Chapter 338 The Kindhearted One Is Someone Else

That evening, Chu Yunxing deliberately passed by the office, looked at the brightly lit room, and called Assistant Lu.

Half an hour later, Assistant Lu walked into the office with coffee.

"Thank you all for your hard work."

Lin Ran asked in surprise, "Why is Assistant Lu suddenly being so kind?"

Assistant Lu shook his head mysteriously: "I am not the kind person."

Su He and Lin Ran immediately exchanged glances, both knowing that Chu Yunxing must have arranged for the coffee.

Since joining the project team, the two of them have been able to feel Chu Yunxing's concern for this white designer.

However, no matter how happy the dialogue designers were, they would always remember Song Mai, who was sleeping at the bottom of the river.

If Chu Yunxing gets close to Bai Wan'er, it's impossible to confirm whether he truly likes her or if it's just because of Song Mai. This would be unfair to both girls.

Assistant Lu, oblivious to their expressions, continued speaking to himself, "Master Yun has always been very concerned about your progress and instructed me to make sure I can help you as much as possible."

Song Mai responded with a smile, "Please thank Master Yun on our behalf."

"If you can complete this project, that will be the greatest gratitude you can show to Master Yun. The entire company is watching you closely to see just how difficult this project is." Assistant Lu could also sense that this was an impossible task.

The thought of this gave him a terrible headache.

"There are still two days left until the agreed time, so please don't worry." Song Mai twirled the paintbrush in her hand while studying the design drawings in front of her.

"Is there anything I can help you with?"

Assistant Lu has received orders from his boss that his biggest task now is to assist the project team.

"That's true. Keep a close eye on Liu Jiaer and that General Manager Yang."

Song Mai's confident and composed demeanor reminded Assistant Lu of his own boss.

"Don't worry, Master Yun has already made the arrangements." After saying that, Assistant Lu couldn't help but lean closer, "By the way, may I take a look at your sketches?"

I thought it was just a simple suggestion, but the project team rejected it firmly.

This plagiarism incident has left the entire project team in a state of panic.

No one, regardless of who or what, is allowed to approach the design drawings before the appointed time.

Assistant Lu was rebuffed and sighed helplessly, "You guys are being too cautious."

"You can't be too careful, and we've learned our lesson now." Lin Ran took a sip of coffee and continued working.

The brief interruption was enough to give the project team a short break. Watching them work so intently, Assistant Lu turned and left without saying a word.

He arrived at the rooftop, where Chu Yunxing stood with his hands behind his back, looking down at the bustling traffic below.

"Brother Yun, the coffee has been delivered. Designer Bai and the rest of the project team are still working overtime, and they are in very poor spirits, extremely exhausted."

“They’ve been working for a full day and night, so naturally they can’t keep going.” Chu Yunxing turned around. “Find a way to let them go home and rest tonight; their health is the most important thing.”

This order gave Assistant Lu a headache for a while.

He went to the office and complained to Shen Que about the matter: "What can I do to get these workaholics to go home?"

Shen Que suddenly had a flash of inspiration: "Master Yun only said that you should think of a way, but he didn't specify what kind of way it was."

"What do you mean? You're not planning to use force, are you?" Assistant Lu cautiously looked around and stared at her intently. "No matter who you don't like, this group of people is not to be touched right now."

Shen Que looked at his serious expression and didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

"What are you thinking? I mean, turn off the power."

Without electricity, these people would have no way to stay in the office.

Assistant Lu's eyes lit up, and he nodded approvingly: "I understand!"

Watching him stride away, Shen Que felt a pang of bitterness in his heart.

If he could be as quick to understand relationships as he is now, I wouldn't have had to wait so many years.

The office lost power without warning, and the project team members instinctively gasped in surprise.

Song Mai turned on her phone's flashlight, carefully inspected the circuitry, and sighed softly, "It's probably due to aging circuitry. Everyone's been busy for so long, so why don't we go back and get some rest?"

The project team members looked at each other, and cautiously probed, "Won't going back directly like this delay the work progress?"

"Health is the foundation of everything, and it's what you should prioritize right now. Go back and get some rest so you can come to work tomorrow feeling refreshed." Song Mai smiled as she watched everyone leave, unmoved.

Lin Ran was the last to leave the studio. Seeing that she didn't seem to be leaving, she asked curiously, "Aren't you going home with us?"

"I still have some things to take home and think about. You guys go ahead."

Lin Ran nodded with some doubt and turned to leave.

After confirming that all the project team members had left work, she spoke in a voice that was neither too loud nor too soft: "How long are you planning to hide?"

Assistant Lu cautiously stepped out, a hint of surprise on his face: "Designer Bai, how did you know I was here?"

"It's easy to guess that you just finished talking about coffee and then the power suddenly went out. How could such a large corporation have aging circuits or other short circuits? The only possibility is that the power was deliberately cut off."

Song Mai leaned back in her chair, looking like she was about to interrogate someone: "Speak, what are you going to say to me?"

"It's not that I have something to say, it's that Mr. Yun is worried that your bodies can't handle it, so he asked me to find a way to urge you to leave work." Assistant Lu sighed helplessly.

He was just a worker, and he couldn't go against his boss's wishes no matter what.

Moreover, he had long found the way Song Mai and the others worked so hard terrifying, but he had never had the chance to persuade them.

“It just so happens that I was thinking of letting everyone go back and rest. Today’s situation has backfired.” Song Mai pointed to the power switch next to him without saying a word. “Now it’s just the two of us, so hurry up and turn the power back on.”

"Designer Bai, aren't you going home now?" Assistant Lu glanced at the time; it was already 10 p.m.

"Everyone should go back and rest, but someone should be left to continue working on the project. Besides, I still have a lot of work-related matters to attend to, so I won't be going back anytime soon."

When the office lights came on, Song Mai naturally breathed a sigh of relief.

As she organized her sketches, she looked at Assistant Lu curiously: "Aren't you going back now?"

"You and Master Yun are really alike; you're both absolute workaholics," Assistant Lu couldn't help but remark.

"Wan'er, how's work?"
