Tick-tock, tick-tock.
In the dimly lit stone chamber, the flickering candlelight kept turning.
On the wall, a slender black shadow appeared long and thin in the dim candlelight.
Following the source of the fire, a man, bound by iron chains, stood prominently on a wooden stake.
He had a brown burlap sack on his head and his body was covered in bloody wounds.
Suddenly, the sack was untied, taken off, and tossed aside.
When the man opened his eyes, the darkness was mixed with a few glimmers of light, which made him feel somewhat uncomfortable for a moment.
Once his eyes had adjusted to the darkness, he opened them wide.
As soon as he moved, the sound of steel clashing together reached his ears, and his limbs were completely locked.
Looking up, he saw a dense crowd of mysterious people surrounding him.
She was draped in a black cloak, and half of her face was covered, leaving only her eyes visible as she stared at him.
"You! Do you know who I am?!"
No one around spoke, but a voice came from the side.
"Then do you know who I am?"
Lia sat on a leather chair with one leg crossed over the other.
She held a sharp carving knife and, seemingly out of boredom, meticulously filed down her nails.
The man stared intently, and when he saw Liya's delicate features, he froze on the spot.
Leah Clementina.
The Clevina family is now very famous throughout the capital, and their fame is in no way inferior to that of the royal family.
Moreover, in the city of Braxton, the Clevina family is practically all-powerful.
Even a stray dog walking by the roadside would wag its tail and bark twice at Viktor, my lord.
What, you're saying stray dogs can't talk?
Pull it down and stew it!
He never expected this at that moment.
I was just eating and singing at the most luxurious restaurant in Braxton.
Suddenly everything went black, and he was kidnapped by the Clavner family?
The man's body trembled uncontrollably, his lips quivered, and his entire body was soaked in cold sweat.
"Miss Liya... what's wrong...?"
"What, never seen a kidnapping before?"
Lia picked up the carving knife, twirled it in her hand, and stood up.
As she moved, mysterious figures dressed in cloaks followed behind Lia and surrounded her.
The man's body suddenly trembled, and a hint of fear crept into his eyes.
Lia picked up the carving knife, held it against the man's throat, and lifted his chin.
Her eyes held a hint of a smile, and her tone carried a touch of curiosity.
"Didn't you just ask us if we knew who you were?"
"I'm quite interested now, tell me about it."
The man's mind went blank for a moment, and he forgot to tremble.
My saliva was stuck in my throat, and I didn't even dare to swallow it.
Leon, standing beside Leah, whispered:
“Miss, his name is Hannah.”
"They are the carriers for the Leiser family, transporting goods between the north and south of the empire."
Lia raised an eyebrow as she listened to the report.
"Oh, from the Leiser family?"
"Knowing what grudges your family has against us, you still dare to wander around our area?"
A few drops of cold sweat trickled down Hannah's forehead. He let the sweat run down his nose, not daring to move an inch.
"Miss Lia, I... I just got lost..."
"get lost?"
Lia suddenly flung the carving knife in her hand, sending it flying towards Hannah and plunging it deep into the wooden board behind him.
He could even feel the sound of the carving knife striking the wooden board and the sound of it cutting through the air.
Hannah's breathing became heavier; the incredibly fast carving knife was just a hair's breadth away from slicing through his neck.
Lia looked at him with a smile and said softly:
"Clavina is such a big territory, how could you possibly get lost and end up at my doorstep?"
Hannah closed his eyes, trembling, and dared not utter another word.
Lia reached out to the side, and Leon, who was beside her, understood and handed her an alarm clock.
She wound up the clock in her hand and placed it next to the man's ear.
clang!
A crisp sound suddenly rang out.
The ticking sound that followed was like the death knell.
"Where is the goods hidden? Tell me."
"If you can't say anything before the alarm goes off, your head will be spinning."
The moment the alarm clock ticked, Hannah screamed in fright.
His features were contorted in pain, as if he were about to burst into tears.
"cry?"
As the sound rang out, a cloaked figure stepped forward and slapped the man hard across the face.
Snap!
With a crisp slap, the pitiful howl that was about to turn into a wail came to an abrupt halt.
Lia touched the alarm clock and said with a smile:
"Crying counts as time too."
Ring ring ring—!
The alarm clock suddenly started vibrating, and a series of metallic sounds echoed throughout the small, dimly lit basement.
Around them, the sound of several cold lights being drawn from their swords rang out.
Hannah stared wide-eyed at the silver dagger gleaming in the candlelight, then nodded frantically.
"I know, I'll tell you! I'll tell you!"
"That shipment was hidden...hidden in the port of Sano!"
Lia smiled, picked up the alarm clock, wound it up again, and the hands turned a full circle.
Hannah froze, staring at Leah with a puzzled expression:
"Miss Lia, what's wrong...?"
"I'll give you one more lap."
Lia smiled, her eyes narrowed:
