Chapter 31 Your Grace, I Have a Fiancée

Viktor didn't take it seriously.

His father had died long ago, and even if he were still alive, he wouldn't be his real father.

Victor looked down and saw Duke Reeves kneeling on the ground.

He remained kneeling, head bowed, like a sinner on trial.

Same as at the beginning.

Victor said, "Your Majesty, there is one more thing."

“I want to seek justice for Duke Reeves.”

The Duke suddenly raised his head and looked at Victor in disbelief.

The emperor also responded with an interested "Oh?"

“Victor, just say what you want to say.”

After receiving permission, Viktor nodded and said:

"Duke Reeves was also aware of this matter."

"The Duke and I had already agreed that I would fight the monsters inside the volcano, while Duke Rivi would lead the magic array outside."

"If I fail, then Duke Reeves will unleash war magic to suppress the monsters."

The emperor raised his head and gave him an approving look.

"So, you succeeded."

This statement was not only an answer to Victor, but also addressed to all the mages present.

But some mages, failing to grasp the situation, shouted from the crowd:

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

"You have no relation to the Duke? There is absolutely no possibility of you communicating!"

Viktor turned his head and gave him a disdainful look, then said coldly.

“Erica du Chloe is my proudest student.”

Do you have any more questions?

The monk was speechless.

At this moment, everyone realized that Victor had another identity: the youngest professor at the Royal Magic Academy.

Viktor's plan was flawless and impeccable; everything had been meticulously planned long ago.

No, there's still a chance things can turn around.

The mages who were still thinking of kicking the Duke all looked at Gwen expectantly.

They were disappointed, because they heard a cold, hard statement from Gwen:

“Your Majesty, Victor is not lying.”

The emperor smiled, and, brimming with confidence, sat on his throne, announcing the final judgment:

"Rive is innocent."

......

Victor walked out of the palace expressionlessly, and not a single mage dared to disturb him.

A black crow perched on the railing at the entrance, waiting for him.

Victor went up and patted the crow's head.

“Victor Clavner”.

Duke Reeves came out and greeted Victor by name the moment he saw him.

When Victor heard someone call his name, he turned around and returned Duke Reeves's glance.

Duke Riviera was a kind man, but at this moment, even towards Victor, who had helped him, he appeared somewhat indifferent.

“State your purpose.”

Viktor paused in stroking the bird's head, placed Vega on his shoulder, and looked at his father, who bore a striking resemblance to Erica.

"What does Your Grace wish for me to achieve?"

Reeve's gaze toward Viktor held a hint of danger.

Victor sighed and said:

"Your Grace, being overly protective of your daughter is not always a good thing."

"Don't worry, I have a fiancée."

Duke Rivi thought of the knight who dared to lie in front of a group of mages and the emperor.

He himself never expected that the powerful knight, known for his justice, would lie for Victor.

There were frequent rumors that the two had a bad relationship, but now it seems that this is not the case.

He relaxed a little.

“However, since you’ve said so, Duke…”

While he was pondering, Viktor's voice suddenly rang out.

The Duke looked at Victor and sensed that there seemed to be a hint of... calculation in his eyes.

“It wouldn’t be right for me not to do anything to Erica…”
