The crimson sun slowly rose from behind the mountain range, and the orange-red and pink rosy clouds on the horizon gradually illuminated the entire sky.
The faint twilight seemed to fall gently from the sky, like a light veil gently draped down by a celestial being.
Early in the morning, the Clevner family's horse-drawn carriage, which did not require a horse to pull, was already quietly parked in front of the mansion gate, bathed in the rising sun.
The winter air always carries a biting chill, and all around is quiet.
But the first sound to break the morning quiet at Clevner House was a metallic clang coming from the mansion's main gate.
A maid walked lazily out of the mansion.
She opened her mouth, rubbed her eyes which had just woken up, and yawned.
The white, hazy mist rose rapidly in the air, then vanished in the blink of an eye.
His sleepy-eyed appearance made it clear at a glance that he had just woken up.
She was carrying a heavy cloth bag filled with the household garbage that the Clevner family had accumulated the day before.
But she had only just stepped outside when, in the blink of an eye, she saw the carriage that was not being pulled by any horses.
She recognized it at a glance; it was the personal carriage of the Victor family head.
There's not even a need to specifically identify the family crest.
As for why?
Because in the entire capital, only Victor's carriage was without horses.
The maid curiously stepped forward to see if anyone was inside.
Just as she was about to peek forward, the carriage door suddenly opened automatically.
The maid was startled by the commotion. She turned around and took a few steps, watching a familiar figure emerge from the carriage.
Victor, still wearing his signature black trench coat, stepped out of the carriage with steady steps.
As the night passed, his body was covered in the frost of the night.
Even his hair and eyebrows couldn't escape being covered in frost, making him look like a silver-haired nobleman.
Similarly, Vega naturally couldn't escape either.
The edges of its jet-black feathers were almost entirely streaked with ice crystals, making it a strange black and white raven.
However, it seemed somewhat displeased when it looked at Viktor.
It's as if it's saying:
'You've been in the carriage all night, didn't you even cast a fire spell to warm yourself up?'
As Victor stepped off the carriage, a slight breeze stirred around him.
Withered leaves swept across the street, and heavy dust swirled up to a height of half a meter.
A chilling aura seemed to emanate from the carriage as well, making one's cheeks sting slightly.
She stared intently at Viktor, her heart racing, and a blush gradually spreading across her cheeks.
Realizing her lapse in composure, she quickly bowed to Viktor.
"Master, I will go and inform Miss Liya that you have returned."
As she spoke, she put down the trash in her hand and quickly turned to head back to the mansion.
He had just taken a step when a cold, aloof voice called out to him:
"Need not."
The maid immediately stopped and stood motionless in place.
Until Victor's figure in a black trench coat passed by her.
Viktor's words of advice echoed in her ears:
"Don't tell her I didn't come home all night."
"Okay...okay."
She nodded, and when she turned around, she saw that Viktor's figure had already disappeared into the cold wind.
The maid watched Victor's departing figure, a hint of confusion in her eyes.
It seems like... the head of the family is afraid of being discovered by Miss Liya.
In her mind, this felt more like the subtle atmosphere between husband and wife than between siblings.
After the disrespectful thought flashed through her mind, she quickly reached out and patted her cheeks.
After quickly shaking off all the random thoughts in her mind, the maid picked up the trash again and headed outside.
Meanwhile, Victor was standing at the entrance of the mansion.
He hesitated.
If we enter the mansion now, we might be discovered by Lia.
The worst-case scenario is that Leah is already waiting for him behind the mansion gate.
If they find out he hasn't come home for two days, they'll inevitably complain.
After all, he didn't attend such an important event that happened in the palace.
If I see Liya now, I'll definitely have to explain for ages.
Moreover, it's really hard to explain why he went to the Delin family and dug up Angus's grave.
He just had a criminal record, and it wouldn't be good if Lia thought he had become a grave robber.
"Never mind, let's just go back to our room."
He snapped his fingers, and a faintly glowing blue array suddenly appeared beneath his feet, with chaotic starlight climbing up Viktor's body.
In the blink of an eye, he transformed into several illusory, long lines and ascended into the mansion.
When Victor reappeared, he was already in his familiar room.
The animal fur carpet underfoot felt soft and comfortable.
The room was clean and tidy, without a speck of dust.
Moreover, the room was very warm.
When Victor first entered, he felt a gentle warmth quickly envelop his entire body.
It's as if someone has been here in the last few days.
He hadn't been back to his room for many days.
His heart raced slightly as he sensed the subtle yet warm atmosphere in the room.
Suddenly, a crackling sound came from the fireplace in the room.
Viktor was slightly taken aback and was about to turn around to look when a voice rang out from the side.
"You've finally decided to come back?"
Viktor felt a slight jolt upon hearing the voice.
He slowly turned around, and Lia's figure came into view.
