A terrifying slash that stirred up a whirlwind swept across the space and slashed fiercely toward Erica.
Whoosh!
As the silver light fell, the violent shockwave seemed to be sliced open by a sharp blade, whistling away to both sides.
The azure flames trembled gently under the influence of the wind, their flickering light creating a swaying motion.
Thanatos hovered in the air, slowly retracting the slender scythe in his hand.
Erica's figure vanished before his eyes, but Thanatos knew from the ethereal sensation emanating from the scythe that it had not struck the enemy before him.
An invisible gust of wind suddenly rose from the center of the disc-shaped landmass, and Erica's figure gradually appeared in the wind.
The array in her hands flowed, the crimson magic lines intertwining like intricate vines, filling her hands with radiance.
The temperature of the surrounding air rose sharply as the magic was manipulated.
Waves of heat washed over her, and the space in front of Erica began to slowly distort.
Scorching energy surged from her hands, and two dazzling fireballs converged above the formation, burning with crimson flames.
boom!
Erica waved her hands, and the two fireballs intertwined.
It streaked through the air, leaving a trail of sparks, and hurtled rapidly toward Thanatos.
Sensing the intense heat behind him, Thanatos turned his head slightly.
A phantom arm swiftly extended from beneath the tattered cloak, constructing a transparent, invisible wall out of thin air.
Bang!
A deafening explosion rang out.
Two balls of crimson flames violently collided with the transparent wall, unleashing a terrifying heat wave.
A scorching atmosphere spread in all directions, with broken crimson flames intertwined with azure flames.
Suddenly, Thanatos pushed his hand slightly.
In that instant, another transparent wall appeared behind Erica without her noticing.
She quickly leaned to the left and leaped away, trying to get off the spot.
However, she was still a step too slow.
The moment the transparent wall took shape, it moved rapidly toward Thanatos.
The powerful impact propelled Erica toward Thanatos.
Erica had no time to react; the next second, she saw herself standing very close to the phantom god.
A terrifying, deathly stillness had spread to her limbs, and a deep fear rapidly expanded in her eyes.
She saw it; Thanatos had already raised his pale scythe high.
The threat of death loomed large.
As the cold blade fell, Erica's body was severed at the waist.
Her body was broken in two, and even her bent arms were cut into four pieces.
Snap!
With the sound of flesh and blood falling to the ground, Erica's mangled body collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
However, not a single drop of blood came out of the wound.
Thanatos slowly lowered his head, looking at the lifeless humans beneath him, but did not leave.
It stood still, assuming an attack stance, waiting with a serious expression.
Suddenly, flames burst into flames without warning from Erica's body, instantly engulfing her completely.
The flames seemed to come alive, slowly spreading outwards.
The moment the flames come into contact, they merge and intertwine.
It was as if countless fiery threads were trying to reconnect Erica's body.
Thanatos narrowed his eyes, watching the changes before him and feeling the renewed life force emanating from the human girl.
As the god of death, it is extremely sensitive to the temperament of both the living and the dead.
Clearly, Erica is experiencing another miracle of death and resurrection.
Seeing this, Thanatos raised his scythe again, preparing to swing it down once more, attempting to interrupt Erica's resurrection process.
But Erica seemed to sense the danger and didn't give Thanatos the chance.
She used the turmoil of the wind element to shake herself off and quickly distance herself from Thanatos.
The moment the two bodies were lifted into the air, Erica swiftly created a wall of earth in the space behind her.
It stood in front of the azure flames within the inner circle of the surrounding circular earth disc.
Bang!
A dull thud rang out as Erica's two halves of her body slammed against the wall.
The flames, accompanied by pain, bound her body together, and finally, her body began to slowly recover.
Erica endured the intense pain and struggled to her feet, swaying unsteadily.
She knelt on one knee, slowly straightened up, and long marks were left on the fiery links on both sides of her body.
Under the pull of the fiery threads, the mangled arms quickly returned to their original positions, reassembling into Erica's complete arms.
Feeling her body reborn, Erica twisted her wrists and gritted her teeth to stay in place.
Her fierce gaze was fixed on Thanatos in front of her.
Now, Erica could feel every part of her body being filled with intense pain.
The intense stinging pain blurred her vision for a moment.
She clearly felt the death she had just experienced, and at the same time, she felt the natural forces within her gradually reconstructing her body.
Erica, equally defiant, looked at Thanatos, who was still staring coldly at her.
Even though the intense pain had covered her forehead in cold sweat, she still couldn't resist scoffing at the deity before her:
"I told you, you can't kill me."
For the first time, Thanatos felt a surge of turbulent emotions within him.
As the Grim Reaper, he is unable to control the life and death of a human being.
This made it feel extremely bad.
The human body is inherently fragile, yet this human possesses a mysterious ability to resurrect.
