Golden, abundant starlight gradually rose from beneath the earth, like a faint ray of dawn, slowly ascending towards the sky.
Under the hazy, flowing golden light, the twinkling lights spread out like a distant wave.
Deep in the forest, the demi-humans, still training, run across the grass carrying heavy stones on their backs.
Unbeknownst to them, a golden light appeared beneath their feet, flowing like water through their fur.
They gradually stopped and looked towards the distant golden light.
At the same time, golden light of abundance gradually emanated from Michaela's body and fell upon Gwen, who was as cold as ice.
Bright and gentle golden light converged, bathing Gwen in warmth.
Michaela looked at her with those nebulous eyes and calmly explained:
“I am using the power of the goddess of abundance to guide you.”
"If the goddess of abundance is willing to accept you, she can remove all external forces from your body, and you will return to normal."
At this point, a reassuring and confident smile appeared on Michaela's face.
It seems to be telling of the goddess of abundance's magnanimity and kindness.
The golden light gradually faded, and the bright sunlight that had pierced the sky was once again obscured by clouds and disappeared.
Everything returned to calm, but Gwen remained standing in the same spot, making no further moves.
Silence, a silence as still as death.
"Well?"
Michaela stood there, somewhat dazed.
Why hasn't anything happened?
Michaela was somewhat confused.
Did the goddess of abundance reject Gwen, or did Gwen, deep in her unconscious mind, still hold fast to her faith in the goddess of justice?
She was a little skeptical.
There must be something wrong with the ceremony.
Thinking this, she looked up again.
Looking at the bright sky, golden light emerged and surged from her body as she chanted incantations.
The moment the incantation for the ritual rang from Michaela's lips, Gwen finally acted.
She drew her sword, its blade gleaming with crimson flames, from her waist, and her silver armor swept across the rustling grass as she charged toward Michaela.
Michaela was caught off guard as Gwen charged toward her with a fierce aura.
clang!
The next second, a black figure blocked her way.
In the blink of an eye, Victor appeared beside Michaela.
In his hand, a wooden vine was wrapped around his sword, which easily blocked Gwen's fiery slash.
As the two collided, a gust of wind arose, and a deafening explosion of air erupted.
Even Michaela's black nun's habit was stirred by the shockwave, her long garments swaying and making a whooshing sound.
Victor and Gwen faced off, their arms pressed together.
Gwen was held back by Victor.
Seeing Victor instantly appear in front of her, Michaela was speechless with amazement.
Wait a minute, isn't Viktor a mage?
Wait, why would Viktor's fiancée suddenly attack him?
These questions popped into Mikaela's mind one by one.
It was something she couldn't understand.
The next second, Gwen exerted a little force with her arm, deflecting Viktor's wooden sword and taking a few steps back.
Then, her legs unleashed power once more, charging towards Michaela.
The flaming sword reached right up to Michaela's eyes, as if it wanted to blind her completely.
Viktor once again vanished in a blur, stirring up a gust of wind.
The wooden sword was raised horizontally, once again blocking the crimson attack.
Seeing the two locked in a standoff, Michaela couldn't help but clench her hands tightly in front of her chest.
Although, I felt a great sense of security from Viktor.
But she always felt that Gwen's condition was due to an accident during her divine ritual.
Instead, she felt somewhat guilty and said to Viktor with a hint of apology:
“Please…please wait a moment, Mr. Victor, I think I will find out the reason.”
"Need not."
While easily deflecting Gwen's relentless attacks, Victor responded to Michaela:
"I already know the reason."
Vega, perched on his shoulder, was telling him about Gwen's current physical condition.
The rituals performed by the spirits of Mikaela are effective.
Under the gentle influence of the goddess of abundance, Gwen's consciousness has fallen into a deep sleep.
What's still supporting Gwen's body right now is just her body's instincts.
Her subconscious mind viewed Michaela's ritual as a threat.
So he subconsciously activated his body and resisted.
Moreover, it is this very physical instinct that has caused Gwen to become the way she is now.
The question that Victor had been curious about was finally starting to look promising.
For example, why does Gwen exhibit such a self-protective instinct?
Perhaps something happened when Gwen was little.
There are still many steps needed to solve this problem.
At least for now, it's just the beginning.
clang!
Victor easily deflected Gwen's attack, then, without turning his head, said to Michaela behind him:
“Starting today, your church may be attacked by those extremists.”
"If anything unexpected happens, go find Priscilla."
"I'll help you solve it after that."
Michaela was momentarily stunned by these words.
She opened her mouth to speak, but a sudden gust of wind blocked her words.
A fierce wind swept across the green grass, creating a trail of dust and even scattering the golden specks of light in the air.
The storm swept through, and the next second, Viktor transformed into a phantom form, stirring up Gwen amidst the wind.
