The morning light gently peeked out from behind the mountains.
Golden light spilled onto the blue brick streets of the capital, casting a soft glow over the ancient city.
Glug glug—
The wheels rumbled and sped along the blue brick road, the sounds of their bumps echoing through the morning air.
Ornately decorated carriages, inlaid with jewels, converged on the center of the capital from all directions.
The towering palace appeared even more magnificent under the golden morning light.
The sound of horses' hooves coming from all directions gradually blended together and finally calmed down in the square in front of the palace.
The nobles, supported by their servants, slowly emerged from the carriage.
They gathered together, yet without a single word of greeting.
The ministers and nobles focused their attention on the towering palace.
They marched steadily and neatly in rows on both sides of the palace, surging towards it.
Everyone knows that a major event will take place in the palace today.
The reason, of course, is the return of the head of the Nareser family.
And these hurried ministers were all spectators of this grand drama.
The nobles stood in neat rows in front of the palace gates, the morning light shining on their magnificent robes, outlining a dazzling brilliance.
They were just about to enter the palace when they suddenly stood at the door at the same time.
Because, without anyone noticing, a man had already taken up a seat in the center of the palace.
It exudes a calm and mysterious aura.
He stood with his feet on the red carpet, facing the throne, but showed no respect or humility whatsoever.
The two sides of the palace were empty and quiet, as if waiting for the arrival of the subjects.
Red curtains hung high from the golden ceiling, flowing like a river and gracefully sweeping across the ground.
The man squinted, his lips slightly upturned, seemingly with a barely perceptible smile.
He looked somewhat thin and young, with a handsome face without a single wrinkle.
Wearing a crisp, tailored suit, with the Leather family crest pinned to his chest like a golden, blooming flower.
Wearing a black top hat and holding a cane, he stood quietly, gazing at the throne before him.
Two small golden wings were also inlaid above the edge of his ears.
His golden eyes seemed to constantly reveal an ever-changing mystery and majesty.
The ministers standing at the palace gate all stared wide-eyed when they saw him.
Because of this person, they not only recognized him, but were also very familiar with his identity.
Lipoulter Reiser.
His reappearance was undoubtedly a good omen, at least for the ministers who supported the eldest prince.
However, none of these ministers and nobles received prior notice.
I originally thought that someone as distinguished as Riboot Reiser would arrive in the capital with a luxurious convoy.
Then, he had these ministers rush to welcome him at the city gate.
In the worst-case scenario, some important ministers should be invited.
With the addition of grand colorful flags fluttering and a red carpet strewn with flowers, the royal relative entered the city with great joy.
But the sudden and unexpected return of the head of the Leiser family surprised everyone.
It was so quiet it was almost unnatural.
All the nobles present had their own intelligence leads.
The loyal shadows below, hidden in various places, diligently collect all kinds of intelligence.
At the very least, they can all be considered experts in secretly gathering information.
However, no one noticed that such a significant event as the head of the Leiser family had returned to the capital.
All they knew was that the head of the Leiser family would be returning to the capital soon.
The next morning, they were already waiting at the palace for a long time.
He appeared suddenly before all the nobles like a ghost.
This person is as mysterious as ever.
Nothing has changed.
However, Lipoulte simply stood on the red carpet, motionless.
He ignored the murmurs of the ministers coming from afar.
Then, as if sensing something, he slowly raised his head and looked into the deep passage at the heart of the throne.
The other nobles followed his gaze and looked behind the throne.
There, a hunched figure slowly emerged from the darkness.
His thick robes trailed on the ground, and his hunched back strode leisurely toward the throne.
Despite his hunched posture, to others his body still resembled a mountain, exuding a somber and majestic aura.
The distance was so great that it made all the ministers present feel their hearts race.
Only Ripoultry stood still, his expression calm and composed.
Aubrey put his hands behind his back and walked alone to the throne.
Feeling the heavy pressure looming over them, the fine beads of sweat on the foreheads of the nobles revealed their unease.
They crowded in front of the door, bowing as respectfully as they could.
When the emperor appeared before him, Leopold placed one hand lightly on his chest and bowed gracefully to the emperor.
Then, he slowly began to speak:
"I returned to the capital without notifying the imperial family. I hope Your Majesty will not blame me."
Even in front of the emperor, he maintained his calm and elegant demeanor.
This made all the nobles extremely envious.
Aubrey sat on the throne, his gaze heavy and clouded, staring directly at Leopold.
He waved his hand and said:
"Let's skip the bowing."
"And you guys, if you have something to say, come inside. Standing at the door is not a good look."
