"No need, Sister Wenwen has already told us to prepare." Lin Ran walked over with a smile, holding a stack of recruitment flyers in her hands. "Sister Wan'er, did you bring us any gifts?"
Song Mai had anticipated her response and pointed to the gift boxes beside her: "These are for you."
Lin Ran immediately put down the flyer in her hand, strode over to the gift box, and nodded with satisfaction: "It seems that Sister Wan'er still remembers us."
"How could I forget you? Go and see the gifts."
Watching Lin Ran and Su He happily flip through the gifts, guessing which one was theirs.
Xie Wenwen turned to look at Song Mai, her face showing some worry: "I heard about what happened to you abroad. What exactly happened? Could it be that you really are Song Mai?"
Song Mai nodded, then shook her head.
She turned and poured herself a glass of water, smiling thoughtfully: "To be honest, I'm not even sure who I am right now. Maybe from the very beginning, my focus was off."
Xie Wenwen was even more confused: "I don't understand what you're saying?"
"It's okay. I'll definitely tell you when my identity is confirmed." Song Mai smiled, winked, and turned to leave.
Xie Wenwen grabbed her wrist anxiously and subconsciously raised her voice: "When will that day come? As your friend, don't I have the right to know?"
Unexpectedly, she suddenly became agitated, and Song Mai realized that things were not so simple.
She turned to look at the two who were still examining the gifts, and led Xie Wenwen to a private lounge.
"What exactly happened? Have you heard something?"
Xie Wenwen sighed helplessly: "Actually, I shouldn't be telling you these things, but I just can't help it. From the moment you left the country, people have been sending me messages reporting your whereabouts and situation. But when I learned that a woman who looks exactly like you had appeared, I realized that you might be in danger."
"Someone must have deliberately sent you this message in an attempt to throw our own people into disarray," Song Mai sighed, momentarily at a loss for words.
Xie Wenwen nodded in agreement, but had no other solutions.
Now they are at the mercy of others, like fish on a chopping board. No matter what happens, they can only deal with it as it comes.
Song Mai looked at Xie Wenwen and gently took her hand: "It's not that I don't want to tell you, it's just that if too many people get involved in some things, the situation will only get worse."
“How could I not worry about you? I’ve been by your side for almost the entire past five years. Fenghe and I are practically family to you. He called me anxiously after hearing about your accident.”
Upon hearing this, Song Mai had no choice but to interrupt her.
"You just said that he called you urgently to tell me what happened?"
Xie Wenwen didn't know why she was repeating it, and nodded gently: "Yes, what's wrong?"
Song Mai took a deep breath, unsure of what to say for a moment.
She smiled and said, "It's nothing."
Her forced smile betrayed a hint of anger, which momentarily threw Xie Wenwen into a panic.
She asked anxiously, "Could it be that he's deliberately spreading panic among me?"
"All the current situations are just our temporary speculations, and we cannot act rashly."
A sudden exclamation came from outside; it was Lin Ran's voice.
The two exchanged a worried glance and walked outside.
Pushing open the door, the four people looked at each other in bewilderment.
Lin Ran held the gift in her hand, her face full of surprise.
The exclamation I made just now was because I was happy to see the gift, which is why I unconsciously exclaimed.
Seeing the serious expressions on Song Mai and Xie Wenwen's faces, Su He cautiously asked, "Did we disturb you?"
Song Mai then sighed.
Now, I and those around me are all on edge, and this fear is affecting our lives.
Xie Wenwen also realized that she couldn't let things continue like this. She quietly made a decision in her heart to personally test Ji Fenghe.
Just as she was about to leave, Song Mai suddenly stopped her.
"Wenwen, where are you going?"
Looking at Song Mai's serious expression, Xie Wenwen knew that her actions could not escape her notice.
"I want to understand this clearly."
"No, a superficial investigation won't yield any conclusions; it will only put us in a passive position. We must make them come to us first. Only then will we have a chance to turn the tide," Song Mai whispered.
Even so, Xie Wenwen still couldn't rest easy.
Song Mai took her arm and comforted her with a smile, "If you really can't stay idle, then hurry up and help me with the job applications. Ever since the job postings were sent out, my phone has been ringing off the hook."
Xie Wenwen's expression changed from worry to surprise, and her attention was successfully diverted.
"Could it be that they left your phone number? I was wondering why I hadn't heard from them for the past few days."
The two people who were still examining the gifts smiled awkwardly. Su He cautiously said, "We thought we were going to have to ask Sister Wan'er to make a phone call."
"Your sister Wan'er is so busy, how can she be so busy answering the phone all day long!" Xie Wenwen rushed over angrily.
Upon seeing this, the two immediately fled, and a chase ensued, making the shop bustling with activity.
Just then, someone gently pushed open the door.
A tall, thin boy appeared before the crowd, scratching his head shyly, his youthful face full of smiles.
"Are you here to order clothes?" Lin Ran asked curiously.
"I'm here for a job interview."
This boy doesn't look like a designer; he looks more like a college student who loves sports.
Su He asked curiously, "Did you graduate with a degree in design?"
"Yes, I just graduated. These are the awards I received at school, as well as some certificates of honor. My work is attached at the end; please take a look."
Song Mai and Xie Wenwen flipped through the materials she had prepared in advance. Looking at the outstanding awards one after another, the two nodded in unison.
“We already know your situation, but now we need to conduct a simple interview with you.” Song Mai decided to interview the boy herself.
The contrast between his appearance, his works, and his awards is unexpected.
Song Mai was worried that he might have stolen someone else's work, so she had to find out beforehand.
The boy nodded happily: "Of course, I have time anytime."
He didn't seem particularly clever, but his honest and simple appearance immediately won Su He's favor.
Song Mai gently reassured her, "It's okay, we can do it now."
