A gust of wind blew by, and maple leaves scattered everywhere.
Song Mai turned her head and saw a pavilion not far away, with pink roses planted inside.
Suddenly, the image of the sea of roses she had once seen by the lake flashed into her mind, and she turned around to look at it with some surprise.
"Rose trees have a hard time surviving this season," Chu Yunxing said softly, letting out a helpless sigh.
Song Mai frowned, and said thoughtfully, "Yes, it's rare to see roses at this time of year."
"How do you like it?"
Chu Yunxing naturally took her wrist and slowly walked over.
Song Mai didn't know why he would ask her this question, and nodded subconsciously.
“This is your favorite flower.” Chu Yunxing lowered his eyes and reached out to stroke the petals. “Top florists abroad will clean it regularly, and if any flowers wither, they will immediately plant new ones.”
"So complicated?" Song Mai was somewhat surprised.
Chu Yunxing smiled without saying a word. Only when he looked at the vibrant flowers did he feel that Song Mai was still by his side.
He had always prayed that one day, Song Mai would appear before him, just like now, shoulder to shoulder, to admire this magnificent sea of flowers together.
"Have you been to the lake?"
Song Mai nodded: "How did you know?"
“My aunt told me that she has been taking care of the flower sea by the lake for more than five years.” Chu Yunxing turned around and gently swept away the fallen leaves from the tombstone once again. “This place can finally be demolished. I have been waiting for this day for six years.”
"These past five years have been a long time for you, haven't they?" Song Mai couldn't recall any past memories, but she could feel the sadness in his heart.
This gloomy mood was etched into my bones and could not be erased.
What happened between us before?
Song Mai turned to look at Chu Yunxing, facing the light.
Her eyes shone like the vast universe.
“We have a good relationship, but I did some wrong things, which caused a conflict between us.” Chu Yunxing lowered his head guiltily. “Perhaps the timing was wrong. If I had been given three more days, I would have told you the reason for the conflict.”
It was these short three days that made Chu Yunxing regret it for the rest of his life.
"It's okay, maybe it's all destined by God."
Chu Yunxing didn't answer, but looked up and said, "Do you want to go see the sea of flowers? It was a surprise I prepared for you six years ago, but unfortunately you've never been able to see it."
"good."
The two remained silent throughout the journey.
The car was playing their favorite songs. Song Mai turned her head to look at the fleeting scenery, her heart filled with mixed feelings.
Returning to the familiar place, I have completely lost all my memories.
Perhaps only I can truly understand such an experience.
The car slowly drove into the lakeside, and the security guard opened the gate when he saw Chu Yunxing's car.
“This place has never been open to outsiders because I wanted you to be the first to see it,” Chu Yunxing said in a low voice. “This sea of flowers has finally found its owner.”
"You've been waiting for this day for a long time, haven't you?"
Song Mai's eyes were filled with tears. That memory she couldn't recall still felt like a stone in her heart.
"Master Yun, Madam, you've finally arrived."
An elderly woman appeared before the two of them, smiling as she spoke. Her gaze lingered on Song Mai, and she nodded with a smile.
“When you came here before, I knew you must be the legendary lady.” The old man wiped his hands on his clothes and said softly, “Do you remember me?”
Song Mai shook her head in confusion.
"Six years ago, I collapsed on the roadside and couldn't get up. You were the one who pulled me up." The old man's face also showed a hint of melancholy. "Later, I took the initiative to come here to protect this sea of flowers, hoping that you would come back again."
The good deed I did back then has made me remembered for so many years.
"I'm sorry, I don't remember anything from before." Song Mai sighed guiltily, remaining silent.
“When you fully remember, I will bring you here again. I will make up for the ceremony I didn’t give you six years ago, whether you want it or not.” Chu Yunxing smiled at her.
Even after returning to the studio, Song Mai was still in a daze.
Xie Wenwen looked at her curiously and said in a low voice, "What's wrong with you? I've never seen you like this before."
"Do you think it's really necessary to get back lost memories?" Song Mai put down her pen, looking bewildered.
“It’s necessary.” Xie Wenwen placed her hands on her shoulders. “Whether it’s good or bad, it’s your life. Life can’t have any gaps, isn’t that what you told me?”
Song Mai sighed and nodded thoughtfully.
"I understand." She put down what she was holding, got up, and left.
Xie Wenwen followed behind her and asked anxiously, "What's the matter that's so urgent?"
"It's urgent."
Song Mai went to the psychologist and told him what had just happened.
After a moment of contemplation, the psychologist advised, "You shouldn't be working on a treatment plan right now. Instead, you should let yourself calm down for a few days. If you keep pushing for progress, it will be less effective."
"So what should I do now?" Song Mai frowned and asked in a low voice.
"Try to go to the places where you left traces before, and look for fragments of your past memories," the doctor said with a smile.
Song Mai nodded and turned to leave, but she ran into Ji Fenghe.
Ji Fenghe was also surprised to see her here, and subconsciously looked at the psychologist inside: "What are you doing here?"
"It's nothing, I just came to ask for a consultation. What about you?"
Ji Fenghe hesitated and shook his head slightly: "I'm asking on behalf of a friend."
"Friends?" Song Mai had never heard of him having friends he didn't know.
"Partners".
Seeing that Ji Feng didn't want to say more, Song Mai didn't ask any further questions.
After exchanging a few words, Song Mai pretended to leave, but actually secretly made a phone call to Shen Xiujing.
"You want me to investigate other people's medical records? That's not very appropriate, is it?" Shen Xiujing said lazily.
"Isn't this doctor your good friend? Although I know this is against the rules, this matter is very important to me." Song Mai had to find out what was going on.
She could sense that Ji Fenghe had always been able to keep things from her, and no matter what happened, he would subconsciously make her step back first.
I thought it was for my own protection, but now it seems that's not the case.
As the investigation progressed, Song Mai became increasingly suspicious that there must be something more important than memories involved.
Song Mai didn't know how to start the conversation and sighed helplessly.
Hearing her sigh, Shen Xiujing couldn't help but say, "Alright, alright, since that's the case, I'll help you one more time."
Half an hour after Ji Feng left the hospital, Song Mai received the news.
Ji Fenghe does not have a mental illness; he is simply seeking counseling.
"His problem is whether or not he should hide things he doesn't want to talk about."
