Chapter 40 No enemies yet? It's not too late to make one now.

"Henry? It really is you!"

What are you doing here?

Erica was pleasantly surprised; she never expected to run into an acquaintance while visiting the back of the academy.

However, she was also curious about what Henne was doing on this deserted mountaintop.

When Hene saw Erica, her previous cold demeanor vanished almost instantly. Her eyes darted around, and she stammered as she spoke.

"No, it's nothing... I just came here for a walk."

Erica was unaware that Henney had been fired, and Henney didn't intend to tell her either, as she didn't want to worry her.

However, Erica's appearance surprised her somewhat, and she asked:

What are you doing here?

"Why haven't you come to the academy yet?"

Upon hearing Henney's question, Erica suddenly huffed and puffed out her sleeve, explaining:

“My father must have been out of his mind. When he came back, he put me in solitary confinement for several days.”

“Yesterday was even worse. They inexplicably decided to hire several personal trainers for me.”

In fact, Duke Reeves had warned Erica to have less contact with Victor, and it was because of this that Erica learned from Duke Reeves that Victor had returned.

Both were found innocent by the royal family.

But she couldn't tell Henney about these things.

So, in a bad mood, Erica kicked a pebble on the mountaintop, which rolled down the cliff with a crisp sound.

"I couldn't hold back any longer today, so I secretly ran away while my father was out, just to come to the school and see if Professor Victor was there."

Erica was planning to sneak into the academy from the back of the mountain, but she unexpectedly ran into Henney.

Hearing Viktor's name, Henney's heart skipped a beat.

She remembered what the German professor had said.

'Professor Victor most likely died in the volcano.'

Hene thought this to herself, but didn't tell Erica about it.

Erica seemed unaware of this and intended to keep it a secret.

Watching Erica breathe in the fresh mountain air, Henney calmly said:

“Professor Victor hasn’t come back yet, and I’ve been covering for him for the past few days.”

Hearing this, Erica felt a little disappointed.

She desperately wanted to know from Victor what had happened at the volcano that day.

After finally managing to sneak out, Viktor didn't show up for work.

Unfortunately, Erica had no choice but to accept reality.

"Okay, I'll head back now."

"If my father knew I had secretly run away, he would definitely keep a close watch on me at home and not let me go out."

Just as Henny was about to say something, she saw Erica hesitate for a moment before continuing;

"I'll come again tomorrow. If Professor Victor returns, please let me know."

Hene nodded, which was taken as an agreement.

She saw Erica and was very happy, her eyes filled with anticipation, before she quickly turned and left.

'That's wonderful, she...'

Hene's eyes were filled with envy.

She envied Erica.

She has a distinguished family background, amazing talent, and perfect looks.

She can be carefree and full of expectations for life.

And what about myself?

Living in constant fear, passing each day without any hope.

It seems that what the professor said is really true.

Trash only deserves to stay in a garbage dump.

In a daze, she looked again in the direction Erica had gone, but could no longer see the other's dazzling figure.

Hene shook her head, as if she were laughing bitterly at her own misery.

Tomorrow?

That's fine.

She no longer needs to look forward to the future.

Everything, including herself.

Everything will come to an end tomorrow.

"Let's continue."

........

A burst of intense heat suddenly ignited from the soles of Professor Devon's feet, and the intense burning sensation instantly roused him from his slumber.

Professor Devon felt a burning pain all over his body.

"ah!"

He instantly regained consciousness, and the pain made him scream.

Then, he realized that he was tied up and his body was hanging precariously from the ceiling.

The flames subsided, allowing Professor Devon's view to become much clearer.

The first thing he saw was Victor, sitting in a chair with an indifferent expression.

Instantly, fear filled Devon's eyes.

"Victor! What exactly do you want?"

"You're going to kill me for a teaching assistant? Are you insane?!"

"Do you really want to make an enemy of the Leiser family?!"

Viktor sat in his chair, looking at him coldly, and asked calmly:

"Have we never had a feud?"

Devon's voice faltered for a moment, then he hurriedly said, "No...not before, believe me, Viktor, there's no hatred between us."

"Then, knowing that Heni is one of my people, why did you do that?"

Devon's eyes widened.

"You...already knew?"

"No! Believe me, Viktor, I just didn't like you at first, but I didn't mean to take it out on that... whatever..."

boom!

A fireball, like a ferocious tiger, hurtled towards Devon and struck the wall behind him.

Devon was so frightened that he trembled all over and quickly said:

"Henry! I remember now! It's Heney! That little girl is so cute, yes!"

“I’m so jealous! I’m jealous that she, as a teaching assistant, was able to teach a whole class, you know? After you left, many professors were envious of that class. The lecturer who leads a whole class will have a very high salary and reputation.”
