Chapter 21 The Gift

She glanced at the people present and saw that they were all talking about cooperation, and there was nothing unusual about it.

Song Mai couldn't understand who had used such dirty tricks against her.

Just as she felt her body getting hotter and hotter, as if she were about to burn up, she inadvertently glanced at the half-finished glass of red wine on the table.

Her heart skipped a beat, and an idea popped into her mind.

Could it be that something was added to the red wine?

But who could it be?

The dinner was coming to an end, and Song Mai gritted her teeth and persevered until both sides stood up.

The heat in her body made her cheeks flush. Song Mai clenched her hands tightly, her fingertips digging into the flesh of her palms, her fingertips wet and covered in bright red blood, but she seemed not to feel it.

The project manager of YouNeng shook hands with the bearded man and said, "Then I wish us a pleasant cooperation!"

By this time, the effects of the medicine had fully taken hold, and Song Mai felt a blur before her eyes, her consciousness becoming hazy.

She leaned on the dining table, forced a smile, and translated what the person in charge of YouNeng said.

As he finished speaking, the person in charge of the YouNeng project patted Song Mai on the shoulder:

"Thank you for your hard work. The smooth cooperation today wouldn't have been possible without your teamwork. I'll contact Fang Yu about the follow-up matters. We'll head back now."

Song Mai nodded.

The people from YouNeng left quickly, and Song Mai then said goodbye to the bearded man and the others from Xiguo New Energy Company.

She struggled to take the bag, her legs felt weak, and she swayed slightly as she walked forward.

The bearded man behind her saw the woman's back and a glint of shrewdness flashed in his eyes.

By the time Song Mai reached the garden in front of the hotel, she was already exhausted and leaned against a pillar, panting heavily.

The flames inside her body burned brighter and brighter, and she even saw many shadows before her eyes.

"It's hot, so hot..."

The woman's red lips parted slightly as she murmured softly, but her voice carried a hint of self-restrained allure, inevitably stirring up fantasies in others.

Song Mai lifted her leg to walk forward, but her knees went weak as soon as she moved.

Just when she thought she was going to fall flat on her face, a hand suddenly supported her waist and caught her steadily.

Then a perfume scent wafted over, somewhat familiar yet pungent.

She turned around instinctively, only to be met with a pair of deep blue eyes.

It was someone from Xiguo New Energy Company, the one with the big beard!

Song Mai was startled and quickly took a few steps back.

I had a bad feeling, but I could only force myself to say thank you.

The bearded man smiled knowingly. "Are you feeling unwell? Would you like me to come and rest at my place?"

This statement is almost an explicit statement.

An alarm bell rang in Song Mai's mind, and she quickly steadied herself.

"No need, I have something to do, I'll be going now."

She turned around hastily, but the bearded man grabbed her wrist and pulled her backward violently.

At this moment, Song Mai's whole body was limp, and she had no strength left.

The bearded man effortlessly pulled Song Mai into his arms and wrapped his arms around her waist.

The strong perfume scent mixed with the distinctive body odor of foreigners created a peculiar smell that was both unpleasant and nauseating, causing Song Mai to gag.

"Let me go!"

She spoke through gritted teeth as she struggled.

Unfortunately, there is a huge difference in physical strength between men and women, not to mention that she had been drugged and the effects of the drug were very strong.

No matter how much she struggled, she couldn't break free.

The bearded man gripped her slender waist, took a deep sniff of her body, and a look of satisfaction appeared in his eyes.

Like a hunter who has finally caught his prey.

"You are my gift, how could I let you go?"

Song Mai glared at him fiercely, but she had been drugged. In the bearded man's eyes, her fierce gaze only seemed to be a mixture of seductive charm and anger, which was quite alluring.

The bearded man raised his hand and gently stroked Song Mai's cheek, his eyes narrowing slightly, his smile lewd and greasy.

"I like you just the way you are. You have personality, and I admire that."

Song Mai leaned back forcefully, trying to create as much distance as possible from him.

"You're insane! This isn't a country where you can act with impunity!"

The bearded man had lost his patience and scooped Song Mai up in his arms.

"Little beauty, I'll show you what I'm capable of today. I can do whatever I want no matter where I am!"

Song Mai desperately pounded on him with her hands, struggling and shouting for help.

The bearded man laughed loudly, "You really think someone will come to save you?"

Song Mai's throat was hoarse from shouting, but it was as if everyone in the huge hotel had completely disappeared.

No one answered, not even a single person appeared.

Just when Song Mai felt utterly hopeless, a deep male voice suddenly appeared, like heavenly music.

"Put her down!"

In just one second, she recognized the owner of the voice.

She cried out for help:

"Chu Xing, save me!"

The bearded man looked at the man who had suddenly appeared, raised his eyebrows with some excitement, and then teased Song Mai, "Looks like you're in high demand."

Chu Xing strode up to the bearded man and punched him in the face before he could react.

The bearded man, in pain, had no choice but to put Song Mai down.

His eyes were filled with ferocity as he looked at Chu Xing.

"Who gave you the audacity to lay a hand on me?"

Chu Xing didn't speak Spanish and didn't know what he was saying, but what he was saying didn't matter.

He just wanted to take Song Mai away as soon as possible.

Without saying a word, he kicked the bearded man in the knee, followed by two punches to his chest and stomach.

They barely gave the bearded man a chance to make a move, and quickly took care of him.

The bearded man knelt on the ground, clutching his stomach and groaning in pain.

Chu Xing's face was as cold as ice. He picked up Song Mai and quickly walked towards the roadside.

Are you alright?

Song Mai shook her head: "Luckily you arrived in time."

Otherwise, if it were just a little later...

Song Mai closed her eyes; she couldn't imagine what would have happened if things had been just a little later.

Chu Xing had a faint scent of cedar, somewhat cool and refreshing, yet very comforting.

At first, Song Mai was just being held by him, but after a while, she clung to him like a sloth, greedily inhaling his scent.

The woman's face flushed even more. For some reason, she felt a coolness emanating from the man, and being close to him made her feel a little less hot.

She pressed her small face against the man's chest, rubbing it against him again and again.

Chu Xing then realized that something was wrong with her.

"What’s wrong with you?"

"Hmm~"

The woman hummed comfortably and continued to wriggle against Chu Xing, absorbing the hard-won cool air.

"Songmai?"

Seeing that the woman did not answer, Chu Xing's brows furrowed involuntarily.
