Chapter 384 Falling in Love Again

The word "love" is insignificant to adults, and in a sense, love is not permanent.

Song Mai sat beside him, her face beaming with smiles.

"I've had feelings for you for a while now, and at the time I thought it was just a physical reaction. But later I realized that my feelings for you weren't just because of the past. I've lost all my memories, so the past doesn't affect me much."

Song Mai gazed at him dreamily, a smile playing on her lips.

Chu Yunxing downed the wine in his glass in one gulp, gently pressed his hand on her waist, and forcefully thrust into her.

He swiftly conquered the city in Song Mai's mouth and pried open her pearly teeth.

Just as Chu Yunxing's hand slowly moved upwards, Song Mai's body stiffened.

Chu Yunxing understood that she was just venting her emotions.

So much has happened recently that she feels lost and confused.

The monsoon and his morbid pursuit left Song Mai bewildered, which led to her impulsive behavior after drinking.

But Chu Yunxing couldn't act impulsively.

He held Song Mai's shoulders, forcefully pulling her into his arms, and spoke thoughtfully.

"Calm down, Wheat."

Song Mai laughed self-deprecatingly: "You also think I'm just like those women, only after money?"

“I never had such thoughts. It’s just that you’re emotionally unstable right now, and the decisions you’ve made are all impulsive.” Chu Yunxing looked at her with a smile. “I don’t want you to regret it.”

Song Mai was taken aback for a moment, then smiled knowingly.

She leaned back comfortably in Chu Yunxing's arms and slowly closed her eyes.

Having not had a good night's sleep in a long time, I felt very safe in Chu Yunxing's arms.

When she woke up the next day, she was lying in bed.

His clothes hadn't been touched, and there was no one around him.

She rubbed her slightly throbbing temples and slowly went downstairs.

Before even reaching the stairwell, they could hear An'an and Chu Yunxing playing downstairs.

This scene brought Song Mai great comfort, and she quietly watched them from the railing.

The rare harmony and laughter made the home feel less empty.

"Mother!"

An'an turned to look at Song Mai and happily rushed over.

Chu Yunxing slowly stood up and said in a low voice, "Breakfast is ready."

Looking at the Chinese breakfast on the table, Song Mai subconsciously asked, "When did you wake up?"

This wasn't actually the question she wanted to ask aloud; it was just that she couldn't voice the answer she wanted, so she could only inquire indirectly in this way.

Chu Yunxing smiled and reassured him, "Don't worry, nothing's wrong."

These words brought a pang of sadness to Song Mai's heart. Looking at Chu Yunxing's smiling face, she didn't know how to speak for a moment.

"After I took you back to your room to sleep, I went to the guest room."

"Why?"

"There's no reason why. I just hope you can do everything happily." Chu Yunxing glanced at his watch, realized it was getting late, and got up to leave.

Before leaving, he made a point of giving instructions.

"Drink less coffee in the morning, it's bad for your stomach."

Song Mai used to skip breakfast because of work, and a cup of iced coffee on an empty stomach in the morning would make her stomach uncomfortable all day.

Chu Yunxing had said it countless times, but Song Mai remained unchanged.

As the door slowly opened, Song Mai suddenly realized that this was the home she had always wanted.

She rushed up to him and hugged his waist from behind.

She gently rested her face on his broad shoulder and whispered, "Didn't you say you'd let me think about it? This is my answer."

"Wheat?" Chu Yunxing asked in surprise.

“I know you’ve always thought it was just a passing fancy, but that’s not the case. Even without any memory of what happened before, I still developed feelings for you and like you. I suppose it’s because I genuinely like you as a person that I’ve liked you again and again.”

Chu Yunxing turned around and looked at her with deep affection: "Is what you said true?"

"Of course it's true. I understand how good you are to me, and I know you don't want me to make the wrong decision."

Chu Yunxing gently kissed her forehead: "Would you like to fall in love with me again?"

Song Mai nodded: "Of course."

An'an, who was standing to the side, suddenly burst out laughing. She covered her eyes with both hands, but still tried to peek at the two people through the gaps in her fingers.

"Uncle Chu, Mom, could you please keep the children away for a bit? Children shouldn't be watching adult matters, don't you know that?"

Seeing An'an's deliberately funny appearance, Chu Yunxing and Song Mai looked at each other and laughed together.

Immediately afterwards, the two simultaneously posted the news of their relationship on their social media accounts, sparking endless discussion and reflection among the public.

This news was undoubtedly a bombshell, leaving many people uneasy.

This includes Liu Jiaer and Ji Fenghe.

Liu Jia'er angrily approached Ji Fenghe and directly questioned him, "Didn't we agree on this yesterday? You would make An'an suffer a bit, and then play the hero in front of Song Mai. Do I really need to teach you something so simple? What's going on now?"

"I didn't do what you said. The child is innocent." Ji Feng stared blankly at the photo of the two of them on his phone, muttering to himself.

"Are you crazy? Don't you know this is our last chance? Now they're together again. If the car accident had come to light, have you considered the consequences?" Liu Jia'er was furious.

Frustrated, she slammed the cup in her hand onto the ground.

Glass shards shattered and flew everywhere.

Ji Fenghe looked up expressionlessly and said dejectedly, "It's all fate. Even if she loses all her memories, she will still fall in love with Chu Yunxing again."

"I've never believed in fate, so stop spouting nonsense!" Liu Jia'er said angrily. "I need to think of a solution right now. I don't want to just watch those two get married again!"

"Perhaps we shouldn't struggle anymore."

Ji Fenghe has become deeply aware of his problem, and the biggest problem is that he is not destined to be with Song Mai.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but smile bitterly.

"Ji Fenghe, if you're still a man, go and get Song Mai back right now!"

It's unclear which remark provoked Ji Fenghe, but he frowned in anger and shouted, "Get out! I want to be alone."

Liu Jia'er stared at him in disbelief: "Are you crazy?"

"I'll say it one last time, get out."

Ji Fenghe spoke these words almost word by word, leaving Liu Jiaer completely at a loss for how to respond.

She laughed mockingly, momentarily at a loss for words.

"Well done."

Liu Jiaer angrily left with her bag, not wanting to talk to him anymore.

The door slammed shut, and the world returned to silence.
