Chapter 426 Three Hundred Million

The competition between two people whose wealth rivals that of a nation is naturally not something an ordinary person can participate in.

Everyone present watched this scene in silence, utterly amazed.

Although they are extremely wealthy, they would never easily spend 100 million to buy a single pearl.

Moreover, it's still in the bidding stage.

"One hundred and ten million," Shen Xiujing said calmly, not taking the money seriously at all.

Chu Yunxing raised a sign: "One hundred and twenty million."

"Two hundred million."

Shen Xiujing's bidding fluctuated so much that even the host didn't react in time.

Only after being reminded by the person next to him did he nervously ask, "Are you sure?"

"certainly."

But Chu Yunxing wouldn't give him the chance so easily, and raised his paddle again: "Three hundred million."

Shen Xiujing raised an eyebrow, preparing to raise her placard again, but was stopped by Song Mai.

She subconsciously assumed that Chu Yunxing was going to give the pearl to Liu Jia'er. The thought of how he had spent a fortune on Liu Jia'er, even offering 300 million, made her extremely jealous.

Since he wants it so badly, there's no need for me to fight for it anymore.

Shen Xiujing was unwilling to give up and whispered in her ear, "It's just a little money, nothing to worry about."

“Since he wants to give it to Liu Jia’er, why should we be the bad guys?” Song Mai lowered her eyes.

Her long, thick eyelashes cast a fan-shaped shadow under her eyes, concealing the sadness in them.

Sensing her sadness, Shen Xiujing prepared to continue bidding.

“If you really care about me, then stop bidding. I don’t want my news to be on tomorrow’s headlines.” Song Mai said seriously.

When she speaks in that tone, it's usually because she's genuinely angry.

Shen Xiujing sighed, unsure of what to say for a moment.

"...Three hundred million, the second time."

"Three hundred million, for the third time!"

"Congratulations to Mr. Yun for winning the bid for this pearl for 300 million."

Liu Jia'er immediately showed a happy expression, and glanced down at Song Mai provocatively, the smile on her lips never fading.

She hugged Chu Yunxing affectionately and whispered, "Thank you, it's so good to have you."

Chu Yunxing did not respond directly, and everyone present subconsciously assumed that he was giving the pearl to Liu Jia'er, so they all whispered their congratulations.

Chu Yunxing simply said, "This pearl will be given to my wife."

Liu Jia'er covered her mouth in surprise, never expecting that she would become Chu Yunxing's future wife in just a few days.

She couldn't help but laugh, forgetting all about turning around to show off; her mind was filled with the joy of marrying into a wealthy family.

Song Mai sighed wearily and leaned back in her chair.

Whether it was just an act or not, this scene left her breathless.

She took the opportunity of making a phone call to go outside into the hall, where she felt the gentle breeze on her face, which brought her back to her senses.

A brief moment of clarity allowed her to exhale a long breath, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

As she turned to go back, she found Chu Yunxing standing behind her, quietly watching her.

She asked in a low voice, "Why did you come out?"

"Seeing you in a bad mood, I can't help but worry." Chu Yunxing stared at her dejected expression, his eyes filled with heartache.

What good is worrying? I still gave the pearl to Liu Jia'er.

Chu Yunxing was taken aback when he heard her thoughts, then chuckled softly.

When Song Mai saw her laughing at him, a look of dissatisfaction appeared on her face.

"What are you laughing at? Do you think I look pathetic right now?"

Chu Yunxing quickly waved his hand: "That's not what I meant, please don't misunderstand. I just think you're very cute right now, like a jealous little cat."

Such nonsensical words left Song Mai both amused and exasperated. She looked Chu Yunxing up and down and found that his eyes were exceptionally sincere.

Since things had come to this point, he couldn't very well directly accuse her, so he could only say calmly, "I'm fine, I just came out to handle some work."

“I know you’re upset, but I hope you can give me another two weeks. I will definitely handle everything well and won’t let you down.” Chu Yunxing put his hands on Song Mai’s shoulders.

Song Mai didn't know whether she should believe him or not, so she could only sigh helplessly: "Okay, let's go back quickly."

Song Mai deliberately waited a long time before returning to her seat.

Shen Xiujing asked worriedly, "Is it something important?"

"It's important but not urgent, no need to worry about it," Song Mai said with a smile, her face calm.

On the other side, Ji Feng said thoughtfully, "If you really like them, I can find more pearls for you."

"It's alright, everything in this world depends on fate." Song Mai shook her head calmly, not taking it to heart.

A single pearl doesn't mean anything.

If it weren't for Chu Yunxing's feelings involved, I probably wouldn't have reacted so strongly.

In the eyes of outsiders, she is now like a discarded pawn, and every move she makes is magnified and then speculated to be due to jealousy and despair.

Ji Feng's tone inevitably carried a hint of disappointment as he cautiously inquired, "Are you unhappy?"

"Why would I be unhappy? Just attending the auction festival is enough to broaden my horizons, and I'm already very satisfied."

Shen Xiujing couldn't bear to see her sister so distraught, and couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

After the auction ended, he left directly with Song Mai and Lin Ran.

Jiang Jibai remained pitifully where he was, looking at Chu Yunxing with resentful eyes.

"That's none of my business," Chu Yunxing shrugged.

"Your wife is unhappy, so why take my wife away? We haven't had any time together as a couple. We finally had a date today, and you just leave like that?"

Chu Yunxing patted him on the shoulder with pity: "Good luck, my good brother."

"Don't go too far. When are you going to clean up this mess? I don't want to be dragged down by you later." Jiang Jibai looked at him with feigned disgust.

Chu Yunxing immediately fell into deep thought, looking at him with sympathy: "Hold on a little longer, and I'll be able to complete my plan soon."

"Wait a minute, look who this is!" Jiang Jibai suddenly had a gossipy look on his face and pointed to the distance with a grin.

Chu Yunxing followed his gaze and saw that the person rushing over was Yao Qianyu.

Chu Yunxing had almost forgotten about her existence because he hadn't seen her for so long.

"You've come at the right time; I have something to tell you."

Jiang Jibai forgot about her breathless appearance and cautiously reminded her, "The person you're looking for isn't here. We don't know where Ji Fenghe is either, but he's definitely not with Song Mai Mai."

Chu Yunxing rolled his eyes at him and warned, "Is that something you should be saying?"
