Chapter 25 Familiarity
Familiarity
Chi Dong hesitated and said, "But each invitation can only admit one person, so how are you going to get in then?"
Zhou Yize assured him solemnly, "I have my own way, you don't have to worry."
"Yeah." With someone by his side, Chi Dong's panicked heart finally calmed down.
Time quickly came to one o'clock in the afternoon, and there was still an hour left before the lecture. Chidong and his friends planned to go there early. Although Peking University was not far from their school, they still had to take a bus to get there.
At this time, the two men were standing at the school gate. It was the coldest month of winter, the weather was bad, and a light snow fell from the sky. A gust of cold wind blew, cutting their skin like a knife.
Chi Dong and Zhou Yize were discussing whether to take a taxi. He was worried that there would be no taxis available at the school gate during this time. When he picked up his phone and opened the app to call a taxi, a small car drove slowly in the distance.
The car window rolled down, revealing a handsome face that was staring at them without blinking, as if waiting for them to get in the car.
Zhou Yize, who was standing next to Chi Dong, couldn't help but frown when he saw this man. He immediately frowned and said unhappily, "You're blocking the way, get out of the way!"
“…”
The visitor said nothing and made no attempt to leave.
The two men were in a stalemate, and time passed by minute by minute. Seeing this, Chi Dong was in a hurry to stop bothering himself with what happened between them. They were in such a mess, it was just like the king not meeting the king.
Chi Dong's face was anxious. He grabbed Zhou Yize's clothes and whispered: "Third brother, we are running out of time. It's too late to call a taxi now. How about... we take the second brother's car?"
Zhou Yize had no choice but to compromise in the end. He didn't want to see Chi Dong disappointed. After all, this was the first time he met the person he liked.
Although that person did not know Chidong.
"Okay, let's get in the car."
"Uh-huh."
Zhou Yize did not open the passenger seat as Cheng Mo wished, but turned around and opened the back seat and sat with Chi Dong. Cheng Mo, who was sitting in the front seat, knew that he would not choose to sit in the passenger seat, saying that he thought it was dirty.
Even though Cheng Mo had replaced that car with this one a long time ago, it would not have made any difference.
"Where are you going?"
“…Kyoto University.”
The car soon arrived at the gate of Peking University. Zhou Yize took advantage of the time when Cheng Mo stopped the car, opened the car door, pulled Chi Dong and ran away without looking back.
Cheng Mo, who was left there, sighed helplessly and rubbed his aching eyes. He hadn't slept the whole night and managed to stay up until morning before he hurried over to find him.
Cheng Mo guessed that Zhou Yize would not give him a good look, but he didn't expect him to be so cruel that he didn't even want him to get close.
Chi Dong was dragged forward with a bewildered look on his face. He finally followed the instructions and found the lecture hall. It was already packed with people. It was just past 1:30 at this time.
Now they only had an invitation letter in their hands. Chi Dong looked at Zhou Yize worriedly, lowered his head and whispered, "What should we do, Third Brother? How are you going to get in later?"
"Let me make a phone call first."
Zhou Yize took out his cell phone and walked to the door. He looked through the address book, found a number at the bottom, called it and spoke a few words. Not long after, a young man with sweat all over his face appeared at the door.
The young man had a very handsome appearance, and the way he grinned with bared teeth looked a little familiar, as if he had seen him somewhere before. Afterwards, the young man chatted with Zhou Yize for a few words, handed him the invitation letter in his hand, touched his head affectionately, and then left.
Zhou Yize came to Chi Dong with the invitation in his hand and said proudly, "Xiao Dong, look, I got the invitation."
Chi Dong looked at him suspiciously, wondering: "Third brother, who is that person? It seems like you two know each other very well."
Zhou Yize ignored him and directly avoided the topic, "Oh, it doesn't matter who he is. What matters is that I can get the invitation letter and get in."
"But he..." Chi Dong wanted to ask more, but was gently pushed into the lecture hall by Zhou Yize.
The two handed the invitation letter to the students checking at the door. After passing through, Zhou Yize looked around and finally found two adjacent seats in the corner with great difficulty.
Not long after the two of them sat down, they heard a noise from the distance, mixed with a few screams from time to time, as if they had seen a star.
They were sitting too far away, far from the door and the center, and they couldn't see anything when they stood up.
Chi Dong did not join in the fun, but instead took out a notebook, pen and other items from his backpack.
Zhou Yize, who was sitting next to him, watched him speechlessly as he took out item after item from his bag and placed them on the table in an orderly manner.
I wanted to see what else he could take out of his bag, but in the end, there were several things on his desk. I couldn't help but interrupt Chi Dong's actions and asked, "You... moved here?"
Chi Dong was puzzled when he was stopped. "No, I usually bring so many to class, but I don't put them out. But today is special, so I have to be careful."
Zhou Yize didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and helplessly advised: "Don't put it down. There's no room left at the table. Don't you see that the classmate next to you is staring at you in amazement?"
Chi Dong turned his head and, as expected, the female classmate sitting on his right was looking at them in shock, as if she was looking at a monster.
Chi Dong nodded to her shyly and whispered, "I'm sorry."
The girl came back to her senses from the shock and replied awkwardly, "It's okay." Then she turned her gaze away and stopped looking at them.
Two o'clock soon came, and Chi Dong stopped fiddling with the things on the table and sat in his seat seriously. Zhou Yize found his look quite funny, so he secretly took out his mobile phone and took a few photos when he was not paying attention.
Suddenly, there were bursts of exclamations from the back, louder and more lively than before, and thunderous applause echoed from the back throughout the entire venue.
A tall and upright figure walked onto the stage.
Chi Dong could no longer see anyone else after he saw that figure. He felt his heart pounding so fast that it seemed like it was going to jump out.
If Zhou Yize took the time to look at his expression at this moment, he would find that Chi Dong's face was covered with blushes and his breathing was rapid, completely different from what he had seen in the past.
But it was too noisy around, and it was the first time he saw the legendary figure, so his attention was all on the stage. He even took out his mobile phone to take a few photos. This was because the boss had been nagging him to take more photos last night.
The man on the stage took control of the situation in a short time and quickly entered his home court. He spoke calmly and eloquently throughout, citing classics and attracting the attention of everyone present.
Chi Dong was no exception. He stared at the figure in the distance intently, and his heart fell in love again. After seeing the true great god, Chi Dong felt that he was not worthy of him at all.
As my love for him grew, my inferiority complex also grew.
