Song Mai was both amused and exasperated: "How come I didn't know you had a white-bearded grandfather friend?"
An'an blinked and said mysteriously, "Mom saw him in the park before."
Song Mai kept trying to recall this person in her mind, but she had absolutely no recollection of him.
Just as she was feeling very strange, the doorbell was slowly rung.
Old Master Chu stood outside the door, smiling at them: "Aren't you going to let me in for a while?"
Old memories suddenly flooded into Song Mai's mind. Her eyes widened, and her face was full of surprise: "You are Grandpa Chu?"
"It seems you've regained your memory, so I don't need to call a psychologist to take a look at you." Old Master Chu looked around at the small apartment and said in a low voice, "Have you thought about moving to a different place? After all, the children are all grown up now."
Chu Yunxing immediately understood his grandfather's meaning, and took Song Mai's hand, saying, "I'll take you somewhere."
The car drove slowly along the road, with An'an and Grandpa Chu sitting in the car behind, so they were not disturbed.
Listening to music they both liked, Song Mai suddenly felt that the road looked very familiar.
Her eyes widened in surprise, and she exclaimed with delight, "Doesn't this road lead to the lake?"
Chu Yunxing nodded: "What I owed you six years ago, I'm going to give back to you one by one now."
After Chu Yunxing finished speaking, he smiled and looked at what was in front of him.
The flowers by the lake transformed into a sea of blossoms once more, and an archway tightly embraced by bouquets appeared before the two of them.
Xie Wenwen held the veil in her hand and gently pinned it to Song Mai's hair.
Lin Ran handed her the bouquet of roses, looking at her with a beaming smile.
"I wish you happiness."
Song Mai realized something and, together with Chu Yunxing, passed through the archway and stood by the lake.
Feeling the scent of the lake carried by the wind, she slowly raised her eyes to look at the azure sky, a surge of joy washing over her.
Chu Yunxing knelt on one knee, looking at her with a sincere expression: "Maizi, will you marry me?"
A ring set with a green pearl appeared before her, its exquisite craftsmanship and beauty making the already priceless green pearl appear even more noble.
Song Mai nodded with tears in her eyes, extending her slender hand to Chu Yunxing.
"I do."
Bundles of flower petals were continuously launched into the sky, and pink petals fell gently on Chu Yunxing and Song Mai's shoulders like rain.
Amid cheers from the crowd, the two embraced tightly.
A car drove up without warning, and Chu Mingqian and Qin Jizhi slowly approached them.
"Sorry we're late."
The two looked at Song Mai with guilty expressions, holding a wooden box in their hands.
"Your father has told us about all the grievances you've suffered and everything you've done over the years. Only now do I realize that I've been misunderstanding you all along, causing you so much suffering." Qin Jizhi slowly opened the wooden box, revealing a jade bracelet inside.
“This is our family heirloom, which we will pass down to every daughter-in-law or daughter. Now I am giving it to you, hoping that you and A-Xing will be happy forever. It is our blessing to have a daughter-in-law like you in the Chu family.”
Qin Jizhi gently placed the bracelet on Song Mai's wrist.
Then he turned his gaze to An'an and gently stroked An'an's head: "An'an, can you call me Grandma?"
An'an looked at Song Mai, hesitant.
After Song Mai nodded, she immediately said, "Grandma."
Qin Jizhi's eyes welled up with tears, and a single tear slowly fell.
Chu Mingqian slowly stepped forward and took out a document.
"This is a small token of our appreciation from your Aunt Qin and me. We hope you will accept it. We are transferring some of our shares to you as a blessing and as our apology."
Song Mai was flattered and momentarily unsure whether to accept the gift.
"Please accept it, otherwise my parents will feel guilty for the rest of their lives."
With those words, Song Mai no longer hesitated and gently accepted the gifts they brought, her face beaming with smiles.
During the proposal ceremony, she announced her pregnancy to the public.
A group of people were laughing and chatting, but while some were happy, others were sad.
Ji Feng, standing not far away, watched this scene silently, his expression one of deep anguish.
He was about to step forward and interrupt the couple's proposal ceremony when Shen Xiujing arrived with the police.
He gently placed his hand on Ji Fenghe's shoulder and whispered, "Don't go over there. She's very happy now."
"You've come to see me, so you must have been prepared," Ji Fenghe said, looking up at him calmly.
He had long anticipated this day, but it was a pity that he didn't get to say goodbye to Song Mai in the end.
“I am very grateful for your care for her over the years, but you shouldn’t have taken her for yourself. You were also involved in the car accident six years ago, so you will naturally be punished. I hope you can reflect on your actions and get out soon.”
Ji Feng chuckled self-deprecatingly: "They're together now, what's the point of all this? I know her, she would never fall for someone else."
Shen Xiujing knew he had misunderstood her, and smiled brightly: "I don't need her to fall in love with me, because she is my biological sister."
"So she's from the Shen family. It seems she'll have a happy and fulfilling life from now on. I can rest assured then," Ji Fenghe murmured to himself, a satisfied smile on his face.
As long as Song Mai is happy, I will have no regrets.
He stretched out his hands and looked at the police: "Take me away."
"Aren't you going to say a final goodbye to my sister?" Shen Xiujing looked at him strangely.
Ji Feng calmly shook his head: "No need, I don't want to disturb her happiness."
Watching the police take Ji Fenghe away, Shen Xiujing sighed helplessly.
In a sense, both he and Liu Jiaer were a great pity.
Both of them were exceptionally talented and could have easily chosen a different path to success. However, because of their resentment, they ruined their own lives.
Shen Xiujing watched Song Mai's bright smile from a short distance away and sent the scene to her parents in Nancheng.
Although Shen's parents were very reluctant to let her go, they were naturally happy to see their daughter find happiness.
After the proposal, Chu Yunxing called out to Shen Xiujing, who was about to leave.
"Since you're already here, why leave so soon?" Chu Yunxing pulled Song Mai's hand and brought her to him.
Song Mai, confused, looked at the two of them strangely: "What are you talking about?"
“Actually, I shouldn’t be the one to introduce you, but the Shen family doesn’t want to bother you, so they will never take the initiative to speak. They are worried that you won’t accept it, so they don’t know how to tell you.” Chu Yunxing looked at Song Mai gently.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand at all."
