As evening fell, the inky blue night sky dispelled the last rays of the setting sun.
Erica sat inside the carriage, watching the last rays of the setting sun disappear into the distant mountains.
Turning my head, I saw the soft, hazy light emanating from the Du Chloe mansion.
As the clattering of the carriage gradually subsided, the carriage stopped shaking and swaying.
The servant gently pulled on the reins and let out a soft "whoosh".
The sound of wheels rolling on the street disappeared, and the rhythmic clatter of horses' hooves gradually ceased.
Erica sat in the carriage but did not get off for a long time.
Thinking of what Victor had said earlier that day, a strong sense of security rose in her heart.
However, there was no sign of relief on her face.
Erica's hasty departure was not due to embarrassment because of Professor Victor's words.
Well, there is some connection, though.
Most importantly, she didn't know how to face the professor.
But she felt she still couldn't offer Professor Victor any help.
Despite having become the youngest third-tier mage, she still couldn't help Professor Victor in the slightest.
Erica lowered her head, clenched her fists, and felt a deep sense of powerlessness creeping into her heart.
She sighed.
She clearly had a premonition that something big was about to happen in the capital.
But compared to others, she really seemed like just a student in Viktor's presence.
They can't offer the other party any help at all.
She could only do small things like relaying messages.
Professor Victor is simply too dazzling these days.
I had once been determined to catch up with him.
But now even his silhouette is hard to catch a glimpse of.
Her gaze slid down her arm and landed on the ground. She stared blankly at the street in front of the gate, muttering to herself:
"What should I do..."
The maid opened the car door, and gusts of cold air brought Alicara back to reality.
Realizing that the carriage had stopped in front of her house, she reached out and patted her cheeks.
Hearing the servants' voices outside the carriage:
"Miss, we've arrived."
"But it seems we have guests today. Shall we go in now?"
Erica looked puzzled and peered out the window.
A magnificent carriage, adorned with gold patterns, was parked in front of the mansion gate.
She recognized the badge surrounded by gold patterns as the emblem of the Cassidra Merchant Guild at a glance.
Just as her father had predicted, Lipoulte did indeed come to visit him.
However, this was to be expected; the president of the Cassidra Chamber of Commerce would arrive sooner or later.
So Erica responded to the maid:
"Let's go inside now. It would be impolite of us to stay in the car."
The servants outside bowed and helped her down from the carriage.
Following the maid to the door, before the maid could even move, the door was pushed open from the inside with a slight creak.
Then, a strange yet elegant voice drifted into Erica's ears:
“It was a pleasant meeting, Reeves.”
Amidst laughter and cheers, Ripoultry emerged from the doorway like an elegant nobleman.
His golden pupils, like flowing liquid gold, appeared mysterious and profound.
Behind Riboult, Zola, with her long legs, calmly followed beside him.
When she met Erica, she gave Erica a polite smile with an elegant demeanor.
Erica vaguely remembered this woman, after all, she knew that her family often had dealings with the Cassidra Chamber of Commerce.
We have met several times at previous banquets.
What impressed her most was the other person's long legs, which they were very proud of.
Erica was quite envious for a while.
Just then, Ripoot, who had just come out, also saw Erica standing in front of the door.
When his golden eyes fell on Erica, they seemed to freeze for a moment.
The light in his eyes seemed to freeze for a few seconds.
It was as if, in his eyes, Erica was a precious work of art.
Erica didn't pay much attention to this detail; out of courtesy, she gave Lipoulter a graceful bow.
"Hello, nice to meet you, I am Erica du Chloe."
Just then, Revi happened to walk by and, seeing Lipoulter meet his daughter, he took the initiative to introduce them:
“This is my daughter Erica. This is probably the first time you’ve met her.”
"……indeed."
Lipoulte snapped out of his daze, and his golden eyes began to shine again.
He was clearly quite interested in Erica in front of him.
He smiled slightly and spoke elegantly:
"What a beautiful little girl, she looks just as beautiful as her mother."
Erica slightly raised her head, looked at Ribot, and asked in confusion:
Have you met my mother?
"Of course, she is a gentle yet powerful and beautiful woman."
Lipoultry smiled and nodded at Erica, then turned to look at Revy:
“I think I understand now why you’re so determined to refuse at all costs… Oh, never mind.”
The child is still here.
His eyes conveyed this meaning as he removed his tall top hat and bowed to Rivi.
"No need to see me off, my dear old friend."
Zola and Riboot, who were standing beside him, bowed together.
