Chapter 82 Sharing a Bed

A woman wearing a bright red strapless beach dress sat down in the spot where Song Mai had just been sitting, her eyes full of flirtatious intent as she looked at the man.

"Handsome, did you come alone?"

The man ignored her, not even glancing at her, his eyes fixed on Song Mai, who was dancing.

"No, it's with my wife."

The woman was beautiful, with a curvaceous figure, and dressed very sexily, which perfectly highlighted her physical advantages.

This made her exceptionally popular in the crowd, and many young men would approach her to strike up a conversation.

But she had no interest in those men; she immediately spotted Chu Xing sitting there alone.

He was wearing a white casual shirt with a white T-shirt underneath, looking clean and handsome.

She just didn't expect that such a handsome man like him would be married.

A hint of disappointment flashed across the woman's eyes, but she said with a touch of despair:

"Then why are you here all alone?"

"Wait for my wife."

The woman took out her phone, her eyes sparkling with allure: "Want to be friends?"

The man lost his patience: "Do you think this is appropriate?"

Upon hearing this, the woman immediately felt embarrassed.

She knew it was inappropriate to proactively add a married man's contact information, since he was already married, and even if she had feelings for him, she couldn't do anything about it.

But this man was different. He was unlike any other man, giving her the feeling that if she missed him, she would never meet him again.

So she mustered up the courage to ask for his contact information, but the man bluntly called her out on it.

"I don't mean anything by it, can't I even make friends?"

The man irritably downed the remaining half-glass of plum wine in one gulp.

"There's no need."

The woman followed his gaze to the dancing crowd and was shocked to see Song Mai grinning foolishly. A hint of disdain immediately appeared in her eyes.

Is this silly woman his wife?

She was fairly pretty, but her figure paled in comparison to hers. She was just an ordinary-looking person. How could she be with such a good man?

"Is that your wife?"

"Um."

"It doesn't look very appealing. Why don't you add me on the phone, and I'll hang out with you for the next few days?"

Chu Xing's brows were furrowed to the extreme. She had no interest whatsoever in this woman who had offered herself up; on the contrary, she felt utterly disgusted.

"Not interested."

He jumped up, strode towards the group of dancers, found Song Mai precisely, grabbed her hand, and left.

Song Mai, however, still felt unsatisfied and muttered to herself:

"Why are you in such a hurry? I haven't had enough fun yet. It's not easy for me to come all this way."

Chu Xing felt a sense of disappointment and frustration.

"You're having a great time, but someone's already eyeing your husband."

The man walked very fast, and Song Mai had to jog to keep up.

"What?"

She could only hear the man talking, but she couldn't make out what he was saying.

"nothing."

Song Mai didn't understand why he was in such a hurry, but since she was holding his hand, she could only follow him back to the hotel in a hurry.

She plopped down on the sofa as soon as the door was pushed open.

The scent of plum wine emanating from her filled the air.

The man's face was extremely ugly. He grabbed the bathrobe and towel from the cabinet and threw them at Song Mai.

"Go take a shower."

Song Mai didn't know why he was unhappy, but she could sense the displeasure emanating from the man.

But now, with the effects of the alcohol kicking in, she felt incredibly dizzy, and her gaze towards Chu Xing was blank. She had no time to ask if anyone had offended her.

She struggled to her feet from the sofa, grabbed a towel and bathrobe, and staggered into the bathroom.

Chu Xing was worried again when he saw how unsteady she was on her feet.

But men and women are different, so no matter how worried he was, there was nothing he could do but sit outside the door and wait, listening to the sounds coming from inside.

Sure enough, a moment later, Song Mai's exclamation came from the bathroom.

"Ouch—"

He immediately went to the bathroom door, his voice tinged with worry: "What's wrong?"

Song Mai sat on the ground, clutching her sore bottom in pain.

"It's nothing, I just slipped and fell."

The man slowly loosened his grip on the doorknob.

"Is it serious? Can you stand up?"

"It's okay, I can manage."

Chu Xing felt relieved and sat back down on the sofa.

After finally finishing her shower, Song Mai reluctantly put on a bathrobe, but then drowsiness overwhelmed her.

For a moment she felt so sleepy that she felt like she was about to faint, her upper and lower eyelids almost sticking together.

She staggered to the sofa and shooed Chu Xing away.

"I agreed to stay on the sofa tonight."

"You sleep in the bed."

"No, one night for each person is fair. Get up, I want to sleep."

Seeing that Chu Xing didn't move, Song Mai even stretched out her two little hands to push him.

But he's not someone she can just push away.

The man sat motionless on the sofa.

Song Mai was extremely tired and also a little irritable: "Get up quickly."

Chu Xing had no intention of actually letting her sleep on the sofa. Seeing that she was extremely sleepy yet incredibly stubborn, he simply picked her up and threw her onto the bed.

"You should sleep here. I'm a man, it's only right that I sleep on the sofa."

As he spoke, he lifted the blanket and wrapped Song Mai up tightly.

Song Mai was so sleepy that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Seeing that she was asleep, Chu Xing took the bathrobe and went into the bathroom.

Song Mai didn't know how long she had slept; she only found herself asleep in bed when she opened her eyes, with the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

She rubbed her eyes groggily, then hugged her blanket and lay down on the sofa.

When Chu Xing came out, he saw Song Mai sleeping soundly on the sofa, hugging a blanket in her arms, with one little hand tightly gripping the sofa.

He tried helplessly to carry the woman back to bed, but her hand was gripping the sofa tightly and wouldn't let go. After several attempts, Chu Xing finally gave up because he couldn't pry her hand off.

The next morning, Song Mai woke up with a splitting headache.

She struggled to get up from the sofa, and after going to the bathroom feeling groggy, she still felt very uncomfortable, so she decided to sleep a little longer.

Driven by habit, she walked to the bedside as usual, lifted the covers, and lay down.

Chu Xing hadn't slept well for two days and was exhausted. He had been dealing with work until 3 a.m. last night and had only just lain down when he was sound asleep, completely unaware that another person was lying in his bed.

When Song Mai woke up for the second time, the sun was already shining in through the window, casting several shadows of trees beside the bed.

She pressed her temples and subconsciously reached for her phone on the bedside table.

Suddenly I realized something.

How could she be in bed!

boom!

She froze as if struck by lightning.
