"No...that's not how it is!"
Hearing the other party's anxious explanation, Persephone leaned forward slightly, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
She squinted slightly, looking at Erica with a hint of amusement.
Seeing that the Queen of the Underworld might have misunderstood something, Erica's cheeks flushed slightly.
She quickly shook her hand, eagerly denying Persephone's guess.
"I...I have a purely teacher-student relationship with the professor!"
She added urgently:
"He is a professor I greatly admire, and besides, he already has a fiancée!"
Upon hearing this, Persephone's smiling expression froze, replaced by one of extreme surprise.
"What? Viktor has a fiancée?"
"Isn't this his first time?"
Huh? Is that the main point?
Erica felt a little dizzy when she heard this.
She never imagined she would discuss such a sensitive and tense topic with others.
Especially when the protagonist of this topic is possessing her.
And Professor Victor can sense what she's thinking...
Although Persephone had said that Victor would no longer hear their whispers.
Even so, it still filled her with a strong sense of immorality and a hint of indescribable excitement.
Her already flushed face even showed a hint of embarrassment.
Seeing Erica's appearance, Persephone said with a smile:
"Okay, I'm not teasing you anymore."
Erica slowly raised her head upon hearing this.
He looked at Persephone in front of him with a somewhat bewildered expression.
However, the blush on her cheeks had not faded, and a burning sensation still lingered on her face.
"You should understand that no matter how hard you try, you cannot leave the underworld in your current state."
"Because Professor Victor, whom you cherish so much, is now nothing more than a soul."
As is well known, the soul cannot leave the underworld.
"But I will help you."
Her words carried a hint of mystery, causing Erica to blink, her eyes filled with doubt and curiosity.
What puzzled her was how Persephone would help them.
However, Persephone did not say much, but continued speaking to Erica:
"But you must continue to participate in trials and undergo trials until you are qualified to pass the trials and leave the underworld."
"Remember, I'm talking about yourself."
Persephone stared intently into Erica's eyes, which were a mixture of shock and confusion, as if emphasizing this crucial difference.
After all, the former could rely on Victor's help, while the latter required Erica to rely on her own strength.
But for Erica, even the first trial alone was enough to teach her a hard lesson.
However, Persephone has already said so.
Erica knew in her heart that this might be her only way out.
The facts are clear: the professor has already used her body to pass the trial, and the two of them are still trapped in the underworld.
With that thought in mind, Erica nodded firmly, her eyes shining with determination.
"I promise you."
Persephone smiled with satisfaction upon seeing Erica's reaction.
She nodded slightly, her tone serious:
"Just remember, you must never give up."
"Even if you endure endless pain, even if you are shattered to pieces, once you think you have lost, all your efforts will be in vain."
Erica sensed the seriousness and depth in Persephone's words, and she took a deep breath.
He readjusted his emotions and nodded again to show his understanding.
"Alright, no need to be so serious."
Erica's response reassured Persephone considerably.
She revealed that gentle smile again, instantly dispelling the previous serious atmosphere.
Then, she continued speaking to Erica:
"You can rest here as long as you like."
"I believe in you. With your best skills, you will definitely succeed."
As soon as he finished speaking, Persephone's figure began to gradually blur.
The white robe slowly became transparent, like a thin piece of paper being gently torn apart.
Finally, she transformed into a delicate, multicolored petal, drifting away in the wind.
Erica watched Persephone depart until the fragrant spring breeze he had transformed into completely disappeared into the sky.
At this moment, Erica stood alone on the completely withered grassland.
She looked around and found that the desolate flower field had not changed since Persephone left.
Erica's gaze fell on the withered, yellowed stems, and her hands unconsciously clenched into fists.
His mind echoed with the words that Persephone had just spoken.
She stared blankly at her palm, and muttered to herself in a daze:
"My greatest strength?"
As she talked to herself, Erica subconsciously reached out her hand to the withered and bent stems of wildflowers in front of her.
Her fair and slender fingers gently touched the withered grassland.
Instantly, the bluish-green ripples spread rapidly through the space like dissolved paint, extending along the withered stems.
Centered on Erica, the earth seemed to be awakened by a natural force.
The pale green ripples resembled a spring breeze, and countless flowers and grasses on the grassland straightened their backs again, their vibrant colors blooming like a rainbow.
