The Cassidra Chamber of Commerce is a very interesting organization.
This chamber of commerce did indeed receive divine protection, but to be honest, no one can say for sure whether it truly counts as protection.
The deity who blessed the Cassidra Merchant Guild is, strictly speaking, not simply a god of commerce.
Because he even protected livestock and theft.
He is also known as a cunning god full of sophistry and ingenious craftsmanship.
Cunning is not just a matter of words.
This deity would occasionally transform into a human and appear in various parts of the world, using his cunning and shrewdness to ensnare the rich.
But it was precisely because of his cunning that he became a revered deity among merchants.
After all, merchants need the art of language; they need to exaggerate the value of their products to entice customers to shop at their stores.
Even if what you're selling is a handful of the most unappealing cow dung, you have to make it sound fragrant and delicious.
If it can be sold at a high price, then at the moment of successful sale, that price is the value of that handful of cow dung.
Even if it really is just a pile of cow dung.
That's what merchants are like; they can give useless things fancy names and sell them for exorbitant prices.
As the patron god of commerce, this deity also possesses an eloquent tongue, surpassing even that of all merchants.
Moreover, he was also a thief skilled at stealing.
This god's greatest pleasure was stealing the goods of the rich and then selling them to those who were even wealthier.
He eventually made a huge profit, which he then reinvested in his business fund.
When the god gets bored, he will distribute his wealth to all those in need.
Normally, it would be unusual for a merchant guild to be founded by such a deity for so long, and for him not to lose interest in it.
Rather, it's more accurate to say that this deity had long since abandoned the merchant guild.
The first president of the Cassidra Chamber of Commerce was named Pizzi Nandner.
But before becoming president, he had another identity.
That was the first follower of the god of commerce.
One day, this god got so bored that he started imitating other gods and began collecting followers.
So he found his target among a group of beggars on the street.
This beggar was different from others; he didn't just beg on the ground.
His income depended entirely on his eloquence; he could eloquently explain the value of himself and the items he picked up at random.
"Sir, I imagine you're new here and might need someone to show you around..."
"My goodness, beautiful lady, you have the most beautiful bearing I've ever seen. I think you need an even more beautiful dress to complement it..."
“Your Excellency, why not try this cane that would suit your attire better tonight?”
One day, just as the beggar Pizzi was leaving the entrance of a lively party, he immediately ran into a rich young master.
Pizzi was immediately delighted when he saw the young master.
Because this young master looked so wealthy, even wearing a gold chain and a gold ring.
"Young master, would you like to...?"
However, the young master suddenly spoke, his eyes fixed on Pizzi:
Do you need money?
Although Pizzi just smiled at first, the young master still insisted on asking again.
In the end, Pizzi could only nod.
Then the young master suddenly spoke solemnly.
"Believe in me, as long as you believe in me..."
Pizzi thought the young master was crazy and turned to leave.
He had just turned around when he suddenly felt a pressure that made him kneel down on the ground.
He opened the purse in his hand, and in a daze, the empty wallet was filled with gold bars.
The light shone so brightly that Piqi's eyes were filled with gold.
"Now, do you believe me?"
The cunning and shrewd god spread out his broad palms.
In the golden light, Pizzi Nandner became the first follower of this treacherous god.
Piqi was overjoyed to receive the handful of gold, and the god who brought him wealth then taught him many money-making tips.
After the entire teaching was completed, the smiling deity said something surprising to his new believer:
"After you die, you must return all the money you have earned to me."
Pizzi agreed.
Pizzi then used the first pile of gold to vigorously expand trade.
His talent was evident to all, and his additional business acumen brought him great wealth.
Pizzi's rapid accumulation of wealth made him a financial tycoon of that era.
On the last day of his life, the god of treachery appeared at his bedside.
The purpose was to seize Pizzi's life's wealth.
However, as a businessman, Pizzi naturally possessed the cunning of a businessman.
He claimed that all the money he had ever saved in his life was stored in a safe.
When they opened it, there were only a few gold coins inside.
Because he left all his wealth to his children, the gold coins in his possession became all of Pizzi's property.
The cunning god was deceived for the first time, and by his own followers no less.
However, their agreement only covered Pizzi's lifetime earnings, without explicitly stating whether his descendants' earnings would be included.
The deity was both angry and delighted. He took the gold coins and left this world.
However, when he disappeared, he left behind a sentence:
"Tell your descendants to keep an eye on this money. One day I will steal it all away."
Nandner's descendants were terrified of being targeted by the gods, but they did nothing but make money through business.
