyone's attention most was the wicker basket in its hand. The strange "carnivorous plant" was lying quietly in the basket, looking gentle and well-behaved.

"Everyone be on guard!" A Lu shouted and quickly assumed a fighting stance.

Coco's body was instantly covered with a poisonous film, Sunny's hair stood up like steel needles, and Zebra cracked his knuckles.

In their understanding, except for President Yilong's partner, the flavor-sage Kiki, creatures like Netero are all monsters who eat people without leaving any bones.

"You're the one who led us here, right?" Zebula's eyes flashed with ferocity, and the sound waves gathered in his throat. "Tell me your purpose before I kill you!"

White Netero calmly hung the flower basket on his arm and made a soothing gesture with both hands: "Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kaka. I have heard about you from Qiqi."

"What? Qiqi!" The four of them exclaimed in unison, "You and Qiqi are acquaintances?!"

"That's right." Pure White Netero Kaka nodded, "We are the only three of our fellow Misennin even among Netero. We have spent endless years studying cooking."

"Weishenren?" A'lu frowned. He had heard this name mentioned by that old pervert Qiqi when he was bragging.

Kaka's eyes flashed with nostalgia, "Qiqi, I, and another man named Jiji were once honored as the Golden Chef, the Silver Chef, and the Bronze Chef by the people."

"Ha!" Sunny couldn't help laughing. "That pervert Qiqi has such a great name? Could it be that he earned it by peeping?"

Ah Lu stroked his chin and recalled: "But Qiqi did say that she was a flavor immortal...but her image was too cheap."

"Humph!" Zebra curled his lips in disdain. "I think it's just a 'copper kitchen' at best, and a rusty one at that!"

After all, the impression that the pervert Kiki has always left on them is that of a bald, greasy uncle, and to ask for his help they need to provide him with clothes that smell like young women in exchange.

Kaka listened to everyone's teasing, but instead of getting angry, he let out a low laugh of pleasure.

"Let's stop talking nonsense. Please allow me to show you the ruins of the ancient kingdom built by Netero's slaves."

Having said that, it turned and headed deeper into the ruins.

Sani looked at Alu with a questioning look in his eyes: "Hey, Alu? Are you really okay? Are you following this guy?"

Although Kaka mentioned Kiki, everyone temporarily eliminated their direct hostility towards it.

But Netero's identity and the actions that brought them here still made Sunny feel suspicious.

A Lu closed his eyes and sensed for a moment, "I can't sense any hostility for now, and besides..."

He opened his eyes and looked into the depths of the ruins with a burning gaze. "Now that you are here, aren't you interested in this so-called 'kingdom'?"

Coco and Zebula looked at each other. Although Zebula still looked unhappy, he also snorted, which was regarded as his tacit agreement with Alu's decision.

The four of them exchanged glances, kept a safe distance, followed Kaka, and started the tour.

The scene around was shocking.

Although there are broken walls and ruins everywhere, the intricately carved stone pillars and wall fragments inlaid with gems all tell of the former glory of this place.

"No one lives here... I guess the civilization on this continent must have completely disappeared a long time ago, right?" Coco asked Kaka who was standing in front of her while observing her surroundings.
