Chapter 113 Listen to me, don't rush.

She couldn't figure it out, so she simply stopped thinking about it and hurriedly followed.

Upon arriving at the Delin residence, a massive black wooden house stood before us.

A family knight bowed slowly to Kefla, gently pushed open the black wooden door in front of him, and gestured for the two to enter.

The family had already received word from the knights that Kefla would be returning with Victor.

Upon entering the mansion, Victor looked around the rooms.

This enormous house is filled with various pieces of furniture made of the finest black walnut wood, and the overall black color scheme reflects a striking contrast between ruggedness and elegance.

Several huge animal pelts were nailed to the wooden house, and a warm fire crackled in the fireplace.

Although simple, it is very warm and cozy.

The Delin family needs to train knights for the empire at all times, which results in enormous expenses for the family.

Angus didn't waste a penny on home decor; the setting was just right.

Soon, a white-haired butler appeared before the two of them.

"Mr. Victor, please wait a moment."

"The patriarch will be back soon."

He turned to look at Kefla and said slowly:

"Young Miss."

"The head of the family said that there are some things he wants to discuss with Mr. Victor in person."

This was her father's way of intentionally keeping her out of the matter.

Kevlar clearly sensed this signal.

But why is that?

If her father intends to replace her with the other woman, then she should be present.

Could it be that she guessed wrong?

Kefla glanced at Victor with some concern, but he only nodded slightly and followed the servants, heading ahead towards the conference hall.

Just as Kefla was about to say something, the butler spoke up.

"Young Miss, perhaps you should go and see your younger brother."

"Young Master Jasmine is looking forward to your return, and he misses Miss Gwen, his sister."

The father was unhappy that Gwen hadn't returned.

So he used his brother's name to ask her questions, thus isolating her from the incident.

Ha, what an impeccable tactic.

Kefla watched as Victor and the servants disappeared completely from sight, then nodded faintly.

"Lead the way."

"Let me see if Jia Xiu has made any progress in recent years."

The butler bowed respectfully and gave Kefla another bow.

"yes."

...

Led by a servant, Victor was taken to a hall that was slightly more luxurious in comparison.

The feel of the sofa beneath him made Viktor feel quite relaxed, and the black walnut wood table in front of him exuded a natural charm.

The maid gently placed the tea in front of Victor and then withdrew.

Just as the butler said, the master of the house will be back soon.

The door was slowly pushed open, and a dignified middle-aged man walked in.

He was wearing a white cloth undershirt, which appeared to have some sweat stains, indicating that he had just taken off his armor.

Angus wasn't exactly muscular, but his silver hair was very messy, seemingly due to years of training that had left him unkempt, and his face also had some unshaven white stubble.

But Viktor knew that this man was of the same generation as his deceased father.

So he stood up first.

"Uncle Angus."

Regardless of what happens next, proper courtesy should not be neglected.

"It seems that not seeing you for a long time has not made you lose your manners, my nephew."

Angus's expression remained largely unchanged; he simply looked calmly at Viktor and sat down in the leather chair.

Viktor sat down again, his eyes showing no further emotion.

Finally, Angus spoke first.

“I’m very curious about how my late brother’s offspring became so outstanding.”

"He is so outstanding that my daughter is no longer good enough for him, and so outstanding that my family doesn't know how to approach him."

Viktor simply listened quietly to him speak, offering no further response whatsoever, merely being a polite listener.

Finally, Angus made another move.

He tucked his hands into his sleeves, as if years of harsh northern weather had made him accustomed to doing so.

Then he stood up and began to slowly pace around the room.

“I think you must be very intelligent, Viktor.”

"Perhaps when that letter reached your home, you learned the reason for my invitation."

Viktor's gaze never left him, and he diligently maintained a silent demeanor.

"But..."

He stood still, his gaze fixed on Viktor.

"The thing I'm most curious about is something that has been puzzling me for a long time."

"If I can't get an answer to this, I'll never be able to entrust Gwen to you with peace of mind."

"So, I need you to tell me..."

Whoosh!

Before the words were even finished, a chilling glint flashed out instantly, tearing the surrounding air in two into a vacuum at a speed that left no time for anyone to react.

clang!

A round shield appeared out of thin air. Viktor tilted his head slightly, holding the shield on his left arm, and easily deflected the sharp blade.

In a daze, health bars and levels appeared in front of Viktor.

Lv45

Angus gave a knowing look, his voice carrying a hint of coldness.

Who exactly are you?

The crows cawed hoarsely and coldly, and a flowing blue slowly appeared in Viktor's eyes.

"Don't rush."

Viktor wore a smile that conveyed confidence and nonchalance.

"Immediately, the one who gets beaten."

"It's you."
