A project leak is an extremely serious issue for any company, especially since Yunxing Group attaches great importance to this project.
Everyone present realized the seriousness of the situation and subconsciously turned to look at Song Mai.
Song Mai had a clear conscience, and turned to look at her coldly: "There's nothing wrong with what you did, but you missed one thing. One thing."
After speaking, Song Mai stood up and looked at Liu Jiaer, who was shorter than her.
"You're not an employee of the company, yet you're able to make this decision on behalf of the company. It's hard not to suspect that this was planned in advance. Besides, we're all employees of the company, except for you."
She paused slowly after saying this.
Liu Jia'er frowned subconsciously, not expecting that she could actually shift the blame onto herself.
"I don't need to spell out my relationship with A-Xing, do I? I'm the person in charge sent by the investor of this project, so why would I do anything detrimental to this project?" Liu Jia'er crossed her arms, trying to make herself look more imposing.
“I didn’t say that you did anything detrimental to this project. If you have a clear conscience, there’s no need to take it personally.” Song Mai looked at her with a gentle smile.
But that smile sent chills down Liu Jia'er's spine. She instinctively turned away, no longer looking at Song Mai.
"Since no one is willing to admit it, let's just wait and see what happens."
The entire conference room erupted in chaos, with everyone looking around anxiously, fearing that this would happen to them.
Liu Jia'er left the meeting room under the pretense of investigation, her steps hurried.
Lin Ran cautiously approached Song Mai: "Wan'er, what should we do now?"
The project being leaked means that all the previous efforts have been wasted.
All the efforts of everyone over the past month have gone to waste, naturally causing widespread anxiety.
"Don't panic. Although we didn't prepare a backup plan in advance, I already marked the current plan."
This is one of her habits: leaving her own unique mark in the corner of her artwork.
"What do you mean?" Lin Ran looked completely bewildered, having no idea about this.
Song Mai found the new product launched by the competitor company, and a smile appeared on her lips when she saw its contents.
“Look at the hem of the skirt in this design drawing.”
A group of people curiously gathered around.
The design drawings on the big screen were continuously enlarged until a clear signature appeared in front of everyone.
The signature was very well hidden; if Song Mai hadn't magnified it so much, probably no one would have noticed.
This signature is Song Mai's personal signature. It's used before a work is completed to prevent unauthorized use.
"This way, we can prove that the other company plagiarized our work!" Su He couldn't contain her excitement and nodded repeatedly in admiration.
"This is one of my personal habits, and I'm really sorry for not informing you beforehand." Song Mai naturally felt apologetic for doing this without permission.
Lin Ran comforted her, "It's alright. If you hadn't prepared in advance, we probably would be in a real predicament now."
The people around her nodded in unison. After working together for a while, they were completely impressed by Song Mai's professionalism and were willing to trust her unconditionally.
Liu Jiaer stormed back to her office, a smug smile on her face.
Behind her was a middle-aged man, well past fifty, whose cloudy eyes first scanned the crowd before finally settling on Song Mai.
The moment he saw her face clearly, a look of surprise and greed flashed in the man's eyes.
He said sternly, "I heard that the company's project has been leaked. None of you will escape."
"We can't make a decision before things are settled." Lin Ran instinctively shielded Song Mai behind her.
As friends of many years, even though Song Mai's identity has not been made public, she is willing to believe that the white-clad designer in front of her is her best friend.
Even if that weren't the case, based on her face and the thoughtful care she had shown her during this time, Lin Ran was willing to trust her unconditionally.
The man sneered, "You guys are the core key figures of this project; you control all the details. Now that an opposing company has released it first, are you going to blame outsiders instead of looking for the cause among yourselves?"
His words were very clear in their implication and his purpose was extremely obvious.
He first distanced himself from Liu Jia'er, and then turned his attention back to Song Mai.
“The project has encountered such a big problem, and everyone is involved.” Song Mai started by taking the lead in the conversation. “First, I would like to confirm whether any questions were raised or whether any contact was made with the other company to resolve the matter after the other company published the project results.”
Liu Jia'er snorted coldly, her tone full of sarcasm: "After something like this, how could the other party possibly admit it?"
“Okay, there’s a second question.” Song Mai slowly approached the man. “I’ve never seen you at the company before, and I don’t know what your role is in investigating this matter.”
The man laughed heartily, his tone tinged with disdain: "There are actually people who don't know me."
Lin Ran carefully explained to Song Mai, "He is a founding shareholder of our company. When Master Yun took over the company in the early days, General Manager Yang once invested to help Master Yun. Now that he is getting old, he naturally does not want to continue to participate in the company's disputes, so he rarely comes to the company on weekdays."
Song Mai nodded slowly: "I understand. Since President Yang hasn't been to the company for a long time, why would he rush over the moment he heard the news?"
Upon hearing this, everyone present looked at President Yang with a hint of skepticism.
The fact that they were able to arrive at the scene so quickly shows that they were well-prepared.
Seeing that the situation was turning bad, Liu Jia'er spoke up angrily, "Who do you think you are, daring to question President Yang here? Even if everyone in the company betrayed A-Xing, President Yang wouldn't."
"Such a big thing happened, why didn't anyone tell me?"
Chu Yunxing's voice came from behind, and everyone subconsciously turned around to look.
He walked in slowly with Shen Que and his assistant Lu, his gaze sweeping around before finally settling on President Yang.
"Uncle Yang, I didn't expect this matter to have such a big impact, even alarming you."
With a slightly unnatural expression, General Manager Yang turned to the side with his hands behind his back: "Although I haven't been involved in the company's decisions in recent years, I naturally have to give an explanation for such a big incident."
“Ah Xing, don’t be angry. I called Uncle Yang over to help. He’s been asking me about the project lately, and you’re so busy, so I thought Uncle Yang might be able to help, so I called him over to oversee things.”
As Liu Jia'er spoke, she glanced tentatively at Chu Yunxing.
