Gwen stared intently at Viktor.
She was in a panic; her sense of justice had failed her, making it impossible for her to discern whether Victor was telling the truth or not.
How could this matter be related to demons?
"A demon? What is a demon?"
"I don't know, what is it?"
Many people present had never even heard of what a demon was, and were completely bewildered by everything that had just happened.
But they witnessed Professor Devon being taken away.
Victor didn't have time to explain to these people; he just needed to make them suspect whether Devon had been involved with those things.
"Do you know the location?"
Viktor communicated with Vega in his mind.
"It's not far, just behind the academy."
Vega patted his chest, flew back onto Victor's shoulder, and replied confidently.
Victor knew that if Heni had truly been tempted by the devil and her mind had been clouded, she would never let Devon Reiser go.
Demons amplify the negative emotions of others, and Heni's hatred was the perfect fodder for demons.
Ultimately, no matter what method is used, Devon Reiser will be taken away.
All he needed to do was manipulate public opinion slightly to shift the blame onto Devon Reiser.
Viktor placed a magical mark on Devon Reiser, so that even if Devon left the capital, Vega could sense the location of the magical mark through the link they had established.
It's easy to find that guy.
Viktor's mission is now complete.
He just needs to wait.
Wait until the demon bares its fangs before dealing with it personally.
Suddenly, Viktor felt a wave of dizziness, clutched his forehead, and swayed his body violently.
He was unsteady on his feet due to the barrier, and it looked like he was about to collapse completely at any moment.
“Victor…”
When Gwen saw Viktor swaying, she instinctively had an urge to reach out and steady him, but the surrounding gazes made her hesitate and stop.
Just then, one of the knights beside her seemed to faint, and lost his balance, bumping his shoulder into Gwen.
Caught off guard, she stumbled and ended up in front of Victor.
She looked up and saw Viktor, who was dizzy, right in front of her.
Gwen was stunned. She stood in the square, unsure whether to move or not.
But seeing how weak Viktor looked, she encouraged herself.
"It's just helping him up. He saved my life before. It's nothing."
Having found a reason for herself, she stepped forward and took Viktor's hand in hers.
"Victor, how are you?"
Viktor, supported by her, stiffened slightly and turned to look at Gwen with a surprised expression.
What's going on?
Was he faking it?
Even if the magic array had some effect on him, a fourth-level mage, it shouldn't have affected him to this extent.
But after all, he had only been 'struggling' with the demon for a while, and to outsiders, his physical strength must have been somewhat diminished.
Viktor wanted to explain, but then thought better of it and simply collapsed into Gwen's arms.
She also pretended that her voice was very weak.
"Help me up..."
Don't get me wrong, this isn't about taking advantage of someone.
This was simply to clear his name more completely.
Gwen was initially hesitant to move, her face flushed with anxiety in front of so many people, but upon hearing Viktor's weak voice, her righteous and kind heart was overcome with pity.
"Victor must be so tired..."
Even if he is despised and cursed by thousands, he will not offer any explanation.
Even if everyone misunderstands.
Some of the more lucid monks took the initiative to ask:
"What exactly happened? And what's with the demon?"
"So, Professor German is the one with the problem?! How is that possible?"
"My mind is a mess, I feel like this barrier is affecting my IQ!"
What should we eat for lunch today?
"Wait, why is Gwen the Knight and Victor hugging and kissing in public?"
Gwen: "..."
"Quiet!"
One of the knights shouted, silencing the mages present.
Gwen bent down and knelt down, holding Victor in her arms to make him as comfortable as possible.
Then she addressed the mages before her:
"We will answer all your questions once the matter has been investigated and clarified."
"Now, please remain quiet inside the academy and await rescue."
"Also! Let Viktor rest for a while!"
The monks fell silent.
Some nobles who knew the two were engaged were still puzzled.
Everyone says Victor and Gwen don't get along, but how can you say they don't get along when they're such a loving couple?
Who spread this rumor?
That's utter nonsense!
Vega stood on the ground, looking speechlessly at Viktor who was pretending to be unconscious.
Life is like a play, and it all depends on acting skills.
I'll see how you plan to step down then.
Suddenly, Vega raised its head and squinted its eyes as if it had sensed something.
The faint blue light flickering beneath his single eye surveyed his surroundings.
'Victor, don't sleep yet.'
'The duke's maid is approaching that thing.'
As the first believer to contribute his strength to Vega, there is a very clear one-way connection between Vega and Erica.
