Chapter 423 Finally Legal

After putting her pajamas back on, Lia curled up in bed and carefully wrapped herself tightly in the blanket.

She gently covered her face with one hand, burying her entire head in the thick blankets, her cheeks flushed with a faint blush.

On one side of the room is a huge glass window.

The delicate curtains hang gently, subtly blocking out the outside light and creating a quiet and tranquil atmosphere in the room.

Upon entering the room, a soft sofa is visible to the left.

Victor sat on the sofa, leaning back lazily.

His black trench coat hung casually on the ground, his gaze fixed intently on Lia, whose face was buried in the blankets.

Lia slowly raised her head, and through her fingers, the blush on her cheeks became even more pronounced.

Victor looked at her, about to say something, when he was interrupted by a calm voice:

"Don't speak yet."

Viktor promptly shut his mouth and quietly became a listener.

Lia remained silent, her face still covered.

His gaze was fixed blankly on a corner of the room, completely ignoring Viktor.

There are so many things I want to say, but I can't say anything at all.

I closed my eyes, but my mind went blank, and I couldn't concentrate.

Yes, think about it, how much property does the Claverner Territory still have...

No, absolutely not. My mind is a complete mess; I can't remember anything.

The scene of Viktor suddenly appearing behind her was etched deeply into her memory like a brand.

No matter what she was thinking about, those fragmented thoughts would always flash through her mind.

She wondered if Victor's appearance was too much of a coincidence.

How did Victor happen to appear just as she was changing clothes?

Lia felt increasingly distressed the more she thought about it.

And she also remembered Victor's initial explanation:

"So you're trying to tell me that a high-level mage who can teleport was actually swallowed by a treasure chest and just happened to appear in the scene where my sister is changing clothes, right?"

Viktor nodded calmly.

Lia took a deep breath, raised her head, and stared blankly at the ceiling.

Upon noticing Viktor, her first reaction wasn't to scream or yell.

She was even thinking about the other person.

If word gets out that Viktor was peeping at his sister changing clothes.

That would have a serious impact on the reputation of Victor and the entire Clevner family.

Therefore, Lia wisely chose to remain silent.

In the end, reason prevailed over instinct.

But as she gradually calmed down, a sense of shame began to well up inside her.

She finally realized that she had been seen naked.

And this person was her brother.

Victor Clevina.

My original rationality is gradually collapsing, at least for now.

Shame is gradually taking hold of my heart again.

The Clevina family had very strict upbringing, especially regarding the education of boys and girls.

From a young age, her father and the servants constantly reminded and educated her.

Maintain appropriate distance from the opposite sex, even close family members.

Even though Lia always called Victor "brother, brother" when she was little, she always kept the family's educational principles in mind.

The kind of melodramatic plot where a child takes a bath with their older brother and sleeps in the same bed is impossible.

Under the influence of long-term education, the idea that "you can only be completely open with your future lover" was instilled in Lia's mind from a young age.

Although she has never met anyone who could make her heart flutter since she was a child.

After all, with an exceptionally outstanding older brother, it's even harder for her to catch the eye of people her own age.

However, her beliefs are now beginning to crumble.

Just as the foundation of a towering building was dismantled by an earthquake, countless pieces of rubble and rocks fell to the ground, raising clouds of dust that swept thousands of feet high.

After all, what's done is done, and Lia, who originally had no intention of getting married, is now even more unable to find a husband.

In any sense.

"Heh... Haha."

Leah couldn't accept being seen naked by her brother in such a dramatic way.

This was even the result of her own actions.

Thinking that the treasure chest might be her father's keepsake, she had Helnason move it to her bedroom.

But who would have thought that a Victor would jump out of the treasure chest?

So that's what Cocoy meant when he said "there's something wrong with the treasure chest."

If I had known it would turn out like this, I should have listened to Coco and left the box in the living room.

If all else fails, you can leave them outside the mansion.

A surge of emotions rushed to Leah's mind.

Her eyes were empty and vacant, and a dry laugh came from her throat, full of helplessness.

She lowered her head and looked at Victor, her somewhat dazed expression seemingly on the verge of collapse.

"So, why did you come out of that treasure chest?"

"Those things were from Father's grave..."

As Viktor listened to Lia's question, he looked up and met her somewhat eerie gaze.

He sighed, and his calm voice slowly rang out:

"To verify some things."

"And while you're at it, bring out what he hid in the tomb."

Lia lay frozen on the bed, her empty eyes seeming to pierce through Victor, gazing into the far, far distance.

"Some...things?"

Viktor looked at Lia, who was staring blankly with confusion, and thought for a moment.

I wanted to come up with some excuse to brush her off, but then I thought about it.

He still intends to tell the truth:

“Someone told me that the Clevinas are a cursed family.”
