Chapter 58 Has he gotten involved with a minor again?

The lights were bright and dazzling.

The red silk curtains hanging in mid-air slowly descended, extending to the ground of the palace, with the night sky shining through the dome at the top of the palace.

The melodious sound of the zither filled the palace, reaching the ears of every guest present.

The banquet was laden with delicacies from land and sea, awaiting the guests' seats.

The nobles complimented and greeted each other.

They held their goblets, brimming with fine beer, and waited quietly for the arrival of the star of the banquet.

Kefla stood beside Gwen, raising her wine glass high. Her long purple hair, paired with her matching evening gown, made her look incredibly alluring and seductive.

She moved among nobles and politicians, greeting them as usual.

Gwen stood behind Kefla, looking somewhat awkward.

Her legs were tightly clamped around the hem of her skirt, and her body twisted and rubbed restlessly.

Kefla turned around and noticed Gwen's odd behavior. She pulled her aside and asked:

"Little Gwen, what's wrong?"

Gwen tugged at her dress and complained uncomfortably;

"Sister, why do I have to dress like this too..."

Gwen usually only wears armor, and even during her leisure time, she wears light armor.

Wearing this dress made her feel as if she were being tortured.

"Also, I've never heard of me wearing makeup."

She spoke to Kefla with a hint of resentment, but Kefla just smiled and looked at her with narrowed eyes.

"Alright, alright, there's no reason to wear armor at a banquet. You'll have to get used to these things sooner or later."

"But……"

Gwen tugged at her chest and pointed here with dissatisfaction.

"This place is too cramped; it's not suitable for me at all."

Kevlar: "..."

Although she had a smile on her face, Kefla didn't seem to be in a very happy mood.

She reached out and pinched Gwen's cheek, saying with a forced smile.

"Who told you that you don't even have a dress in your closet? The one you're wearing is one that your sister used to wear."

"I'm so sorry to feel tightness in my chest."

Gwen, unaware of why her sister was angry, stopped talking and let Kefla pinch her cheeks, looking like a pitiful victim.

Kefla released her grip and shrugged.

"You don't even know how beautiful you are now, do you? Those nobles are practically staring at you like crazy."

If some people didn't know that Gwen was Victor's fiancée, someone would probably have already come up to chat her up.

"I don't need anyone to watch me."

"Oh, what's wrong with dressing up nicely? Maybe when Viktor sees you later, his eyes will look at you differently?"

As Kefla spoke, she leaned gently against Gwen.

Hearing her sister mention Victor, Gwen knew Kevlar was teasing her again, so she blushed and turned away, saying:

"What Victor thinks has nothing to do with me."

Kevlar knew her sister was being stubborn, so she scoffed and turned away.

Duke Rivi was also surrounded by a group of mages, a broad smile on his face.

"Haha, how has Noble Baker been lately?"

The white-haired old man, leaning on his obsidian cane, nodded to Duke Rivi.

He walked up to the Duke and clinked glasses with Reeves.

"Duke Reeves, it's been a long time."

“I’m an old man, I’m not good enough for you. But you, no one would believe you’re sixty years old.”

"Hey, where's your daughter?"

When Duke Reeves heard the question directed at Erica, he turned to look at his daughter.

The nobleman from Baker followed his gaze and saw Erica chatting confidently among the younger generation of nobles.

He smiled and said to the Duke, "I really envy Your Excellency for having such an outstanding offspring."

Duke Reeves was pleased to hear the words of the nobleman Baker. He knew they were flattery, but he was still incredibly proud when his daughter was mentioned.

Erica interacted with the nobles with ease; her long golden hair and silver dress made her look like a white swan wearing a golden crown, elegant and graceful.

A young nobleman was drawn to Erica.

He also had blond hair, a handsome face, and wore gorgeous clothes.

"Miss Erica."

“I am Pipol Tia, the eldest son of the Tia family. May I invite you, Miss, to dance?”

Erica didn't shake her head, but simply responded politely:

“I’m sorry, Mr. Pipol, I already have an appointment.”

Erica nodded politely to him and walked away under his regretful gaze.

In that short time, Erica returned to her father's side.

Suddenly, the guests at the banquet stopped talking and were all drawn to the sound of a door opening.

The music stopped abruptly.

They looked up at the second floor of the palace.

The golden door on the second floor slowly opened, and Emperor Auberly emerged, with Aurelian in a silver-white dress beside him.

Next to emerge was Victor Clavner, the head of the Clavner family.

His sister, Leah Clementa, followed behind him.

Although Lia had attended many banquets, she had never felt so proud as she did now.

Being able to follow behind the emperor, with the eyes of thousands of guests focused on him.

Just thinking about it makes Leah forget how to walk.

Her legs were now incredibly stiff, and she was trying her best to keep herself from falling.

After all, if things go wrong at this point, it would be incredibly embarrassing in front of thousands of people.
