The sun had already peeked out from behind the mountains, generously pouring its bright sunlight down from the sky.
Warm light drifted gently through the clear sky, filtering through the mansion's windows and softly spilling into Lia's room.
The hazy, weary midday sun gently caressed Lia's body.
It gently brushed past her clothes and finally landed on her face as she lay on her side on the bed.
Sensing the subtle disturbance of the light, Lia gradually awoke from her sleep.
She opened her eyes groggily, only to find that the sunlight outside the window was so bright that she could barely open them.
The next moment, as if realizing something, she suddenly sat up in bed, her eyes wide open.
How...how is it already noon?!
How come she slept for so long?
"No...that won't do."
With so many things to take care of at home, she actually slept until the afternoon.
This kind of relaxation is unlike her.
She quickly shook her still dizzy head and lowered it.
Only as my gaze gradually focused did I realize that I was still wearing yesterday's clothes.
Lia quickly rolled out of bed and ran to the clothes rack in one step.
The first thing that catches the eye is that familiar trench coat.
Almost instinctively, she reached out to touch the trench coat.
But when the hand was halfway out, it suddenly stopped in mid-air.
Lia felt slightly dazed.
When did she start to prefer wearing trench coats?
After some thought, she realized...
After Victor left, the trench coat became a symbol of her longing, as if it made her feel that Victor was still alive.
But perhaps more than that, after giving up all social activities, she no longer wanted to dress up as meticulously as she used to.
A trench coat can easily solve all your problems.
However, at this moment, Lia recalled everything that had happened yesterday.
Is it still necessary for her to wear trench coats now?
...
One hour later.
The door to Lia's bedroom slowly opened, and a maid who happened to be passing by saw Lia come out.
I was just about to say hello,
"Little Liya..."
But the next second, the maid suddenly froze on the spot.
Her eyes widened, her mouth slightly agape, her gaze filled with shock and disbelief.
The person who came out of the bedroom was completely different from the Miss Leah she remembered.
Her makeup was light and elegant, with light pink lipstick on her lips.
Her fair skin shimmered with a healthy glow, accentuated by a natural blush.
Her clothes were carefully selected and perfectly matched the midday sun and the feeling of spring.
A striped grille off-the-shoulder dress not only accentuated her elegance but also made her appear more vibrant.
The maid stood there, stunned, staring blankly for a moment.
Hearing the maid's greeting, Lia nodded and smiled slightly.
She then left the bedroom with light and graceful steps.
The maid was left standing there, watching Lia's retreating figure, unable to come back to her senses for a long time.
"It's...it's so beautiful."
Miss Lia usually goes without makeup.
But precisely because of this, she was so beautiful that all the maids in the house envied her.
Everyone felt that if Miss Lia dressed up a little, she would definitely be a sight to behold.
In her memory, Miss Leah was beautiful but never bothered to dress up.
This always made her feel very sorry.
So what did she just see?
I don't remember Miss Lia ever wearing makeup, but she looks so beautiful with it on?
She was just like a young girl.
Why are you spacing out?
Suddenly a question came from the side. The maid turned around and saw a head maid looking at her curiously.
After being reminded, the maid came to her senses and hurriedly said:
"I...I...I just saw Miss Leah come out of her room, and she was wearing makeup!"
"She! She's so beautiful!"
Upon hearing this, the older head maid gave a strange look.
"I remember you're a new employee who joined the company in the last few years, right?"
The maid was slightly taken aback, then nodded and admitted it.
Seeing her reaction, the maid sighed.
"Then it's not surprising."
"Miss Lia used to love dressing up."
She paused, then continued:
"Especially every time she traveled from Braxton to the capital, she would spend more than an hour getting ready."
Upon hearing this, the maid covered her mouth in surprise.
This was something she had never known before.
"Wow, Miss Lia... she spent so much time getting ready, she must be going to see someone."
"Who knows? Don't overthink it, go back to work!"
...
As Lia slowly walked through the mansion's corridors, all the servants beside her stopped and stared intently at her.
Unlike usual, Lia greeted each servant with a friendly nod and a warm smile.
This raised a common question among the servants:
Is she in such a good mood today?
By the time they came to their senses, Lia's beautiful figure had already disappeared from sight like a gentle breeze.
This left the servants present completely bewildered.
Lia pushed open the gate of the mansion and stood on the sunlit grassland.
She held up her hand to shield her eyes from the glare and turned to look into the distance in the backyard.
The lawn shimmered with vibrant green light under the spring sunshine.
The gently swaying grass resembles a shimmering sea.
