Chapter 37 Let me think about how to beat you up today.

A black figure squeezed out from a crack in the wall, like ink spread on the floor. It began to rise gradually until it covered the entire room.

Henney was startled and took a few steps back; she couldn't see the creature in the black ink.

He hurriedly pulled out a box of matches from his pocket and was about to light them.

She had just lit a tiny flame, and before she could even lift her eyes, the flame was instantly extinguished by the darkness.

"Why...it's happening again..."

"Isn't one or two instances of ridicule enough?"

Hene asked, her emotions somewhat overwhelmed.

The dark figure fell silent, simply staring at her.

Yes, I was just staring at her.

As if it could read Henney's mind, it opened its pitch-black maw and spoke, its voice like a demonic whisper that filled Henney's ears.

“I know what you need, little girl.”

"You stay here and wait for me."

The sound stopped abruptly, and the darkness in the room vanished instantly with the silence.

The entire office fell silent once more.

Hene raised her head; she knelt weakly on the ground, her face showing neither joy nor sorrow.

...

Soon, the shadowy figure that had just disappeared returned.

Suffocating black ink returned and filled the entire house.

It moved in and out of the mage tower like a gust of wind.

Hene looked up at the dark figure and suddenly froze.

She then realized that this was the Mage Tower.

Only authorized personnel can freely enter and exit.

Why is this dark shadow able to appear here?

Before she could think about it for long, the dark shadow in front of her suddenly appeared in the outline of a figure.

She couldn't make out what it was, but she could vaguely see that the monster had opened its huge mouth and suddenly stuck its arm into its throat and stirred it around.

After a series of gurgling sounds, the dark figure stretched out its giant hand.

It pulled three orbs of light from its stomach, as if they were a ray of hope for Hennie in her despair.

“Little girl,” Mo Ying spoke, followed by a strange sound, “Hmm… ugh… smack smack…”

"You need power, right?"

"I……"

Henney trembled slightly, completely unaware of what was happening and oblivious to how disgusting the sight before her was.

"Come, this is the power you need."

"Touch it, and it's yours."

Hene sensed something was wrong, but every word the dark figure in front of her uttered seemed to be filled with intense temptation.

As if guided by some unseen force, she reached out and touched the ball of light.

Mo Ying's smile widened even further.

...

Early the next morning, Viktor alighted from the carriage and stood at the entrance of the academy.

He's back.

I've returned to this college after a long absence.

In fact, if Leah hadn't angrily yelled at him to leave early in the morning, Victor would have stayed home for another morning.

'Should we send her back to our territory?'

Viktor thought to himself, then turned away and abandoned the idea.

Even if she were sent back, Lia would definitely keep traveling back and forth between the capital and her territory because of business matters.

I'll still inevitably argue with him a bit when the time comes.

Viktor walked into the academy and felt a gaze sweep over him.

That was the headmaster's magic—[Natural Sparrow]

During his time as a third-tier mage, Victor could not sense this natural force.

After advancing to the fourth rank, he clearly sensed an unharmonious flow of magical energy in the air.

Viktor looked up at the sky, where countless birds flitted about the academy.

The dean's gaze swept over the entire academy.

Their gaze quickly left him, presumably having confirmed his identity.

The royal family has issued a statement declaring Duke Reeves and Victor innocent.

Of course, only a small number of nobles knew the details of the events from the near-eruption of the volcano to the end of this series of events.

Therefore, Victor's return did not cause a sensation in the academy.

Viktor walked naturally down the road, completely oblivious to the stares of those around him, deep in thought about how he should hand over the next course.

The students who were passing by Viktor were all happily welcoming the new day, but when they saw Viktor's expressionless face, they were shocked.

He froze on the spot, speechless.

Viktor was completely unaware of the profound cognitive changes his presence would bring to the students around him.

"Who is that? Such a terrifying, oppressive feeling..."

"Yeah, as he walked past me, I almost thought he was going to drain all my magic power..."

One student abruptly pulled the others away, lowering his voice and saying fiercely:

"Are you all crazy?! That's Victor Clavner! We absolutely cannot let him hear us saying bad things about him!"

"He... is that infamous, bastard mage!?"

"How terrifying..."

Viktor walked through the campus, maintaining a poker face, breathing in the fresh campus air.

Soon, he encountered some unpleasant things.

The commotion ahead caught his attention.

That's the student dormitory.

A group of students gathered at the entrance, and three students with dark complexions and unconsciousness were carried out from inside.

Something's not right.

Vega whispered a reminder in Victor's ear.

"These students who are unconscious have lost their 'magic'."
