A beam of white light shot into the sky, its magnificent momentum resembling flowing ripples, illuminating the heavens.
Under this violent force, the academy was completely destroyed, and even the last quartz slab was shattered into powder.
The people within the capital seemed to sense something and couldn't help but look up at the distant academy.
An amazing beam of light, like sunlight breaking through the clouds.
This shock, akin to a nuclear bomb, left the mages present utterly astonished.
Even though Victor had sealed the academy with crystals beforehand, the leaked energy still instantly bombarded the entire academy.
Fortunately, the area was reduced, otherwise the group from the academy would have perished here.
If the barrier is breached, the damage could extend to the capital city, potentially destroying a significant portion of the area.
However, some people were injured in the commotion because they were too close to the magic.
As the light faded, a terrifyingly deep crater appeared in the ground.
The pit was tens of meters deep and covered an unusually large area.
The surrounding buildings were no longer recognizable; an academy had vanished from the capital in an instant.
The demon also disappeared.
The numerous mages, their bodies weakened, trembled as they gazed at the scene before them.
"This, this is fucking..."
"Where's the school!?"
"The school was bombed to the ground!?"
They were completely bewildered, yet the feeling of utter exhaustion that seemed to drain their life force constantly reminded them that what they were witnessing was real.
In the end, Victor drained the magic of all the mages around him and unleashed a powerful spell that was enough to threaten the capital.
Humanoid war magic... In their hearts, Victor gained another title.
Victor stood in the deep pit, holding the unconscious Hennie in his arms.
Henney was wearing a hood, so no one could see what she looked like.
Many people saw Victor in the deep pit, and everyone was completely bewildered.
Viktor, why are you holding another woman in your arms?!
Everyone's attention was on Viktor, and no one noticed that there was an ugly toad hopping around in the pit.
Covered in ink, it crawled laboriously step by step until it reached a charred black body.
That's Devon Reiser.
Despite the terrifying magic, Devon Reiser did not die.
In his final moments after being injured, Yem swallowed Devon Reiser whole.
All the damage was dealt to the demon.
Because Yem knew that if it wanted to continue to exist, then Devon Reiser could not die.
The toad climbed onto Devon's body and turned into a trail of black ink that wrapped around Devon Reiser.
Devon Reiser rose from the ground like a resurrected floating corpse.
The bones all over his body were cracking and popping, and the loose bones were now back to normal.
Its eyes were bloodshot as it stared intently at the students before it, a foul, fishy stench dripping from its mouth.
As if it had lost its mind, it let out a threatening growl, tilting its head, looking exactly like a wild beast.
"Isn't that Professor Devon?! He's not dead!"
"Yes! He's a German professor!"
"Wait a minute! Professor Devon looks really strange!"
One of them noticed Professor Devon's foolish appearance and couldn't help but wonder.
Soon, those around Devon began to notice that something was wrong with him.
"Devin Reiser is definitely suspicious!"
"His appearance! He's possessed by a demon!?"
With his professorship stripped from people's lips, Devon naturally became the villain possessed by a demon.
The truth behind the entire conspiracy seems to have come to light.
Devon Reiser, that filthy demon!
The mages slowly raised their arms, preparing to unleash all the remaining magic upon Devon Reiser.
To everyone's surprise, Devon Reiser simply snapped his head back and uttered a harsh threat to Victor:
"I will remember all of you."
Suddenly, a ripple of black ink appeared beneath his feet, engulfing Devon Reiser in darkness and vanishing.
The mages shuddered upon hearing Devon's words; the feeling of being targeted by a demon was like a long iron spear piercing their hearts.
All eyes turned to Victor, because it was Victor who defeated the demon, and if they wanted to eliminate it completely, it seemed that only Victor could do it.
But right now, no one dares to order Viktor around.
Duke Reeves leaped over the pebbles and came to Victor. He looked down at Hennie in Victor's arms.
"This is......."
“My teaching assistant, Devon Reiser, stole her knowledge and created the previous barrier formation.”
Duke Reeves couldn't help but look somewhat surprised.
Although he wasn't inside the magic circle, he had naturally heard about it.
More than half of the third-tier mages in the entire capital came to provide support, but no one could understand the intricacies of the magic array, let alone break it.
It was even Viktor who led a few mages to crack it from within.
"Your teaching assistant is a rare genius."
Victor turned his head away, ignoring Duke Reeves's flattering words.
After this battle against the demons, Duke Reeves' hostility towards Victor lessened considerably.
Regardless, he once again stepped in to protect the capital.
During the first volcanic eruption, no one knew what Victor had done, and even most mages began to doubt him.
This time, the mages of the capital witnessed it firsthand.
They held Viktor in high esteem, and no one doubted his level as a fourth-tier mage anymore.
