Lia's eyes widened when she heard Victor's words.
His pale, colorless face was immediately filled with astonishment.
"What's the meaning?"
She forced down her trembling voice, mustered her courage, and continued to question Victor.
It was as if a sharp, cold wind was constantly slicing across her face.
The sharp pain not only appeared on her cheeks but also penetrated deep into her heart.
Lia could barely open her eyes; she felt the wind on this winter night had become much stronger.
Victor looked down at her and slowly lowered his hand from Lia's head.
Feeling the warmth above her head disappear, Lia was finally able to lift her head.
She looked at Viktor with trembling eyes, her trembling gaze clearly carrying a strong sense of condemnation.
She stared at Viktor's familiar face, and angrily questioned him:
"Let me go home alone? What does that mean?"
"What exactly are you talking about?"
Although she was questioning Viktor, a strong premonition kept rising in Lia's heart.
It was as if they were about to part ways.
She shook her head violently, unwilling to accept the idea.
At this moment, Viktor calmly said to her:
"I'll be leaving for a while."
"I might be back soon, or I might be a long time away."
Hearing these words, Lia was somewhat taken aback.
She desperately hoped that what Victor said was true, and that her bad feeling was just her imagination.
After all, Victor has left before.
Sometimes it's short, sometimes it's long.
On one occasion, Victor even accompanied the princess on a diplomatic mission to the Kingdom of Kant.
That time, he was away for a full month.
Therefore, she has no need to worry about Victor leaving right now.
There have been times when the other party would suddenly disappear without a word, so she should have gotten used to Viktor's frequent departures by now.
but why……
Is this the only time that has caused her such heartache?
It's as if... Viktor's departure this time means he'll never come back.
She couldn't accept it.
So Lia looked up, gazed into Victor's eyes, and asked softly, her voice trembling slightly:
So...where are you going?
Victor did not answer Lydia's question directly.
He simply and subtly, with a hint of concern, gave Leah his instructions:
"When you get back, remember to discuss the compensation for the capital with Zola."
"She won't owe any money; she knows everything."
Upon hearing Viktor's words, Lia stood quietly, one hand clenched into a fist and placed against her chest, pressed against her trembling clothes.
She felt a tightness in her chest, and her breathing began to become somewhat difficult.
Lia tried to take a deep breath, but it felt as if a heavy stone was blocking her throat.
But Viktor's voice continued:
"While the capital is under construction, we will stay in Braxton for the time being."
"If you encounter any difficulties, go to Kokote."
“Even if I’m not in your family, you still have the support of a fifth-tier mage.”
Listening to Victor's words, Lia's mood grew heavier and heavier.
Her mind was buzzing, because Victor's words were buzzing in her ears like mosquitoes, making her feel irritated.
"What exactly are you..."
She tried to interrupt, but Victor's voice continued.
“You’ve always been better at handling things at home than I am, and the family can’t stay without a head of household forever.”
"So after I'm gone, you can take my place."
Hearing these words, Lia's eyes widened.
Because of this statement, it was as if it completely confirmed all her guesses.
It seems like Victor will never come back.
She couldn't believe it, and she didn't want to believe it.
Lia could only shake her head frantically, her eyes wide with disbelief, her voice trembling.
Go and ask Viktor the final question:
"Where...are you going..."
Viktor remained silent.
After a while, he reached out and gently grasped Lia's gloved hand.
The gloves fit Leah's hands perfectly, clinging tightly to her skin.
The gems on it still emanate a strange elemental magic.
It's clear she hasn't used it much.
But Victor slowly raised his left hand, pointing to the mage's hand inlaid with six gems.
Suddenly, a faint, strangely colored magical power flowed from his fingertips.
After circling in the air with the cold wind, it gradually merged into each of the dazzling crystals.
The magic flowed in slowly like a stream, and the immense magic became increasingly clear.
Looking at the mage's hand that was shimmering with bright light, Lia lowered her head.
Her eyes reflected those six strange lights, and she was too weak to utter a single word.
For some reason, the dazzling light seemed to sting her eyes, making her feel even more heartbroken.
"I have already updated the magic inside for you."
"Use them if you encounter danger."
Viktor gave the instructions softly, as calmly as ever.
Suddenly, Lia's gaze became unfocused.
As if remembering something important, her eyes widened slightly.
She remembered Victor saying that as long as the magic contained in this glove was used...
No matter how far he is, he will come back and appear by her side.
Just then, Lia was about to speak.
Viktor's calm voice once again beat her to it:
