Duke Reeves appeared behind Erica, placing his hand on her shoulder, his face stern and cold.
Erica felt a chill run down her spine when she saw her father suddenly appear behind her.
I thought my plan to sneak away had been discovered.
Her eyes darted around as she pondered a solution, when she heard Duke Reeves ask her a question.
"Explain why you were able to stay on the magic circle for so long just now."
Erica breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing Duke Reeves' question.
The tense smile relaxed.
"Oh, so that's what it was about."
Erica went behind the Duke and said mysteriously, "That's because I have a treasure!"
"baby?"
Duke Reeves was puzzled. What kind of treasure had such amazing effects that it made Erica's mental power so strong?
Erica proudly told her father:
"It belongs to Professor Victor."
"What? Viktor's?"
Upon hearing this name, Duke Reeves was truly stunned.
He knew, of course, that Viktor was a genius, having become a professor at such a young age.
Viktor, you've actually created an item that can increase mental power?
No, that's not the point!
The key question is why Victor's items ended up in Erica's hands?
Viktor gave this to Erica? Was it to curry favor with her?
Duke Reeves was instantly enraged, feeling a fire ignite within him.
"Damn Victor, you're still after Erica after all!"
He wished he could twist Viktor's head off right now!
Anyone who dares to covet his precious daughter must be taught a lesson!
Turning around, he suddenly felt something was wrong. Didn't Erica hate Victor?
Why do you seem so proud of Viktor now?!
The Duke of Reeves was starting to feel uneasy; he suspected that Victor was abducting his daughter.
Seeing Duke Reeves's state, Erica took out a small blue potion from her bag.
"What's this?"
Duke Reeves saw the potion she took out and asked curiously.
This was the first time he had ever seen a blue potion.
"This was bought from Professor Victor's prop shop; it only cost a thousand Giornos a bottle!"
Duke Reeves: "..."
The misunderstanding has been cleared up.
He also thought that Victor had abducted Erica when he was at the academy.
Now it seems that it's not what I imagined.
He stared at the bottle of medicine in Erica's hand, then froze.
"etc!"
"Erica, how much do you think this costs?"
Duke Riviera wondered if there was something wrong with his ears. One thousand Giorgios? He must have misheard.
Erica puffed out her chest and proudly repeated, "One thousand Geo!"
Duke Reeves: "..."
When did he raise such a spendthrift daughter?
Never mind, never mind, she's my own daughter, my own flesh and blood.
Duke Reeves took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and forced a smile, saying to Erica with a strained grin:
"Your father has never taught you to waste money, has he?"
Erica, upon hearing her father say such a thing, immediately retorted:
"I didn't waste money!"
"Your mental strength is no longer sufficient to support the magic array, is it?"
Duke Reeves nodded.
Just as Erica said, although countless second-tier mages provided magic power, her own mental energy was already mostly depleted, so she had to come down and rest.
This is something that no mage can do.
Even if one possesses powerful magic, if one's mental strength is insufficient, one cannot mobilize magic power, set up formations, carve runes, or cast spells.
If someone could cast spells continuously for three days and three nights without collapsing from exhaustion.
Let's not say anything more, let's just have a big fight.
Even boasting shouldn't be this outrageous.
Even so, Levi still remembered Erica's heroic figure as she continuously channeled magic power into the magic circle for five hours.
Could it be related to this thing?
"Try this."
Erica opened the cap of the medicine and handed it to her father.
Duke Reeves frowned as he looked at the small bottle of blue potion, feeling somewhat resistant; it didn't look like anything of value.
"This...liquid...looks like industrial wastewater filled with pigments."
Is this stuff even tasty?
"Hurry up and drink it down!"
Erica urged him on.
Hearing his daughter's urging, Duke Reeves resisted and forced the drink down his throat.
Whoosh!
A faint blue glow appeared on his body.
Almost instantly, half of his mental energy was restored.
That was enough to allow him to continue casting spells.
He felt his tired spirit instantly lighten up.
Duke Reeves rubbed his forehead, the fatigue from before almost completely dissipating.
As a high-level mage who had been immersed in the third tier for over thirty years, he naturally knew how amazing the effects of this thing were.
Taking advantage of the fact that no one was around, he decisively put away the empty bottle, bent down to protect Erica, and whispered in her ear:
"This must not be spread, at least not now!"
"Tell Dad, how many bottles do you have left?"
Erica started counting on her fingers.
